Catch the Old King Crab!!

I've been thinking....

The "Old King Crab" fish has not been caught. So, either Disney just said it was there, but never put it there, or the fish is extremely, extremely, EXTREMELY rare. (The latter more likely the case)

I decided to put it to a test by creating a two-day competition for this reason. What we are going to do is to ONLY FISH ON LIGHTHOUSE LANE, if we are going to fish at all. The competition will be from April 17 through April 18. Once somebody catches the "Old King Crab" fish, the competition will be terminated. A picture of the fish is required, without the picture being cut around at the edges, drawn upon, etc. (It would be best if shrunken though) Even the names on the side can be excused, for we will need DEFINITE proof.

Judges and participants: Please PM me if you are going to join the competition, and also PM me if you want to be a judge. 4 more judges will be needed to judge whether the picture looks like a fake or not.

Rewards: There really is no reward I can give you, but IF you happen to catch the fish, and your picture is approved, you will automatically become well-known through the boards, as the first person who ever caught the infamous "Old King Crab". If you don't catch it, at least you will earn a sufficient supply of beans.

Rules: Some rules have already been written above, but this is simply Tooniquette. (1) When all the docks are taken, either wait patiently on the side, or switch districts. I reccomend moving to a rather lowly populated district for this reason. (2) No forgeries. If any "doctored up" images are found, the person will be expelled from the contest. This means that they may still fish on Lighthouse Lane, but if they DO catch the "Old King Crab", it may decrease their chances of it being approved. (3) No prejudice. IF there is a winner, chances are that much prejudice and dischord will be caused. This is purely unnacceptable, and will be dealt with by the mods. (I hope.. )

That's really all I have to say for now. This post will be edited for the list of participants. Mods, I just ask you, if this post is found faulty, please do not edit it. Send a PM to me, and I will deal with the problem ASAP.

Fab idea. I'll do it. But why only 2 days and why so far in advance? Why not start now or in the next few days and just run it until someone catches it?

hey last night i fished a couple of buckets looking for old king krab. i only have 32/50 species so wish me luck on anything and yes I was on lighthouse lane in donalds dock.

i'd like to participate but i don't have the gold rod. i could help with judging pictures though =) or perhaps modify pictures for anyone who can't! (BY THAT i mean editing out names and making the pic smaller. i will not help you cheat LOL)

Hmm good point, we don't know what rod we need. Since we already know of 45 species that are caught with Steel, I guess the other 5 could be Gold only. Well I have Steel but will be getting Gold in about 2 weeks so I will still join in.

I'm doing this far in advance so as to let everybody get ready. (i.e. upgrade from twig to bamboo) Also, if I had arranged the contest to be on today and forward, many people would most likely have not even learned about this thread. The more people we have fishing, the better the chances of this infamous crab getting caught.

I bet you do need the gold rod! That's why nobody has caught it. Maybe its with the steel rod... hmm...

Oh yes, I forgot to mention. Since we have about two weeks until the event, I would suggest moving up a rod or two. Gold would be the best, but Bamboo and Twig will do just fine.

Disney gave it to us as an example: some fish can only be caught in certain ponds, like the Old King Crab is found on Lighthouse Lane. It also has that info on the King Crab trading card. I think people claim to have caught it months ago too.
