its ok, but it just stinks that you have to pay out 8jb, and you lose them, so fast since you get the boot. and, it stinks even more, than you get the boot more often :\

What are you people talking about?
Who ever said there would be NO boots with the gold rod? Not sure where any of you got this idea but it is false. It was suggested that EXTRA boots MAY have been substituted on lower rods for fish that you could not catch with that rod, but there would always be a 'base' amount of boots even under that system. It is too early to say that you get more or less boots with the gold rod then you do with lower rods. There will be enough data in TUFS soon to tell us for sure. I have fished in TB, MM, DG, and DL with the gold rod and have many, many buckets in each place. I have not noticed more boots, but those you do get seem to hurt worse. I HAVE noticed that I seem to get more JB jars but that may just be local varience, again TUFS will give us the answer.
THIS IS NOT A BUG, YOU WILL ALWAYS GET BOOTS WITH EVERY ROD. IT IS A PART OF THE GAME.

Understood, but...

I do agree that TUFS, being managed much more devoted fishertoons than myself, will start wielding a more "factual" and less "ancedotal" result soon. We look forward to it! |

The Gold has a bug as it should be catching heavier fish and less boots than any other rod, but we all know this is not the case. Disney needs to adjust the catching radom lists for the gold rod for every pond. Most toons with the gold rod seem to catching smaller fish, not heavier ones as stated by Disney. Right now, I'd suggest not even going past the hardwood unless you truely don't need the beans. There has been studies done that showed a sudden drop off of new species and beans per bucket after the hardwood.
