fishing for me

I have just recently got into fishing. I was happy with 102 for the longest time, but eventually I got the LP envy thing from all my friends that were at 103. Now that I have started it, I kinda like it. But I will tell you its sick, just the biggest waste of time ever. I am standing here catching fake fish for hours on end. Yikes.

Anyway, I have some questions and I am sure these have been asked and answered at one point or another, but since I am lazy I will ask again.

I usually fish after a VP battle, I am usually pretty dented and its fun to just stand there and get happy. I am currently at 32 fish I have a steel rod, and no I didnt know that I should catch the rares from the rods before upgrading. I got the steel rod a while back, and since then I have got 4 new fish. So I am at least pretty happy with the steel and will stick with it for a bit before moving on. By the way the second horse fish I got was the Arabian. Kinda funny since so many people cant get it (it was with the steel rod).

So the question is how many buckets do you guys do at a sitting. If I am fishing at some play ground, I will fish one bucket in play ground sell then go to estate and fish one bucket there and back to play ground to sell and get another bucket. I will repeat this until I get 6 buckets. This is mostly to change the scenery.

Thats pretty much how long I can go with out making my friends mad at me for not helping them out in the factory or a vp fight.

Do you guys even count your time with buckets like I do? What are some of the other fishing styles out there?

6 - 10 buckets at a time sounds about right for me too. My playing session usually consists of me logging on, getting enough cog parts for my next suit, getting merits, fighting the VP, fishing, then logging out. About 2 hours. Been spending ALL of my fishing time in MM.

10-100 buckets for me. Seriously, I spend most of my time fishing (and still no luck with that All Star Fish ). Maybe I'll do 100-150 buckets when I get my Hardwood Rod (its on the way). But all I say is, I say 'Sorry, I'm busy fishing' when s/fs ask for help and 'Sorry, I can't.' when non s/fs ask. lol unless I need a break from fishing, I won't stop. hehe

I never count buckets. Though I do try to fish at least 1 bucket between buildings. I've caught several new species by doing this. Plus it helps to keep me at full beans for gags. Though note that the steel and gold rods, you will more than likely loose beans fishing. I have a very fast connection and find myself always waiting for friends to show up at the next building, so this helps keep the boredom down for me as well.

When I have no friends online, which happens on test all the time and don't feel like soloing, I fish at greater lengths then. I hate to turn anyone down asking for help with a building. I try to keep tasks that are more general like just cogs or cogs above certain levels, so that it helps me out to help friends. I shop around for tasks to keep this through the life of a toon.

The jelly beans are not a problem. I actually have more than I know what to do with. The JB tasks I get are like 1300 beans for 300 cogs. I have made over 5000 beans in one night before. Actually I only run one toon task now, since all the beans I get, get wasted. I still only have the 5000 bank, I hope they offer a bigger bank soon.




Thanks for the informaion. I dont think I can do 100 buckets , I will be disowned by my friends. But I think I will do abit more than now, maybe 10 buckets a sitting. I have also been really missing out on the streets. I should fish the streets more I guess.

OK please someone explain this to me, fishing is just BORING it really gets you nothing, after 100 laff 5 more wont make any difference, and I usually end up losing money <ok i havent had much practice>. So i really dont get it...cast cast sell, cast cast sell, back to the estate to rob piggy....cast cast sell ect. ect. ect. Id rather log off and go watch a movie

You don't have to like it, go right ahead and watch a movie. The fact that you don't like it or find it interesting doesn't mean we can't enjoy it.

The people who post in the fishing hole happen to ENJOY fishing. You're welcome to play Toontown any way you choose. Some people even think the VP is a stupid waste of time. That's their right, and it's our right to like fishing.

Greebo stated that your right not to like fishing, and it is. I just have a question or three. You say cast, cast, sell. Are you letting the timer run down? Most times when you miss the cast, if you just wait a bit, one of the shadows will swim back under that line. So if you are casting without waiting, then you will use up beans.

With a hardwood rod, you should use somewhere around 80 beans a bucket caught, and sell for 100-150 most times. (I am going from memory, since I am not working with the JB eating Gold. Performance on others rods will vary accordingly.) So maybe patience games are just not what you are looking for. I personally do not find VP that exciting because FPS games are not what I am good at. So enjoy what you do like about TT.

At 32 fish, Im with you, I rather have a root canal done than fish, but the simple fact is that I have to be better than you. So there.

I didn't really get absobed into fishing until my newest toon bagged a Clara
Nurse Shark and later, a Holey Mackeral. Currently stuck at 23 species (for
2 weeks now) with bamboo, I'm more committed than ever to getting the

ok i have NEVER cault a bucket in one sitting i mean i would like get one or two fishies and then go and tallk to my friends or i would just be sitting on the thing with my rod out with bubbles and clover and just saying not fishin lol we like make it so only one other person can fish and so you peeps might of seen us around lol

I LOVE fishing! I usually fish until someone asks for help, then I come back when I'm done. I can catch a bucket in less than a minute and a half in MM, so they add up in a hurry. Haven't seen any new fish lately though (hardwood, 30 fish). I even wrote a small macro that will automate fishing for me from certain locations, but I only use that with my little "testtoon". If I used it with my "zman", my daughter would never speak to me again!!!
