i already have the gold rod....have had it for a long time. my question is.....am i ever gonna catch these last seven fish or did i miss the window not catching them with the rod it says.....i need the devil ray, concord, baby grand, grand, grizzly,full moon and old crab. i am just about tired of fishing and haven't gotten anything in a while. 205 buckets in ddl on lullaby lane and nothing...someone please remind me why i like this game....i am ready to delete my 114 toon

You can catch SOME of those fish in a sap. Lets hope Matt (the fishing master) takes a look at this thread. he will help you for sure.

I think he means snap. And as for the fish, maxing isnt for everyone. Its one of the hardest thing in the game. Why not work the HQs or something fun? If you are intent on maxing, all I can tell you is fish fish and fish. Theyll come eventually. Out of those the easiest would be the Old King Crab. Just go to Lighthouse lane and you should get him relatively quickly.

tundaplaya is right that Old King isn't so bad. The problem with him is that he is only in one place. You must be on Lighthouse Lane in Donald's Dock. You should get him in 25 to 75 buckets. As for the Baby Grand Piano he is just a little harder go to Tenor Terrace in Minnies and you will get him in 50 to 100 buckets. As for the rest those are the ultra rares and they will take you plenty of fishing to get. On average they will take 500 to 1000 buckets each and some will take 3000 buckets. You will have to find the right place to fish for each fish and fish until your eyes fall out.

well my main wuestion was if me already having the gold rod was going to be a factor...i know i'm not going to catch them within 2 buckets

well i just caught the all star fish on my fourth bucket in TB/PG. That is my fourth overall bucket with a 15 laff toon. made the toon on halloween(black cat names Jinx, if you see me say hi), walked to TB just now and fished for the first time.don't really know if that is impressive or not but i thought i would share.

Here is my answer to that question specifically then, I will do it with an example. My toon Rock had a twig rod and about 32 fish. Total fish possible for twig is 38. I had been buying all the rods and keeping them in my mail box. One night I just wanted to get the gold and go. So I skipped all the rods in between, I went straight for the gold rod. 2 hours later I had 60 fish. It was a year later before I decided to fish the toon again but it turned out to be my easiest toon to fish. I got all the fish in less than 50,000 fish.

In my opinion it doesn't mater what rod you have. I personally don't worry about getting ultra rares until I have the other 63 fish with gold or 62 with steel. I did try to get them on a twig rod with my toon Flash and I did get them. Flash turn out to be my hardest toon to fish at 125,000 fish. I think I just got very unlucky, but it taught me that it just don't mater what rod you have.

P.S. Getting that All Star is awesome, that fish can be a little beast. I know a couple of toons that have had it for the last fish.

well one thing i noticed throughout reading everyones opinions and experiences with fishing is that the rarity values vary between people. i have been playing this game for a few years now. unfortunately sometime i get a "wild hair" and delete a toon. when this game first came out i started playing it and had a toon named captain dinky snifflewhip. when i deleted him i had 59 fish(i believe that is when there were only 60 or 62 total fish) and he was 109 laff which at the time was pretty high. that was way back when there were no headquarters...actually the sellbot HQ just came out. didn't have level 47 toons standing there trying to get in.of course, now they made the sellbot HQ really easy so it doesn't matter. just wish some of the higher toons would get off their high horse and get in the elevator. i'm really gettingtired of trying to get in there and noone wants to go i. anyway...back to fishing(sorry, had to vent for a sec) sometimes you get a lucky streak and the fish that are marked ultra rare or extremely rare come a little easier. just goes with how random this game can be.i will continue to keep track of everything and post it for the upper management to decipher and add to there theories. like i said before. i walked staright to TB with this new toon and will not leave until i catch the devil ray. hopefully he can be caught there..lol. here is where i am at with him so far:

28 buckets caught
all star fish was in my 4th bucket but here are my 18(thought it was 19 but i was wrong):

pb&j, grape
cat
clown, sad, party
star, five, shining, all star
puppy
amore
nurse
king
cutthroat...on my way to TB in one of the nutty's right now...see ya there

Well the Devil Ray can be caught there. And when I have the Devil Ray for my last fish as I have had happen twice now, that is where I go to get him. The thing about the Devil Ray is that it can be caught everywhere and I fish alot and I have gotten it literally everywhere. You could just fish for other fish and he could quite possible jump in your bucket no matter where you are. Good luck on your quest for the Devil Ray.
