Question New to The Fishing Hole forum

Hi everyone! Love to fish and glad to be here! I've caught 58 so far, have the gold rod. I'm going to adopt the new strategy of staying put, switching districts and pulling out more than one bucket. I do have my favorite pier at each pond! My old strategy was to go down the line (from TTC playground back to my estate), taking only one bucket from each pond (14 in all). I never thought to switch districts--good idea!

Here are the last 12 fish I need. At this point, I want to get to 60 fish not for the laff point but just for (family) bragging rights!

Very rare: old king, half moon, kodiac, scurvy
Extremely rare: siamese
Ultra rare: concord, all star, devil ray, full moon, grizzly, grand, baby grand

Here are my comments/questions:

1. How are the odds of catching (rare) fish at friends' estate's ponds? Should I ask to fish in their ponds? Is it worth my time?

2. From the list above, I am correct in NOT spending time fishing in the following ponds: Silly Street, Barnacle Boulevard, Oak Street, Baritone Boulevard, Polar Place, Pajama Place.

3. My husband says if he could do it all over again, he'd catch all the fish needed with the twig then move on to the next rod. Catch all the fish needed with that rod then move on to the next rod. And so forth. His theory is that we screwed ourselves and won't catch the lightweight fish with the gold rod. Do you believe this to be correct?

Hope to see you all around, and thanks for your input!

Good luck with your last 12. Just so you can get your bragging rights quickly, I'd go out and bag the Kodiac Bear Acuda in The Brrrgh (I caught at least 10 of them with my gold in the playground yesterday) and then head to Donald's Dreamland for the Half-Moon (If I recall correctly, I caught mine quite quickly here, but hey that was probably 2+ years ago!).

1. As I've never really fished at anyone else's estate (Heck I barely fish at mine!), I wouldn't know the exact odds but I wouldn't say it'd be worth it unless you're doing it on Bingo Wednesday where you can stay on your pier and sell your bucket. Because every fish but one that you can catch at your estate (Holey Mackereal is the exception), can be caught at other playgrounds. I've fished just enough to get the Holey, then left for a while. Fished a bucket or two yesterday before the 2 hours of bingo were up.

2. I would have to say yes, as mostly the fish are caught in the places that are listed. There have been those strays that end up in really awkward ponds, but for the most part they stay where Disney says they "should be". I put the quotes because sometimes I think they hide them in other ponds!

3. The gold rod has a chance of catching every fish from the lightest to the heaviest so you haven't messed yourself up. It will just be harder to catch them. If you all do, do it over I would do like your husband said and get as many as possible with your rods before buying the next.

I admit, I'm not the best fisherman and the last time I fished for over 2 buckets, other than yesterday, was a while back! I'm pretty sure my information is correct, though quite general.

By the way, "I like your name!" "Hee hee!"

What to do

1. Estate pond is an estate pond the odds are the same. But, I wouldn't waste your time unless it is a Bingo day and you really really want to have slightly better odds at getting the All Star. And besides the All Star the only other fish that you have left that you can get at the estate is the Devil Ray. The estate pond is a difficult pond to fish, I would suggest never fishing it again for what you have left.

2.You can get some of those fish on those streets, but again why run around when you don't have to. You are correct don't worry about those ponds.

3. Some people believe this theroy about the lower rods working better for catching the small ultras. I tested the theroy and the toon that I tested it on turned out to be my worst toon to fish. So I believe that theroy is a figment of someone's imagination and I will never do it again.

FYI.. Baby Grand is not an ultra rare it is an extreme rare.

Here is what I would do if I were you....

I. Lighthouse Lane in Donald's Dock and get the Old King probably about 25-50 buckets to get Old King

II. Seaweed Street in Donald's Dock and get the Scurvy Trout probably less than 25 buckets to get Scurvy and you may have already gotten him on Lighthouse.

III. Elm Street in Daisy Gardens and get the Siamese probably 25 to 100 bucket to get Siamese.

IV. Tenor Terrace in Minnie's Melodyland to get the Baby Grand probably 25 to 100 buckets to get Baby Grand.

V. Sleet Street in The Brrrgh to get the Kodiac probably less than 25 buckets to get the Kodiac

VI. Lullaby Lane in Donald's Dreamland to get the Half Moon probably less than 25 buckets to get the Half Moon.

VII. Alto Avenue in Minnie's Melodyland to get the Grand

VIII. Walrus Way in The Brrrgh to get the Grizzly

IX. I prefer Lullaby but there is no pond better than the others in Donald's Dreamland for the Full Moon.

X. If you still have the other 3 ultras: Concord, Devil Ray, and All Star. Then go to the Brrrgh playground and fish fish fish.

expect an average of 1,000 buckets to get each ultra rare.

Good Luck,
Matt

I don't know if you remember a Toon named Rikku, but she did this and maxed fairly quickly by doing that theory on her first Toon ever. Either she was that lucky, or she had the right idea.

Yeah I don't know about that but on my last toon that I maxed Rock. I went from Twig and 34 fish to Gold ( I never fished him with the other 3 rods) and maxed him in fishing in less than 45,000 fish which was my best toon to fish. The toon that I fished with the twig and got all the small utras was Flash and it took him the longest to fish at 125,000 fish. So it either doesn't mater or it caused me alot of pain.
