Fishing New fishing system and interface integrated. Here are the basics: You can now catch fish in the ponds located in every playground and street in Toontown. As you fish at a pond, your new fishing bucket will fill up with the fish you catch. When your bucket is full, or if you run out of Jellybeans, you need to sell the fish to the Pet Shop Clerks located near the ponds in the Playgrounds. Fish that are heavier and more rare are worth more Jellybeans. There are 50 total fish species. Some fish have particular ponds where they live, others can be found in every pond. Fish thrive in different environments, so the fish you are looking for may only live in a specific pond. Keep trying all of the ponds and eventually you will find the fish you are looking for. Your fishing rod can be upgraded by purchasing stronger rods sold in Clarabelle's Cattlelog (coming soon). A new, more advanced rod will be for sale every four weeks. More advanced rods will be more expensive to purchase and bait so save those beans! Better rods are stronger and can catch heavier fish, but cost more Jellybeans to fish with. More advanced rods help catch rarer and heavier fish. The Fishing Rods are only available in the 4th, 8th, and 12th series of the current Cattlelogs. Once the second series are released they will be in the 3rd, 7th, and 11th Cattlelogs. If your Toon is already beyond the current Cattlelogs you will have to patiently wait for the next set of Cattlelogs. Each 10 fish species you collect will earn you a fishing trophy and +1 Laff Boost, bringing the maximum Laff points up to 105. You can keep track of the fish you have seen and the trophies you have with a new page in your Shticker Book (temporary artwork). Fishing ToonTasks still work as they always have. ---------------------------------------------------- The Rods ( JB per cast / weight allowance / initial cost in cattlelog) : Twig Rod 1 JB, 0-4 lbs. (Not in Cattlelog / ALL Toons start with this ) Bamboo Rod 2 JB, 0-8 lbs. ( 400 JB ) Hardwood Rod 3 JB, 0-12 lbs. ( 800 JB ) Steel Rod 5 JB, 0-16 lbs. ( 1400 JB ) Gold Rod 6 JB, 0-20 lbs. ( 1600 JB ) So far known, the following Rods are able to catch the following amount of species: Twig Rod = 19 Bamboo Rod = 26 Hardwood Rod = 37 Steel Rod = 41 Gold Rod = 50 But I'm thinking in the end it should look more like this: Twig Rod = 19 Bamboo Rod = 28 Hardwood Rod = 37 Steel Rod = 46 Gold = 50 Of course I'm only speculating here, but it would seems a logical answer. ---------------------------------------------------- Trophies ( +1 laff pt. boost per ) : Guppy Minnow Fish ? ? ---------------------------------------------------- Items found while fishing : Old Boots = extremely common found in all ponds Jellybean Jars: 10 JB / Twig Rod 20 JB / Bamboo Rod 30 JB / Hardwood Rod 50 JB / Steel Rod 60 JB / Gold Rod ------------------------------------------------------ Only the first three posts of this thread will be further updated for now! Please keep posting about fishing to help keep this updated. Try to include rod used, JB value, & where you found the species you wish to include or alter. Posting a picture of the species is preferred. Last edited by Scrat; 12-31-2003 at 10:49 PM. |

WOW
Thank you very much. That must have taken quite some time. I was starting to think I couldn't get anymore with my little twig. Looks like I have some fishing to do. I just wish they would offer me the cattlelog so I can buy the next rod. I am printing out your list so I can use it as a reference while fishing. And as a checklist. Again Thank you.

re: The Master Fishertoon's Guide (ON TEST)
do u know when it is comin to open ?
Little Furball CrumbleKlunk ---------------------------------- Only the folks at Disney can answer when it will be on open. ______________________ WOW Thank you very much. Princess Beany Petalwhip and PB Jelly ------------------------------------- Your welcome. I've been taking notes on the fishing since it first came out, so only took me a couple of hours to go through everything and create what you see here. It looks like we all have a lot of fishing ahead of us..lol. From what I have heard from my friends on test, only a few of us got the bamboo rod this week. I'm betting most of us will get it in the next cattlelog. Actually, I printed it out as well. I was surprised to see how close the list was to being some what complete. My sources include this forum, talking to friends, my personal experiences, and from the tid bits of information from Disney's release notes and front page news on Test. The list is far from being complete, but it's a great place to get started. Your welcome again, just trying to return the helpfulness I experienced when I first got to test. If everyone keeps posting those pics of new species caught and where, we'll have a great fishing guide for every toon very soon. Batleth |

actaually my other test toon is able to buy the bamboo rod AND the hadrwood rod. ----------------------------- That's kewl. Your the first that I've heard that had that option so far. Though it makes since for Disney to try to test it out on the lower laff pt. toons first to see how it goes. Btw, how much does each rod cost & can you post us a picture of them? ____________________ Apple Crumble wrote: Can you add in how many beans each fish is worth? ------------------------------- Most fish, you can sell for 3 to 9 jellybeans each. It depends on their weight as to how much you can sell them for. Though if you get a new record weight for a species, then you get additional JBs to their sell value. The rarer the fish is the higher the sell value is. The Devil Ray Fish and All Star Fish are almost 1300 JB each, for example. I believe that the rarer fish are more of a constant sell value than a variable one. Everytime I've caught a Shinny Star Fish, it has had the same value of 159 JB. I will be sure to include sell value in any revised listing of the fish I post. Batleth |
