Fishing Rods??

Currently I have a Hardwood rod. There are some fish that I need to catch with twig and bamboo, can I go back to these rods or will I not be able to complete the fishing tasks because I got my hardwood rod too early?

Hardwood can still catch fish 0-8 lbs.

Twig: 0-4 lbs.
Bamboo: 0-8 lbs.
Hardwood: 0-12 lbs.
