bamboo rod

How much fish can you catch with the bamboo rod? I'm at 99 laff.. and I'm stuck with the bamboo rod for a while. I'm just 3 fish away from 1 laff boost.. And I've caught 37/70 species. I'm gonna race some other days.. I just stink at it.. so bleh.
Can I actually catch 3 "rare" ones.. and when I mean rare, rare for bamboo rod?

Well...I went to lullaby lane in DDL and caught some on the Moon Fish varieties, and now I have 41/70 fish!

You can catch up to 49 fish with the Bamboo Rod although a couple are very tough so once you get past 40 you might just want to wait for the next rod. It's up to you though.
