I came looking for some origional black cat names and what do I find? The same list that I found when doing a web search for black cat names. Word for word, exactly the same. How can some one come up with the exact same list and say it is there own?

where does it say that?
they just left a list of names...it doesn't say anywhere that they came up with it on their own.
and btw...if you are searching the net and the forum for "original" cat names...that's not very original....that's taking something that someone else came up with....i believe that's called "the pot calling the kettle black"....not trying to be mean just making an observation

Very nice list. You will need to bear in mind that there is supposed to be a limit to four words in a name so some of those won't be allowed and there is a limit to the number of characters too (can't remember what that is).

It's in the fact that he did not say he got if from some other place. If you don't state it came from some where you claim it as your own......

There isn't a quote or a "I got this from...." so he is saying these are his own ideas.

So (using your own phrase) where does it say that. Have you never sat around in a playground or on a street looking at the toons names? That is what I was doing. Looking at names. My main two cats that will be black have been sitting in limbo since the first week of October, named. Nothing to do with the holiday or black or anything. Sometimes when I see a name it will spark something else for me and that is what I will go with. What I come up with. I will sometimes get help when what I want is rejected (ie Angel is not accepted by TT...auto reject) so that I can get a different spelling, that is all. I have never taken a name from someone (unless they told me to do it in the case of my little purple rabbit--ty Josh) or I have made a different version of what someone else has with their permission (as with my purple monkey.... thanks cousin).

The point was there was a list that was word for word what was found on an internet page and until the post was edited there was not a credit to where the list was found. Not even a note saying "I found this while searching for black cat names on the web."

I learned to credit the original writer of something in junior high english class while writing reports. By not saying where something is found is taking credit that you came up with it. We do that here on TTC with the quote button so we are crediting the original writer.
