OK, colour me stupid...


Is it true that you need to say a special phrase to Flippy in order to make a black cat? If so, anyone know what it is? And...is it only on halloween, or the whole month of October?

Thinking of making a new toon, and would appreciate any help in advance.

You have to say Toontastic! to Flippy located on the Happy section of your phrases,
And yes it is only on October 31st. From October 30th 12:00 AM GMT at night to October 31st 12:00 AM GMT at night.

Only happens on the 31st...Halloween.
The phrase has been for the last 3 years... "Toontastic".

There is a "trick" that I used last year and was posted somewhere on this board to get your name approved early so you will have it that day.

Make/create your toon and submit the name you want for the toon in advance. After beating the cog, I quit the Tutorial. Quit as in Alt4 or Closing the window. You can check on the name and / or submit new names until the name gets approved. Then wait....and wait until Halloween then finish the Tutorial and use the Toontastic phrase...the cat will turn Black and you'll already have your unique name. Good Luck!

Update: In the time it took for me to type this 3 others have responded... I would question the GMT time since the mouse seems to run off PST time. Just do it first thing in the morning of the 31st.

I have to say I'm a "doggy" toon most of the time, but I really do quite fancy having a black cat! I have a cat all lined up in the pipeline ready to say "toontastic" - name approved already I'm just not sure when I will play it LOL

You just say toontastic to flippy in the toontorial on halloween. It's kind of funny, right after you make yours theres a LOT of black cats in the playground.

Oooo its sooo exciting, Toontastic! even.

Made my very dark grey! cat (stand next to mickey just after you've made one, and tell me its black!), in first halloween they did it. Now thousands have been made.

Thanks All! So you say the phrase AFTER you fight the first cog...good to know! um...Toontastic At least I have time ro rack the ole gray matter for a name then.....

One more thing, it's just cats you can make black right? I'd love a black duck......gal can dream...

Sorry to correct you but TT runs on Pacific time not GMT. If you live in the UK, you'll need to make your black cat from 8am on 31st October and before 8am on 1st November. The UK (GMT) is eight hours ahead of California (Pacific time).

You're correct. GMT is my timezone and I live in the UK. I believe TT operates from the west coast of the US and will be PST (eight hours behind GMT and three hours behind EST).

Yes I have my Kitty name aproved and awaiting the tutorial on Oct. 31st. I would love to post the name.

After I submitted my name (my first choice was rejected OVER and OVER - It was Haylie O'Ween or Hallie O'Ween Candy tried many spellings) I just hit the red x to skip the tutorial for now.

I highly suggest making your cat now if you want to get a name you like.

Just to clarify it for you, when you meet Flippy at the entrance to Toontown Central, he starts explaining the chat to you. When he asks you to say something, that's when you say "Toontastic." Then your toon will change color.
