Only try the laser fields if you KNOW how to do them!

Today I was in Office B with two other toons. We came to one of the laser field rooms. On the left was the skull finder game, which is my favorite, so I ran over to do that one. However, I seem to be one of the few people who has ever played minesweeper and therefore knows how to do it! While I was carefully working to solve the puzzle, this 66 laff rabbit I was with for some reason decided to charge headlong into the minefield and hope they could get to the other end. She hit one of the skulls, activated the laser cogs, and they killed me. We could have won the DA if she hadn't done that.

If you see someone who obviously knows how to do a laser field puzzle, just sit and watch them work. Do you think they want you to charge in thinking you know better only to mess the entire thing up?

Oh, and what's with this charging into the laser fields? I have had to battle SO many holograms simply because someone thought they could get to the other end simply by running through the laser field and making sure to run in a straight line. What in the world gave you the idea that that works?

Agreed. They're all easy to me except for "Avoid the Skulls" and "Skullfinder". I can do the other two. But I don't want people running to the end when I'm trying so it messes up.

Well, to avoid inflicting such punishments on others, I started out by going in alone. (You can guess the result. ;-)

Its too bad they don't have places to learn the games without affecting the fate of others, but it helps to remember that it is just a game.

I have no doubt that the bunny learned something from the experience.

A set of hologram skelecogs is composed of 10 and 11 levels, same as in the mints.

Same thing happened to me. Someone else was playing mine sweeper, and on the other side was avoid the skulls, so I didn't try either. Then someone tried to play on the other side, made a wrong move, and got us killed. At least he tried, anyway. My message to those who want to learn how to play these games: Learn the rules, then try it in a solo DA office. If you lose, Alt>F9 out of there right away, you won't lose much.

Wait,

So you don't need your suit to get into the DA Offices?

Great,

Now we'll see the little Toons..

Again!

Can't Disney keep them away from our Offices!

I went through an office this morning where one toon thought he owned all the puzzles. He never gave anyone a chance to complete them, he had to do them all. And on the one that I *thought* I was doing, he glitched it and that puts an end to it.
So I understand that you want to get thru quickly and you know how to do the puzzles, mindsweeper is the only one i don't know how to do, but it's not right to think that no one but the person with the knowledge should do it. Also, how silly to think anyone would have to go in solo to learn a puzzle. Use your speedchats and show others how.

I never played

minesweeper, even though it's on my desktop, so I don't get that one, and let others go for it. Now the problem with me is the matching puzzles, people try to help and mess it up or don't help. Two people work well on the matching one, as long as you are both going for red or green. Hate it when, you have two green spaces left, you say can you help me and they start turning them all red.

I understand that if you know how to do the skulls, it's not really very hard, though me like some of us would rather glitch that one, if can. After you done them 20 times it is a timesaver if you can still avoid some. Though I think everyone should try even if they don't know how.

The umbers in Sjullfinder tell you how much skulls are near.

Do you get extra jury notices for fighting the hologram cogs, the same way as you fight all the cogs in the mint for the most bucks and the cogs in the factory for the most merits? My test toon doesn't have LB tasks yet, so I haven't fought through the DA office. Just a thought on why some toons run headlong into the laser fields and trigger the cogs.

I, too, have gone into the DA offices (by myself, not many want to go with a low-laffer and I fully understand that) for the sole purpose of learning how to play those games. They seem pretty easy, actually. I liked the "Avoid the Skulls" game more before they slowed it down and made it easier.

For all you "World of Warcraft" players out there, this topic reminds me of the "LeRoy Jenkins" phenomenon.

Amen.
I may not know how to do some of them,
But I'm a quick learner.
Like I did matching today in Office D,
But then,
I got Skullfinder.
Which I think is the classic stumper.

For everyone who wants to know how to do skullfinder!

The idea behind skullfinder is to get to the other end without uncovering a skull. The first square you uncover is free, so uncover it. The square will disappear to reveal a number. This is the number of skulls that occupy squares touching the square for a number.

For example, this is what the area surrounding a 3 space might look like:

1*2
23*
*11

By careful strategy, you can use the numbers to get to the other side. If you hit a sqare with no number or mine in it, lucky you. More than one sqare will uncover until you have a space bordered by numbers.

I am not sure anyone has really given an exact answer on this amount of points one way or the other , most testers beleive you get more not less, by not fighting the Hologram cogs, and I think that's true too. Still alot of empty rooms in the DA's the one with the layout like the mint will most likely have 3 more sets of cogs.

BB if you running with bigger toons, they are going to use any shortcut they can, I've had to do 30,000 points in 3 days, BW13-BW15, so keep that in mind, if you have done them in all those runs, it's gets old.
