I've had toons do that to be before, and it is frustrating. My tactic for stunning him is to throw pies constantly, adjusting my aim a bit until they are hitting the door. Toons desperate for a toon up, even though they don't need it, OR they haven't been jumping on cue, jump in front of me and interfere with my attempts to stun him. Irks me to no end. If they would just let me work, he'd be going for a trip off the edge long before they would truly need tooned up.

I have to add to this. Last nite I joined a VP run with the Cold Callers Guild. My toon is a 91LP, Telemarketer 5 and I was one of the lower cog suits on this run. Part of the group was a 27LP toon. I realize some people intentionally keep their toons at lower LP and try maxing out certain gags, but where are you going with 27LP in a VP fight...it was a constant TU battle! A good battler but 1 hit put his toon in danger and in need of TU, rather than being able to devote higher gags to battle. By the end of Round 2, there were only 2 of us on our side and when we went to the other side we both had to join in as there were only 2 toons left on that side. So the pie fight began with 4 toons and when I went sad there was only 1 toon left (sorry I left you!). If people are trying to go into the VP or CFO battles with such low LP toons, I think they should do so with their knowing friends, rather than subjecting unsuspecting strangers to this.

You did mention that you were one of the lowest suits... what suit was the 27 laffer? Sounds like he was probably above Hollywood 20 (2 extra laff boosts). I'm wondering why it was a "constant toon up battle"... sounds like CCG strategy wasn't followed. That's too bad (for you AND the 27 laffer). The CCG pretty much IS "knowing friends". I'm sorry that you don't feel comfortable with an uber toon. My suggestion is to learn from them rather than blame them (not trying to sound harsh). Sorry to the original poster, sounds like a tough battle, hopefully next time will be better!

Alas, the person running the 27 can't tell what the other people are going to do. If this was a CCG run then lure left/kill right should have kept that toon alive. Yes, lure may miss but that is just something in the game that can't be helped. If you didn't lure or tried to sound the cogs and they were to big to be killed then that was your mistake. The VP is easy enough now that anyone who has earned their suit, be it a 15 laff or 120 laff toon, should be able to complete the dance at the end. Imposing a limit on the VP tells me that you are not comfortable enough with yourself or your gags. As someone else stated before: If you feel comfortable enough to VP/CFO with 8 toons exactly like you then you should go. Otherwise, you should wait until you do feel more comfortable. |

If you don't want to do VPs with < 60 laffers, don't. There are plenty who will. |

Your toons aren't listed under your profile but I do see you have a join date of 2002. Well playing that long, albeit people do take breaks and such. You should know the many phases that TT has been thru over the years. Not loosing suit parts, doodles, doodles in battle, GSW, and cashhq since I join back in July 04. With doodles in battle the ubers really recieved a fighting chance since some people are like you and "look down" on their fellow toons. I do know what variables the game throws at you BTW. Talk about being rude! I will have you know that I stopped growing a toon for a bit and happened to freeze it at 27 laff. She VP at 27 laff until she reached Mingler status. I then let her grow up and she is not currently 105 laff. Also, just so you know I have a 117, 2 105's, a 87, two 85's, and various toons under 20 laff. All have there suits to VP and all will accomplish a first VP before they exit DG. I'm sorry but OMHO the people who "Want a laff limit imposed on the VP" are not comfortable with there playing style. You should check out test someday! The VP runs are fun and people don't worry about laff or suit levels and it shows you just what a "little" toon can accomplish. I conclusion I am making screens of your posts and will upload them to another site...always wanting a good laff over there anyway! |
