Laff doesn't matter
In my opinion, there is no "optimal" laff for doing a Mint. I've taken friends through the Coin Mint who only had about 55 laff, and they survived just fine. It depends upon your gags and the gags of the people you go with. If you're with some strong friends and they have good toonup, you can make it through the Coin and Dollar without a problem. Your toon just has to be able to take a couple of hits from some level 10 and level 11 cogs in case gags miss, because that's what you find in there.
Here's the best guideline I can offer: if you have been surviving 5-story buildings in Dreamland without problems, you can make it through the Mint. You should know that the difference between the 3 Mints is only in the length of the run, and all runs are not the same. I've been through some Bullion runs that actually seemed easier than the Dollar Mint! I would also recommend that you go in with friends only your first couple of times. There are some puzzles in there that can be a bit challenging at first, and only your friends will have the patience to help you work them out. Good luck to you! Squeek |

Ive gone in the Coin Mint with people in their 60's and 70's, so I would say 60+ for coin mint.
Dollar they need to be at least 80+, or anything around that. Bullion, I think they should be at least in their 90's. I have gone in with lower, but only because she is my sf. |

Laff & Maxxed Gags do NOT matter....what matters is Teamwork and knowing what can take out a cog. On OPEN this would never happen unless you have friends who are willingly to give it a try but in TEST it happens often and with randoms and Non-SF friends. In the last 2 weeks I have done 2 bullions in Test on my low 70-something toon that is not maxxed (gags – Fog 9200; Storm 8900; Cake 8900; Goggles 7900; Trap – New Sand; TU – Dust). Here is info about the other 3 toons on one of the runs - A 63 Laff toon that was about 1000 points lower than mine plus no trap; a 75 toon that had max Squirt & Throw but 5500 sound (Ele Trunk) / No Goggles. Plus a new Bear that was in the 80s – Blue magnet; band new Fog; 8000 on Throw & Squirt; 1-Ton drop…. Everyone had Pixie Dust as the highest TU. Every one made it…. First time a fog was used everyone else (thinking like a big max toon) used Ele trunks and guess what all 4 cogs were still standing…LOL We took our hits and Lured / TU and did it again. The next time we used 2 fogs…. We learned quick…lol The same type of problems happened when a non-max Cake was used. At one point there were 4 skellies that would not lure…. Took 4 lures… 1 would lure the rest would TU. Finally we used a sand trap…didn’t kill but lure finally worked…..lol.
One on the biggest things some toons need to learn is that “It is OK to Pass” and when to pass. It’s only jellies so give it a go…. Makes your blood pump harder and it makes for a real challenge. |
