How to beat lava room in factory?

You don't have to do the lava room on the shortest route to the foreman, so I'd never done the lava run until a couple of nights ago when I figured I'd see some more of the factory than I had to that point.

Apparently, I lack skills.

I tried about a dozen times to run through the gears blocking the catwalk, and got knocked into the lava each time. What's the trick?

Keep running straight but try jumping as you run. You should hit the gear face first and not get knocked off so easily.

Jumping is the trick..... line up in the middle of the moving belt and JUMP JUMP JUMP (don't stop) as you are moving forward. I sometimes have to make a correction (turning slightly back to the left or right) near the end but I usually get straight thru it.

Also line up on the lefthand side of the stomper alley and jump jump jump and run. You may actually find yourself on top of the stompers and there is a very rare chance that you can get into the "grey" too.

Good Luck!

Lava room

I had trouble with this myself. I always take brief steps forward by tapping the arrow key to keep myself from being pulled backwards with the floor. This keeps me still long enough to time the gear and run through after it's out of the way, then stop and start stepping again in order to time the next one. Each gear is turning a bit faster than the last one so you have to learn their patterns and time it to run through. Once I had that pattern down I could run into and out of the lava room with no trouble at all. Coming out you're running with the floor so if you time it right you can just run right through. If not just reverse the pattern, taking steps backward instead of forward so you don't get pulled along and then time the gears.

Everytime I come across a gear, I just jump and keep running striaght. Sometimes, you need to adjust where you are running to avoid the gear from pushing you off the bridge.

I tend to have more trouble running into the room, but I have no trouble getting out. Try practicing more, that will help.

I run into the front of each gear which is easier than timing the gears as the pass. when you hit the front you get stopped but as the gear moves you pass through the space without getting pushed.

I agree. On the last one, even though you start on the left and run as soon as you can, you will sometimes get hit and it may knock you into the lava. If, and only if, you get hit this way then just jump before you get knocked in. But jumping is only sometimes required on the last one: The first three are pretty easy to make it past using no "tricks".
