I'm tired of this...

Those who know me know that I'm not the one to rant, so those who know me know this must be pretty bad for me rant about. (That's a mouthful!)

It all started when I decided to go for a late-night VP. We didn't have many, elevator shuffling wasn't very much a problem. I thought it would be another win, and a small step closer to another laff point. I was wrong.

We had a 32 laffer with level three toon-up and level four throw and squirt. Now actually, the problem WASN'T with the low-laffer. In fact, they didn't play too badly. The real problem is the evergrowing rudeness and lack of forgiveness.

We got to the skelecogs, and I got stuck with the 32 laffer, and I had turned the music off, and turned on one of my MP3 Files. It created a bit of lag, so we choose our gags, and while we were using our gags, I had a bit of time to turn the music off, so I did.

I pressed the little window button so I could shut down the program real quick, and the computer froze. I waited, and hoped that my fellows toons and I wouldn't lose because of this.

After a short time, the computer unfroze, and I found I was still alive but the 32 laffer was gone.

I said "Sorry, I was delayed." , but got no reply. I hoped that they would understand that may something may have happened, making it IMPOSSIBLE for me to help them for the very, very short time I was gone.

It was our turn to choose gags, and I said "Let's use sound!" and the other two toons said "OK" . One very quickly choose Elephant Trunk, so I choose my highest sound gag, which is also Elephant Trunk. The remaining toon choose his Foghorn.

We didn't kill the cogs, but one of them was in red and the others in orange. "You are a genius!" one toon said, obviously a sarcastic remark about my intelligence. I said "I think you should choose lure." , and then I choose to heal, yes HEAL this rude, jerk of a toon.

What happened next was very, very terrible, and shows how toontown is changing to a game where everyone thinks about themselves, and ONLY themselves. So they then BOTH passed, as if my toon-up was going to do get rid of the rest of the cogs.

I healed the toon, and he said "Stop that!" as the cogs began to attack.
Of course, the cogs had only one target: me. They attacked me because I was the only one using a gag. I lost all my laff points, and didn't hear anthing from the other toons but the animal noises of the two Secret Friends.

They never had to choose sound when I said we could use it. They could have just said "Let's use lure!" . Instead they went along with sound, and blamed me for it. Also, I never wished or hoped in any way that my computer would lag, or freeze, so don't blame me for it.

I'm just getting tired of this. doing a VP fight seems so hard because now everyone wants to be the star of the show, and only help people if they get something in return.

I do understand how you feel, and this has not just happened to you. I, luckily, have never been killed in a VP, though I have been killed in many things(Including the last battle of a mint, with a needed, 8900 cogbucks). I am not going to say it was your fault, but I am sure you know how tough the VP is. When going in, you need to do NOTHING that would cause lag. This INCLUDES listening to music from the computer. Our more lagged players, need to even reboot before doing a VP. I have a pretty fast computer, so I do not have to do certain things, such as reboot before a VP. However, I try not to do anything that causes lag. Though, I do stay on my Yahoo! Instant messenger, because I have great friends on there I look forward to playing with, and if yahoo causes me lag, I would much rather have them to talk to, than to save myself from being killed in a VP. If I were, I would have to take responsibility for my actions upon doing so, and understanding why the others killed me. If you would have not had anything open but toontown, that 32 laffer may have lived. I am not trying to blame it all on you, but it is possible. Of course, you may have lagged anyways, who knows. If I were you, next time I would not listen to MP3 while in a VP, unless of course, that music listening to means more to you than winning a VP, if that is the case, by all means go for it, just don't take it to heart when one of those rude toons make you go sad again.

Back to the topic... I've used music files before while playing, and I never have had problems. I obviously never saw this coming! I've never had any problems with Toontown, and as soon as I noticed it lagging, I went to shut down the program causing it. In fact, I had run music before the VP, that same day, and didn't have any problems.I can't explain why THEN, at that very time, it started to lag.

Maybe we were doomed from the start... Maybe... Could we have been?

I'm off to ponder if we're set to win or lose before the games starts...

Everywhere? lol. I do that alot at this time, keeps the forum going.

I understand completely, but yes, these things CAN cause you to lag. Though it hadn't before, you now learned something new(I guess you could say). Things like this happen, and you have to deal with them. It depends on who you're with. Sometimes you get lucky, and the people are nice enough to say "Ok, No problem". However, you did not get this reward, you were killed. Which is exactly what I meant. You should not have been killed, and therefore I AM with you. But, we can't necessarily blame the offenders. Who knows, that could have been their friend that died. Anyways, I will leave this thread for the views and opinions of others, I am done with mine,

Yeah, I guess I did learn something today. Never listen to music bigger than 125 kb during a VP fight. (And what does that leave me with? :P) Maybe I should just stick with the music already used there! (Ouch! That's the 59th time I've had to hear it!)

Maybe I didn't deserve to get tooned-up. Maybe I deseverd to die, or never even go in! Maybe we weren't supposed to win. Maybe this event was to become a twisted way of how everything works out for the better... Maybe we'll never know...

I got into that same situation later, but I was in the other toons shoes. Minutes later I was back in the VP, and one toon wasn't using any gags after a toon made the mistake of using his Whole Fruit Pie on a lured level 12.I rembered what happened earlier to me, so I tooned him up while he was gone.

In the end, the toon stopped using gags only because of the mistake the little toon made in bad gag choices. When the little guy got his points taken away, the bigger toon said "Ha ha!" , and chose lure, while I used toon-up. The lure didn't work, and I lost my laff, too!

I lag...many of my friends lag...it happens. I wonder if it is possible they were also lagging and the chat phrase timings were off and made it look like they were bad mouthing you when in fact, they weren't? For example, they did think your gag choice was a good idea and they didn't time their response properly..."stop that" could have been meant for the cogs, not you? as for not choosing a gag? Perhaps a freeze up as well? It sounds far fetched but something like that has happened to me...the difference was my friends were SF so they were able to explain it. I wish I were right, I'm most likely not, but I do try to see the bright side. Good luck in your future battles.

I hate when toons do that too you. I had a "friend" he was a royal blue dog,105 laff points, medium sized, downright mean dog. We were in the mint at the last battle and that dog got in by himself he was low on laff points (not my fault) and he pressed the pass button so all 4 cogs hit him. Then we he lost all his laff points he whispered to me You stink! Then he took me off his friend's list. I was kind of sad but when I saw how he treated 15 toons then I was not so sad.
