new VP behavior?

I have been an avid fan of the VP battle since it came out. I went today for the first time in over a month.

I stun from close and to the side with a straight shot, thats just what I do.

From the rear there was no difference, except he kept sitting down and swatting at people. I thought someone infront was running into him trying to make him sit down. It was disrupting so I say stop that a few times.

I hit an amaisingly good percentage of my shots and we were down the hill in no time. I go around to the front when I cant fit behind anymore, go in at front left corner to dip in for a shot and he sits and starts to swipe at me.

I never touched him, I didnt take any damage because I backed away before he swatted. The way to stun from front isnt the same anymore. I like to stand close and dip closer still to avoid the "net" of bolts. If I attempted that with this new behavior he would be swatting the whole time.

I am able to run in and fire a pie successfully still, but it is an added element yes?

Has anyone else noticed this? Sortof like a sensor when toons get close to the front edge?

I've noticed that too. It seems to me that when I stun him from up close in the front, he moves slightly forward as he is stunned and if you (the stunner) or another toon is too close (but not close enough to lose any points), then he will crouch down and swipe at you.

I've found that I now have to stun and almost simulataneously hit the down arrow key just to keep him from doing that.

It does make it more difficult now to finish him off.

This is what I have experienced in my 100s of vp battles:

1. Sometimes the vp is a jumper. No matter how good of a team of stunners and pushers you have the vp seems to jump and jump and jump.

2. Sometimes the vp is a thrower. He keeps throwing gears and showers of bolts and rarely jumps or bats.

3. Sometimes the vp is a batter. He crouchs down low and bats his hands at the pesky toons surrounding him.

4. Sometimes the vp is a combination of jumper, thrower and batter. This is the most common vp I believe. He usually does all 3 of these things.

To me, the jumper vp battles are the worst. Someone once gave them the term, "Impossible VPs." Not that you can't win them, but that they are the most difficult.

I think you found youself in a "batter" vp. One of the rarest kind.

Just my analysis, who knows, lol.

I dont mind those attacks, and I have also noticed that some VPs will tend to one of those more than another.

Have you noticed this new behavior reciently though? The batter that is. It used to be that he would only swat after someone ran into him. Now it seems he will swat just whenever he wants....

offtopic : all of you M.A.S.H. toons rock!!

hehe

I agree, I also think that VP's and CFO's have different strategies and difficulties that are chosen at random for each battle. I guess the factory workers can't remember how to wire them.

I think that the most common is the thrower VP. Another very common one is the combonation VP. Throwers are easy if you can dodge the gears. If you can't you'll be taking heavy damage. I think that combonation ones are much more difficult, but much more fun. They keep you one your toes without the monotony of having to dodge the same attack. Jumpers are pretty easy for me, as I have a fast computer. Laggy toons will find jumpers the hardest. Even I can't dodge all of the VP's jump attacks when he's a jumper.

The swiper ones are indeed, the rarest. I believe I've only witnessed about one or two of those. I agree, that there is nothing worse than being up close to him and having to back off do avoid his swipe. The swipers like to guard their doors by swiping at toons trying to throw pies while their open.

Also, I believe that there are different degrees of "stunnability" to VP's. Some of them stun really easily and go very far when stunned. Others need a clean direct shot from very up close, and don't go too far after stunned. Or maybe this is just me.

Obviously an easy to stun VP is an easy battle.
