ya know that happens to me all the time! Honestly I think everyone misses a "safe" shot sometimes though....

sorta pressure though when you look around and see noone else even swingin a safe to try... they know you can do it and are waiting with their goons... he looks at ya and you have just enough time to knock the safe off and then get hit for -10.

Its all chance and skill as to if you hear the awesome "clung" sound or the "thik" sound.

keep trying and dont give up faith in the random groups, you will see an awesome shot come from the least suspected places sometimes!

yeah, and what Ernie said!

I do not agree that it is the stompers' JOB to protect the crane operators, but it does help. When I stomp, I try to protect the crane, but if the choice is stomping a goon (especially orange or red cap) or preventing the CFO's gears from hitting, I always go for the goon!

When I am on the crane, I try to watch for the gears myself and I jump off and out of the way. By the time the crane is ready to accept an operator, I am waiting in front of it.

Talking Everyone needs a chance to learn

For one thing the safe does fall on the head of the CFO when he is idle for to long. That means when he hasnt been hit with a goon for a few minutes. I learned the crane from Master Knuckles Tricktoon. I have thrown the safe before when he was dizzy, and it ended up on his head. But things happen. We have all been beginners at one time, just give them a chance they will learn. If you die go get laff and try again.

Also, another reason that hitting the treads to prevent him from throwing gears might now be such a good idea:

If someone DOES stun him before he throws those gears, hitting his treads will cause him to lose his stun.

I've seen this happening alot lately. When I mentioned it to some sf's, a great majority of them didn't realize that happened.

And guess what? if he loses his stun and someone had a safe on the way, that safe turns into a helmet! So if you are going to run into his treads, not only watch the CFO for his gear aiming, but also check out to see if anyone is about to throw a goon. If there is a goon on its way, skip the treads. Lack of stun and a helmet has a greater potential for damage than one set of gears thrown at one craner.

Kehawin, thank you for the new info!

I hadn't realised that the CFO loses his stun if a toon runs into the treads, but I have never seen him throw gears while stunned either. I have never had a reason to run into the treads while he is stunned. The only other time I have run into the treads is when the craners are having a hard time knocking the safe off of him. When he is about to throw the gears, he does stare at a specific spot for a moment first.

I thought it would be a pretty easy run. I can't say but SO much.... I am not to good at the crane so I try to leave that to the more experienced players... HOWEVER, I think only 1 MAYBE 2 people knew how to work the crane.... OMG IT WAS ROUGH...... and everytime i at least tried (since no one else was trying the other cranes) they wouldn't protect me from the goons. So sure enough.... ONE BY ONE.... we all died. When I died there was 2 barely living... needless to say it was a failure. THAT STINKS!

So regardless of laff pts..... i guess u just NEVER know what/whom you are going in with
Yeah, three friends of mine were in there. I couldn't as I needed more bucks. One of my friends got disconnected during the cog fight. Bad luck.

Sometimes you enter with a group of 7 great stompers but no craner. I know from my friends that they are much better in stomping than in craning. I'm the oposite. I'm a perfect example of an "ouchie stomper", but I'm okay in craning. But even with a experienced group of people it sometimes doesn't work out. Once the red goons come out and you dont hit the CFO right away many toons have to leave the crane to not get hit. The problem I've seen is:
When the cranes are abandoned the CFO gets a helmet on. So, nect time you get on the crane you have to knock it off. By that time the goons arround you force you to leave the crane again before you can throw another goon at the CFO. Once you get on the crane again the CFO is again wearing a helmet. Thats when most toons are going sad.
If you have a good group of toon they might coordinate better so two are at the crane to knock off the helmet and throw a goon and the other toons are protecting just the one side with the two craners. But going in with a random group just doesn't work that well.

How do you know before entering the elevator, that you have four craners and four stompers? Do you want to add even more shuffle by trying to get the perfect team?

Best way is, get on the elevator, stay there and get in as often as possible. Thats the only way for you to get more experience and maybe YOU can make the difference. If you go sad you still got more experience.

If nobody would shuffle at the elevator, it would only take you a few minutes to regag and toon up and you would be back in there with a fresh team to try again.

I don't think we are talking about the same group... I don't recall missing a person after we finished the cogs. Either way, we weren't good enough to really even get to the red goon part. We saw MAYBE A FEW..... LOL

Question. I craned for the second time last night and finally started to get the hang of it. At one point the CFO had a safe on his head. I tried to knock it off with another safe but it just bounced off. Is there something special you have to do to knock the helmet off?
