Factory Runs :: Short vs Long
I have time the Runs of Short Run vs a Long Run in a Factory.
This is what I found out. Short Runs are faster than Long Runs. Here is the math behind why short run is faster. Factory Time Short Run: 7 Minutes Long Run: 12 Minutes Factory Merits Short Run: 136 Merits Long Run: 194 Merits How Longit takes to get 5500 merits: Short Run: 4.72 Hours (40.5 Factories) Long Run: 5.8 Hours (29 Factories) Merits Per Hour: Short Run: 1165 merits (8.5 Factories) Long Run: 970 Merits (5 Factories) Long Run VS Short Run It takes 1 Long run to make up 1.42 of a short run. *Short Run Data is based off of this order of Factory:
Total Regag Plus getting merits (Founding Data)

I'll test this later (5500 Merit time). However what is being said is that the short run is 5 minutes per run faster and gets you only 50 merits less than the long run.
So let's figure out how long it'll take me for my 5500 merits using both run types: 5500 Merits : Short run : 147 Merits per run = 38 runs = 4 hours 26 minutes not counting regagging. 5500 Merits : Long run : 194 merits per run = 29 runs = 5 hours 48 minutes not counting gagging. Now that seems like a big difference but let's add regag time. We weren't told what kind of gags were being used (sounding through I assume) so either way you'd likely have to regag after, and assume you're running with someone and use the method of one of you staying in SBHQ... Let's say it takes no more than 5 minutes total for your team to regag... Short run regag time 3 hours 10 minutes Long run regag time 2 hours 25 minutes So we get a rough estimate of : Short : 7 hours 36 minutes Long : 8 hours 13 minute Assuming all the assumptions made are correct.

because I can never do a long run in 12 minutes. I'll try timing it, but usually at least one round of gags will miss. Also, unless you're in with friends everytime- this can't be done (at least not by me).
Right now I'm at perpetual Holly 26. I got burned-out the first time on Sellbot Factory because of losing parts everytime I was booted. The second burnout was because I had to do nine 647 merit runs to advance (not counting parts runs). Now I am even more burned-out because, even though I no longer have to do parts runs, I still have to agonize through a bunch of runs that really don't help me i.e. there is nothing to be gained. At 108 and maxed I feel that I am strong enough to do anything in toontown (with just a low laffer who has toon up). My S.O.S. toons only get used when my 4 year old gets on and uses them. Speaking of S.O.S. toons; they are about worthless. Barnacle Bessie has never worked, and lil' Oldman is really cantankerous. And Vp is really difficult with the low laffers, and I'll tell you why: I don't like to see anyone get killed, so I am constantly tooning up low laffers- especially when they lose 50 laff points because they used a whistle on four level 12 cogs that I just lured. Also, if they don't make it to battle the VP, all is usually lost. Has anyone noticed that sometimes the VP is a pushover while at other times it is a bulldozer? I've finished him off with two others many times. Then at other times, he won't quit jumping. Oh well, enough said. I'll just keep plugging away at my test toon until open has a little more to offer. p.s. Please Don't tell me how one person killed the VP. It can't be done (I know you guys just stood there while he/she did all the work) but the VP reacts differently when one toon is battling versus when one is battling and seven are standing around. |

My wife's toon was the only toon left in w/ the VP on the second level and she finished him off from there. It isn't beating him alone but it's darn close.
