Unhappy Lag in VP Pie Throwing?

I have terrible lag during the pie throwing and was wondering if anyone knew why, and better yet, what the solution could be?
This has only started happening recently but is driving me nuts. I can't see the VP jump so it's a **** shoot if I'll make it and I feel terrible because I'm not that helpful with pie throwing.
I'm a HW26 and a Robber Baron 12 and I don't get lag anywhere else at all....

Last time the only thing that saved me was a CB Unite phrase for Toon Up! But, now that I'm in the land of big cog bucks I won't be getting those too often.

Any ideas?

Lag last night was awful! Even the Cog's were lagging lining up. I know when to jump, but last night I was losing 10pts without seeing the VP jump, was awful. Not sure I want to venture back!

A lot of people are having trouble.

I started having this problem a few months ago and am still having it. I doubled my RAM to 512. Before I go into the VP, I reboot, shut off all unnecessary running programs (including my virus scan), and dump all of my temporary internet files. It hasn't helped. The cog fight and skelecog fight go pretty well but the pie throwing is horrible. When I see the VP is going to jump (IF I see he's going to jump), I have plenty of time to hit the ctrl but Oliver doesn't jump. It gets worse as the battle goes on. Playing in a smaller district helps a lot but there are hardly ever toons in the other districts wanting to go to VP. The CCG goes in districts that have low populations and I try to go with them whenever I can.

Right, it started a few months ago for me too, to the point where I gave up for a while, until CHQ came along, now I'm fired up and want to do it again.
I've tried the same thing, disabling everything I can. I have a fast connection and 1GB ram on this computer so I doubt it's a memory issue.
All I can think of is it's something to do with the 'Insert' key being pressed but don't know how?
I would go with the CCG but I don't want to hurt their chances by being a weak link in the fight.

Anytime I enter the busiests districts, I experience severe lag. I avoid going into them, especially when there can be over 700 in the worst one.

As I found out, you can not rule out memory issues simply because you have high speed internet and lots of RAM. Running any other unnecessary programs will contribute to lag in TT. My biggest factor was my anti virus program. But playing in windowed mode, using an instant messaging program and/or running other programs are also possible issues.

I even went so far as to turn off the automatic start for Quick Time (useless anyway IMHO) and for my husband's PDA backup program. I activate them only when I need them and then shut them down after. Many IM programs also have an automatic start up, I disabled that for each one my family uses.

I hope some of these suggestions help!

I've done all of that. It's got to be the crowded districts that's the problem for me. I made it through VP today in a district that wasn't crowded and lagged a little but did pretty good overall. I threw pies but they didn't go where they were supposed to and I lagged on jumping a couple of times. The group I was with was really great!

My biggest issue is jumping! I hear the noise and I hit the control key but my toon jumps only about 30 to 40% of the time and it drives my insane! A lot of times, I don't even get a chance, by the time I unfreeze, I see a big -10 over my head. Sometimes it's not bad at all for me and I sail through it. Who knows. Now that we don't lose parts, I don't care much if I go sad anymore.

Forget CFO. By the time I've lined up to jump a goon and smoosh it, I've already been hit. I'm pretty much a useless waste of bandwidth in there until either a) I get a faster computer or b) Disney fixes these lag issues. (yeah, right!)

Exact same thing here, Bongo. It's hard to throw pies when your toon is flat on the ground! Too bad we can't hurl pies AND jump at the same time.

We started seeing this issue on test right around the time that Disney told us they did a complete rework of the entire game system. This issue is NOT related to:
The amount of toons in the District you are in.
The amount of RAM or other hardware issues on your computer.
Lag caused from corruption with your copy of TT.

This is in fact a known issue with Disney and there isn't anything you can do about it. It is something on THEIR END that they need to address. We have sent many bug reports about this so perhaps they are working on it.

Having said that, it doesn't hurt to clean up your system to maximize your performance capabilities for your computer.

Do you have a recent performance problem?

This thread is a nice place to start for working out any lag issues you are having on your machine.

Good Luck!

Maybe not but my computer runs a lot better when I'm in a less crowded district.

I had SERIOUS lag in vp a few weeks ago! Everything was fine till I got to the pie part. 1st it got really slow then it finally froze. I couldn't move, but I could hear the others fighting.
I stayed long enough to get the points but I still wish I could have helped out...If it wasn't for Kyle I wouldn't have made it. Thx Kyle.

My mom has been getting frozen just before the pie fight. Twice shes jumped to get her pie and then gotten stuck and cant help her fellow Toons.

Why couldnt disney send an elevator crew to another district before the VP fight? Send them to a server meant for only that purpose?

It could help those who do seem effected by busy districts.
You end up in a different district anyway if you have to bail or log back on.
