Angry Skipping cogs in Bullion???

Why do so many toons SKIP cogs in the Bullion Mint? IMO...that is what the Coin and Dollar Mint runs are for. I have run with MANY toons now that bypass cog battles. I repeat over and over "Lets go fight the Cogs" and "I need to defeat some cogs"...and then get "OK" responses, but they STILL skip cogs...turning it into a <30 cog run.

Does anyone else find this HIGHLY annoying or is it just me? I mean, why go for the long mint run if you are going to skip battles???

yeah me too. ever tried just running into cogs before the rest of the group when they're coming in the same room? it's worth a risk. tried it myself a few times. they wouldn't have the heart to just leave you in a fight. most of them. and yeah they say that because you still get most of the cogs but not all.

what about the ones that glitch past compulsary fights leaving some of the group to fight the cogs by themselves, with toons that dont have the laff or gags to complete the mint without 4 toons. i am getting really mad at this and these people need to respect other toons, if you wanna glitch, do it with sf's, i am gonna report these glitches that are used in the wrong hands to leave others behind because it just isnt right and is highly annoying.
btw i agree with you too Snickerdoodle Dog

If I only have tasks that are like defeat 10 Mints in Cashbot HQ then I'll skip cogs. But if I have a task that says defeat 60 cogs in the Mints, then I wouldn't skip the cogs. Also, part of the reason for my skipping cogs is because if I don't need to defeat those cogs, then it'd be just wasting good gags.

That does make sense...but I think using speedchat to communicate that might be nice. So far, I've gotten stuck with toons that say "OK" to me saying I need cogs and then proceed to skip battles. If toons communicate that as a task, no biggie.

I'm of mixed opinion about this. On the one hand, I know it's aggrivating to waste time because some kids want to play with glitches. On the other hand, I don't want someone jumping in the elevator with a group of mine and dictating policy (not at all suggesting that this is what you are doing, Snick. I know you better than that ).

This has been my philosophy: If I jump on with a group, I am their guest, and will have to go along with thier rules (within reason) or teleport out. If I am in the "host" group, expect to follow my rules - even if that includes camping, playing with bugs or otherwise being stupid, or skipping cogs.

Considering that I never play unless I am in a group, I don't worry about the first case of my rule. The second often gives me pause, though. To be honest, usually I take the "tagalong's" needs into consideration.

Above all, it is just a game, and a children's game at that. Do not be surprised when children play it, and play it as children would.

Couple too many times to be honest and bit the bullet. The bullion mint is for long runs, alot of sixties tp over and really don't need or Want this run, if your task is for any , stay out of this one, unless you willing to help others who need merits.

Oh yeah, I agree. I'm always willing to follow along if toons communicate their intent. These particular groups were not connected, least that I could tell. There have been several threads about shorting runs, hopping after merits, etc and how to use the speedchat. I was just annoyed by the agreement to my task...and then the skipping.

Actually, lots of time I do skip cogs in the Bullion Mint. Some tasks are to defeat a Bullion, so people want to do it quickly. If there is no other group, I will go in the Bullion, but I try staying away if I'm going to go quick. If another toon wants to skip, I'll usually go along. Who knows? Maybe there in a rush or something. It isn't that big of a deal.

I saw this for the first time over the weekend as well. I still can't understand why we went in the Bullion mint only to skip some battles. I don't think it was because of them being in a rush. They spent some time floating around in the grey. I think it was just glitch happy people. No biggy, I just wanted some good battles.

When I go into the Bullion and lately it's been every night, I do all the cogs. I need those for merits.

I've recently been in Bullion with two SFs and a 54 laff hops the elevator. We all need over 5000 merits, so we are looking at fighting all the cogs. The 54 laff tags along and tries to help as much as possible.

At the end, while dancing, the little toons asked to be our friend. Our list being full, we state "sorry I can't". Well guess what, now we stink!

I've been alone needing merits and asked if I can join a group, stating "I need merits" and they ok my coming with them. They skip two fights, and I am short merits at the end. One toon notices and says "lets work on that". All three toons being friends, run to gag up, return and we do the bullion again. Once I have won, we tp out.

So there are nice toons out there.
