I try to avoid too many short changers, but I will go with some. Most of the time they are the ones doing the vator-jumping.
Just had to say that early evening yesterday, Hubby and I went in with only 6 toons--a loan shark jumped and so did a short change. As soon as we went into battle one toon discoed. I thought for sure we were going to die. We were down to five toons--a Short Change, Bean Counter and a Number Cruncer (I think his name was Tom). I am only a Bean Counter and Hubby is a Number Cruncer. Any way I thought we were toast. We had three toons on crane, myself and a cat were goon stompers. When I had the chance to get on the crane...I would throw safes to the other toons or get rid of some goons. I am happy to say that WE WON!!!! So you never know what it is going to be like in the CFO. So there [sticking out tonge] to the vator-jumpers jumping out at the last second, esp. the loan shark.

Just so you know....
And I'm sure most of you do, is that not all SC lvl1's are new to this game. My sons toon, Super Flappy Megaboom just finished getting his parts so he will be a SC lvl 1 for this toons first CFO, but he has taken my second toon Little Lefty Wackystink through many a CFO battle and has gotten him up to a Bean Counter so if anyone doesn't go with him they don't know what they are missing as he is great on the crane or stomping.
Also my black cat toon, Koool Kat just got his last part the other night as well so you never do know. Now that my main toon, Weird Lefty is at his last Loan Shark level and working on getting 5500 cogbucks, I try to have a couple other toons ready to go in case friends call needing help. I guess if that is the case then we don't need to worry about the dreaded shuffle. I am pretty much willing to go with any group as so far my funnest and most satisfing win was in the CCG when we got down to two toons left and worked together to get those final blows in. I wish it could have been a few more as many did hang around for quite a while but it takes a while to get those last couple shots in. Yeah the easy wins are nice for moving up there but are actually kind of boring. Thats kind of why I never went any higher than lvl 20 HW (although I may take that higher) was that after doing all those factory runs, the VP was really a cakewalk for the most part once you got good at pieing the hole because even all the other 7 just stood back long distance chucking, you good be the loan stunner and still do just fine. This battle is a bit more interesting as you need at least some teamwork in it. |

I met up with a 102 and an 87 standing @ the Bullion mint. They asked if I would help. While the 102 was away getting gags, I said "let's use lure" "sorry, I can't" so that they would know I didn't carry lure.
I checked the 87 laffers gags and was a little disconcerted that the only level 6 gags she carried where squirt and throw. She had a level 3 drop and toon up and I think maybe a level 4 sound. I checked the 102's gags. He had level 6 squirt and throw but only level 3 tu, lure and 3? maybe sound. So we stand around trying to get a fourth toon. So I bring on Sheriff Barney Wildgoose, my son's toon that I buddy with a lot when he's not around. Barney is only 50 laffs but has high level 5 toon up, lure, squirt and throw. I have asked my son to just work his gags so that I can use him to do the help a toon under 50 tasks. THere is no reason why we couldn't have made it through. I have been throught the 'mints' many times with Barney and a couple high laffers. Well, the 102 had wondered off when I tp'd Barney to my big toon. A sec later "Barney" got a whisper from the 87 laffer "I think this is too risky' for you. I whispered back to the toon with my big toon "Huh?". She whispered "sorry" "oops" back to me. Then after a few more minutes of standing around, she whispered to the 'risky' thing to Barney again. I 'logged' out of Barney. Then I told her "I need to go" and exited too. Thing is. Even thought these 2 toons had decent laff points, their gags stunk. In a lot of ways, it was too risky for THEM to be there too. So I say, look at gags as well as laffs.

DA You know what I would have done in that situation? I would have just kept whispering to her from your big toon "Don't be mean, Let's go" as soon as she did it. Sooner or later she would have gotten the hint that you had seen the whisper not because she has inadvertantly whispered to the big toon but because she made a different kind of boo boo. And if not, then whisper from Barney, "I have enough gags, I think this is too risky for you" then "Me too" from your big toon. Hee Hee!

You think im underestimateing them? I said USUALLY. It means not all of them are bad, but most of the times, it seems to be them causing trouble. |

More conviction
I just did two CFOs with friends of friends.
As far as I could remember, there were no first timers in any groups, tho there were quite a few short changes. In the first, I was warned ahead of time to try and get on crane, because there was a toon there that liked to jump on crane and throw safes when he didn't have a helmet and goons when he did. Ok, so the crane behind me got taken. I stomped for a while, and when I noticed that the CFO had a helmet more often than not, I found the offending toon, protected her for a while (which she apparently mistook for me not doing much, since there was a toon who was doing circles around the CFO stomping all goons wherever he went) and after the third time of seeing her throw an inappropriate item at the CFO, I asked "May I operate the crane?" She stepped away, whispered OK, good luck, and went over toward the goons. At this point we quickly got the CFO from yellow to red. Then the redhats came out, and since the safes had effectively been thrown to the other side of the room just minutes before trying to get them away from her, I only had one any where nearby to try to kill them with, and of course... you guessed it, the CFO got a helmet from the sky. And miss inappropriate, even with help from Runs Circle Around Boss Cogs and a few safes couldn't keep all the redhats away from the two cranes in our half. So I went sad trying to protect my friend on the other crane. Boo hoo. Was the only one (he made it), so what. Got laff and tried again. Went in with another set of toons I didn't really know, one friend non sf, one I had played with before several time but not on my friends list, the rest mostly short changes. One toon stood behind me, jumping, the whole first part of the yellow goons. When I made three hits in a row he finally took off to another zone. Then no goons were anywhere nearby, and no safes either. I had to stretch to barely reach a safe from a nearby crane to have anything at all, because my pleas of "I can't reach any goons, I can't reach any safes" went unnoticed. When I picked up a safe the first time he was stunned, several toons yelled "don't throw a safe now!" "Throw a goon at the CFO" (or whatever the phrase is) and lo and behold, one single craner had EVERY SINGLE SAFE by him, and was throwing goons at the stunned CFO. They all were. 15 points damage. The guy was barely yellow, and we were on orange goons. Never have I tp'd out of a VP or CFO battle before (OK twice, both times there were two toons left standing and we were sf and agreed to it), so let me rephrase that... Never have I tp'd out of a battle before where no one has yet gone sad and there was any reason to believe that someone might win. That was just ridiculous. I am not arrogant just because I have a bigger suit, but PUH-LEASE! Give me SOME benefit of the doubt!!! Why even get on the elevator with me if you are going to take the safes away from me, jump on the crane when I step away to stomp a goon for myself so I can throw it myself, and tell me not to throw a safe now when that is EXACTLY when you should throw it???? EDIT: Just made friends with another toon that was on that run. She tp'd out of that run too. The toon did the same thing to her. He was a Short Change level 1. UGH sometimes I wonder what I would do without toon town... SOMETIMES I WONDER WHAT I AM DOING HERE

I just thought it was ironic. They were looking a 'gift horse' in the mouth. He wasn't there to get a cog suit, he wasn't there for any other reason than to 'support' the 3 of us. He is a real asset in the 'supporting' toon role. Most of the bigger toons I run with, would have no problem taking him. Many don't even know that he IS me. Most will use him for his strengths such as lure and toon up. Or pieing so we can use our drop. It's funny. My maxxed hypno goggles on Henny Henlopen usually miss in the Cash qtrs. But Barney's blue mag seems to drag them in everytime. LOL What's up with that? I just think that that toon didn't really have a good sense of strategy or she wouldn't have said what she did. Isn't it sad?
