Sole Survivor

Greetings...

Today was the first time I experienced these SOS Card Collector Bailouts.

At least they had the courtesy to wait until after the Melees. 2 bailed right after the pie fight started. Leaving me and 1 other 100+ with 4 50-80 cold caller laffers.

It was rather obvious - as son as it was known what toon we were rescuing, both of them showed dissapointment... And as soon as the Skelicog melee was over, The rash of "You stink"'s hailed their departures.

But at first everything was going just fine, though I noticed a LOT of people suddenly started calling for toonups. A lot of the newbies were down in front of the VP as we drove him down the first ramp. The other 100+ and I stayed up on the high ground. I being currently a small toon, found it nearly impossible to get a pie in the door unless I lucked in a high arc shot that I couldn't even see. So I concentrated on toonups and driving him back when possible.

As we got him down to the heliport pad almost to the edge, he started jumping like crazy! In one flurry, I counted 5 in row back to back jumps, one after the other, bam bam bam bam bam.... 2 of the newbies on the floor went sad.

The other 2 I had been tooning up off and on as they had taken a number of cog sprays and failed to make a couple of jumps. But it was clear, that the ONLY tall toon was the ONLY one getting pies in the door. So I concentrated on tooning him.

Slowly we lost ground, the VP crawled back up the bottom ramp. I was still fully tooned, and the others had backed away to pie each other back to health. I ran right up to the door, right at the edge of the bottom of the ramp and managed to get a pie into the door, a hail of more pies and we drove him back down the ramp. There was still hope!

But again, the massive number of jumps took their toll... That combined with a couple of really bad server hiccoughs left us all almost laffless... There were only 4 of us left. 2 of the Newbies decided that their health was more important than accurate door fire so they planted themselves firmly in front of the ONLY tall toon who could get a shot on the door. That's what did us in...

Once again, the VP clawed slowly up the ramp. I parked my pies on the tall one, as all the splats in front of him was making it difficult for him to jump at the right moment, and I could see those dreaded red -10's hovering over him again and again.... But I couldn't fling the pie faster than the VP was jumping, and those Newbs - weren't returning the favor! They were just standing there, taking damage and NOT shooting back for laff, OR at the VP...

The jumping took it's toll... The last tall toon went sad, and I knew it was over... Nothing was landing ANYWHERE near the door, so I again attempted a daring close in run, furiously trying to get my blue bar as low as possible to get a few in the door...

As I performed my ******* run, I heard another one go sad. Now there was only 2 of us left, and the VP had managed to get all the way back up to the very caged toon we were there to rescue. The other toon, was short and like me, didn't have any good shot on the door. He was backed up against the wall, under the cage and shredded by flying cogs, while I vainly attempted to find some spot on the lower floor where I might get in a shot on the door.

When he went sad, I knew it was pointless. I was alone with the VP and no matter where I tried to fire from, couldn't find ANY spot that would get in a shot. If I had been a big toon...

Well, luckily I only lost 2 suit parts and my merit requirement is still low so It's no big deal.

The mistakes that people made:

Not accurately shooting at the door.
Not returning toonup pie shots.
blocking fire on the door at critical moments for toonups.
People bailing simply because the CARD was the right card.

Greetings...

When that battle took place I was 104 and had just gotten my last lvl 6 gag - Piano...

Today, I got my 50th fish, so I'm 105....

Tommorrow, who knows....

I didn't say I was a low laffer - I said I was a Small Toon.... A tall thin horse, now smaller than a normal short mouse.... (Small toon mission completed - lasts a month - Ick...)

Amen, I thought it was just me, but since i've been small toon VP runs have really stunk!!!! Can't get a pie in a difficult for anyone to toon me. Couldn't hit the pie slot if my life depended on it.....And it useully does. HEE HEE. My question, oh teacher of how to get drop points (thank you) is why if glitched or "frooze" out of 3 really good VP runs, yesterday i went sad for no reason, full laugh to nothing in half a heartbeat having taken no hits....Have you seen it? By the way, where you been? Miss playing.
