Wait a minnit there
Okay, I am at Mingler level and need 3400 merits, but I don't agree with all this!
First off, nobody owns a particular elevator or has exclusive rights to it. Secondly, I have no problem with accommodating toons who need long runs or skelecogs IF THEY SAY SO up front and don't leave everybody switching directions and splitting up in goon-filled corridors. And lastly, I'm not sure the payoff in merits is worth the long run - seems to me that most of my merits are coming from the big cogs on the roof. When I'm running with friends who can teleport for gags, I'd rather do dozens of short runs - and the side entrance is the shortest run of all when played that way. |

Hmmm
I think that the Duckman was just making a friendly suggestion. You can choose to do that or not.
But the side entrance IS much easier and shorter than the front entrance. Front entrance, you HAVE to do 2 sets of cogs to get to the warehouse, where the side entrance you just have to avoid the skelecogs while you are running to the catwalk thereby only having to do 1 set of cogs. Also, you can get to the 'rewards' room easier.

merit system: (kinda)
short run from the side: 161 merits short run from the front: 213 merits (i think) long run from the front: 581 merits long run from the side: 637 merits if you ask me, id rather do 8 600 m runs, and a short run, than 34 1/2 short runs. calculate yourself, its 34 short runs to get 5500 merits. |

Whew!
I never made more than about 350 merits on what I thought was a long run, so obviously I'm missing something! I stand corrected and I'll look at the blighted map.
I just know that adding about 9 skelecogs and maybe the Oil Room doesnt do much for ya. And I'll NEVER understand toons who want to go the long way and then split up on the silos. |

Help Me Understand Merit Points
Okay, I am a Hollywood level 13 and I am confused about the merits a bit. LOL
I know the regular long run is approx 580 merits. I was also told of a way where you can get more merits by going straight to warehouse after the skelecogs in the gear room, then head over to west and east silo, then back down to the pipe room to finish off those cogs before completing the center silo. more than 600 merits. We call that the 'long long run'. But I am wondering how many merits that is compared to if you do the long run by starting off from the side entrance? Anyone know? And when you go through the side, do you go to oil room or pipe room first? |

the 637 merits run:
this is how to do the 637 merits run in 10 easy steps:
side entrance: 1. defeat cogs in side entrance (stomper alley) 2. go to the oil room and defeat cogs there. 3. go to the warehouse and defeat cogs there. 4.go to the silos, (DO NOT SPLIT UP) and defeat cogs there, but DO NOT FIGHT THE FOREMAN! 5. go back down to the warehouse, and instead of going to the boiler room, take the exit on the left, (when your coming out of the silos it is on the left) and go the room in near the paint mixer. (forgot what its called.) deafeat the skelecogs there. 6. go the cogs you would normally fight from the front entrance, then defeat them. 7. go to the boiler room and defeat the cogs. 8. go to the pipe room and defeat the 6 skelecogs there. 9. go back to the silos and defeat the foreman. 10. GET 367 MERITS!!!

...IDEA: what if there was a whole 'nother VP for the lower laffers? that way, we could get on the vp elevator and not worry! |

They would still insist on coming to the big vp.

My friend at 54 laff went to the VP, and she went sad. I almost have all my parts (51 laffer) but do not plan on VP till i get better gags and have at least 65 laff or so. About this long run thing, i think everyone should stick together. If i did a short run and were to "wait up" for a person doing a long run when i get to the foremen, how am i to know that they did not leave me stranded. How do i know its not just some sick joke played on a laffer that is less then them, and they dont really need merits!! (i know none of u guys here would do that
but grievers would) Also, i am at a point where spliting up would be still dangerous for me, since i have no SOS cards and no lure yet, even if i had someone with me. My point is:If you are a noob, JUST GO WHERE THE HIGH LAFFERS GO!! Lol just kidding. I am agreeing with everyone who said "If you need merits, go with a group that needs them too!" |
