Retarded Noob Question - Cog Suits

We've been playing TT for a while now, but have never worked with Cog HQ. My wife and I usually like to do things on our own, and requiring two other toons is a little much sometimes.

Anyways, I am a 79 with max Throw and almost 6 sound, and she is 104 with max throw, water, sound and almost lure. My question is this: how do we start our Cold Caller suit? I have never been ~through~ the factory. Is that were we do it? We have gone in, but never completed... we usually get killed by those stupid lights.

Thanks in advance! I'll keep reading the strats, but i have yet to find one that touches on this.

Yeah, each time you complete the factory you get a cog suit piece. So you need 10 pieces to start with, then 20 merits, then you'll be able to try the VP. The number of merits you get for a cog is their level divided by 2. So 2 merits for a level 4 cog etc. Not sure if it's rounded up or down for odd levels.

You should be able to do the factory on your own (I mean with your wife). I'm not sure how you are losing 79+ laff on the goons. You know that you can jump on their heads and they will shut off the light for a few seconds? Also, run strategically and you can miss the lights altogether. The boredom of factory runs means that I have made a mini-challenge for myself - getting to the warehouse without losing any laff!

Maybe you are taking a long route? If you go in the front, after the first fight turn left to the Boiler Room. The route from the Boiler Room to the Warehouse has only 1 or 2 goons. Try going in with some other people and see how they do it.

Each time you defeat the factory formeman (defeat the factory), you get one cog suit piece. Once you have 10 pieces you will need one more vistory to get your promotion merits. Then you can take on the VP! If you need help in the VP, check out the Cold Caller's Guild.

Yes, you start your sellbot cog suit in the factory by first going past 10 runs. Then you do a cog merit which gradually gets higher. A completed factory means that the foreman is defeated. Well, I hoped I helped a little and if you need any help I wouldn't mind being your SF, just PM me a code.

hi!

To start your cog suit you need to beat the factory 10 times. The reason is because you required 10 pieces and 20 merits to go in the vp when u are a CC1. The easiest way to beat the factory through the fron entrance is by doing this: Go in the lobby and fight the cogs there a step on the switch. Then go through the door and you will see a little hallway and another door, go through it. Then turn to your left to go to the boiler room and fight the cogs there. Then you will get to the catwal with the goons. This part there is only one goon you have to worry about, wait for him to walk in the direction you need to go which will be strait, no to the door to your left. Then when you pass that catwalk you will see another catwalk to your left and a door to your right. Go through the door. Here in the ware house the goons hit 20 so be careful! Dont run to the door u have to go through the stairs in the middle that lead to a little balcony were there is cogs and switches. When you beat the cogs step on the red switch. The other four orange switches control the four stompers ahead of you. Start stepping on them so you can crush the goons below. When you get all the goons go through the door infront of you it will lead to another hallway. Here you can go left or right, it makes no diffrence, your choice. (Lets pretend you chose the west silo(left))Beat the cogs in the west silo and go through the door and step on the switch. now walk to the east silo and do the same thing. Then when you went to the east silo you saw the middle door that was locked that is the center silo control room. The foreman is there battle him and win and you will get your part.

I hope this was useful(im not a great writer),
Cindy

Hey! Thanks for the quick responses! As soon as I get off the phone with work, I'll see if I can talk my wife in to playing Been on for 4 days, though, so we'll see how this goes.

Also, I found this thread with some good info in it.

Thank you all!! -=) Maybe we can hook up sometime, or, once I get a little more formidible, look into trying to join the CC guild!

You should try going in with at least one other toon (I'd suggest a toon over 103) and follow their lead. This means follow what gags they pick and lag a little behind them to see what route they take and how they deal with the goons.

As to the advice on what route to take, try the side entrance. Once you finish the first group and go through the door, head straight up the ramp to the next door. In that room, there are skeleton cogs walking around. Just walk around them and head to the next door. Open this door but take notice of where the first goon is. Wait until he has passed and turn left onto the catwalk. Next, turn right and head into that next door. You are now in the warehouse. I take it that this is where you and your wife have problems. Follow the wall and head up the mini stairs then turn left and go forward just a little. You are now where you can see the goons, but they cannot get to. Just stand there (if you are on a run alone that is) for a few minutes and watch their pattern. They do not move in a random manner at all. You will notice several times when they are quite out of the way and allow easy passage to the center stairs. When ready, turn right and follow the bookcase to the opening in the center and head up the stairs. Kill those 4 cogs and step on the buttons to kill the goons. Once they are all dead, you can then head to the silo's.

It sounds like you have never been to the silo's so here is a sneak peak. You will face a 7, 8, and 9 level cog on each silo. You can kill them easily by using two FULL fogs if you have them, otherwise you need to try lure. Once dead, you open the button room near them and press the button. You have to do this on both silo's to gain access to the center silo. Once in the center, you face 4 cogs: two 7's, and 8, and an 11 skeleton cog.

Very useful advice.

In addition, there's one or more extremely helpful maps of the sellbot factory. I printed it off oh so long ago but it was ever so helpful until I learned my way around.
