I agree, that's selfish. But please don't go saying what they SHOULD and SHOULDN'T have. If we went by the numerous rules created by everybody, the VP elevator would be restrict to Mr. Holly's and maxxed toons.

Well you may or may not know, but I happen to think you should be over 60 to be in a VP fight. Just my opinion (please don’t go off on me). Anyway there are many people on these boards that made the point that I should take it easy. So I decided to take it easy with lowbies in the factory.
So now when my best SF and me are doing factory runs with just us 2 (normally due to the number of friends we have we always have 4 for factory), we will take anybody that comes in the elevator with us. The only rule that we follow is "you must help". If said toon (we don’t care what their LP is), does not help we do not toon-up. Also, we don’t slow down for toons, we are running as fast as we can, so if a toon is hit by the goons a couple of times and goes sad, it don’t bother us too much. However, because we have so many friends and SF's we almost always do the VP battle with friends (easily 8 people). Therefore we always go to quiet district and do VP. But I am starting to feel really guilty about this. Because all these low LP toons that we are helping (typically between 25 and 60 LP) we are not doing VP with. So probably they are ending up in high population districts and adding to the shuffle nightmare. So you guys who talked me into this behavior, do you all have any advise? I do feel much better to help toons with the factory (some have legitimate reasons for being there, like a toon task), but I feel bad that I am not taking these toons to VP, but others are experiencing all this hassle at the VP elevator! Now believe me that if we feel a toon is a griefer we take great pleasure in watching them go sad in the factory with us. But if they play nice with us we will help them get through the factory. But then what? Any advise to help me feel better about what I am doing, especially from the -people on these boards who advocate we take low LP toons with us in the factory would be appreciated. Now, with that being said, the case pointed out in this thread is a bit extreme. If this toon came to the guild, we would still try to get them through, but we would also try to educate them (if possible) about showing up with full laff, and working HARD on LP and or gags.

lowbies yes/no/maybe
Hi!
I sort of agree with you about how someone with low laff points should not do a factory run...... At 41 laff points, for some wierd reason i received the task of defeating the hq...this was to do a 'just for fun' task, and i did not realize that it meant the hq itself...i thought it merely meant defeat some cogs in the hq area...ouch! So, out of curiosity, i gave it a try.....died not in fighting but along the way by those things with the search lights the people i was with did not slow down for me at this point, nor did i expect them too! what did i want out of that, for them to die too?!? not the idea of having to do this was so disheartening, i avoided it for awhile...but there was no way to get rid of that stupid task! So, i leveled up as best i could, gained 3 more laff points, and the fire-hydrant water shooter, and went to try again (had to get rid of that stupid stupid task somhow, or die trying!) Went in the side entrance with 3 others, and the others were (?I think maybe?) about 38, 70, and 100 laff points. We all made it out pretty much intact!!! All of us had toonup, and we needed to use it in two different parts, but otherwise we did not get hurt much. There was fairly good teamwork in supporting each other's shots, and not contadicting each other, and i feel i helped as best as i could. It was such a relief to get rid of that task!!! My Concern: obviously my group was very very lucky, plus we had an incredible person to lead us (the 100 point laffer-I am so sorry i forgot their name)-- however, what the gwash-darn was the system doing even allowing a toon such as i to choose such a task? Is 40 laff points the cut off? if so, that is much too low! or, heaven forbid, is there no point at which a toon could choose this task?? Sometimes perhaps a lowbie should be protected from such evil in the world, at least until they have the laffs and gags to be more effective..... My Questions: Can the system give someone with only 15 laffs this task? Should the system requirements be changed to only permit, say, someone with at least 50 laff points, before letting them choose this task? Is 50 laff points a good cutoff point? ( i think so, because if i could make it at 44, then 50 gives you a fighting chance, plus you still may be more discriminating with whom to choose to fight with...) my toon is Constance, and i am a small geen rabbit ps-do not be too mean to lowbies....after all they may grow up someday.... pps-do not be too concerned about a lowbie dying in battle...part of the learning curve that has to be dealt with Last edited by Light Blue Rabbit; 04-20-2004 at 01:57 AM. |

from what i read here, most toons get factory or hq related tasks around mid 30s or 40s. Remember elder task is help noobie below 50... But I dont think you get any factory related tasks before 30. I dont have a noobie so dont know exactly.
By the way, me and my SF went to busy district vp elevator. I wanted to see about all these noobies I have been helping get through the factory. Man that was an ugly scene. The lobby was full of toons in various suits and LP's. Lowest I saw was the classic 13/17, and one toon was holly 24 or something.. a bit above me with one less LP. Me and SF went for it, and actually the other holly came with us and the elevator quickly filled up. I thought well i dont care who is with us we will go. By the way this other Holly also was saying things like "lets go" "piece of cake" and so forth. We were also saying that. But never the less an elevator shuffle insude. We ended up with 6 in elevator, and as luck would have it me my SF and other holly got same side. The other side didnt last long, and we took off after the first wave. We thought about continuing (the other toon was not SF so I couldnt figure out SOS status). I really wasnt in mood to burn too many SOS cards for ol' Soggy bottom. So we ditched the scene and I licked my wounds with 4 factory runs for parts.I really think when people say things like we should just take anybody with us through the factory, are not actually going to a busy elevator and seeing for themsleves the havoc. By just walking in I started a frenzy.. it was pretty sad. Im sure these people were not having fun, and it was both high LP and low LP doing crazy things. The low griefers jump on and off to spook toons, and the high griefer blocks the timer and the view. Its sick. I dont know.. Im really re-evaluating my factory habbits. I think I just wont go with anybody I dont know.. They can be 128LP and able to defeat the VP two times in a row using only squirt, I still wont take em with me if I dont know them. Its really too bad cause its actually fun just taking low LP toons with us on factory runs. They can be so fun to watch. Oh well |

If you have fun taking low LP toons on factory runs, why stop? I agree that the scene you described is awful and sad. However, someone is going to help the toons get their parts, NOTHING is going to stop them, trust me. Not the griefers, NOTHING. So why not let them come along and teach them good factory and VP strategy. My holly is always getting bailed on at the factory elevator. Toons jump on and off and often leap off at the very last moment. During one such shuffle, I ended up with an awesome 22 laffer. This toon helped me defeat all the cogs in the factory. Can a 22 laff have Toonup??? This toon did...and had creme pie. Probably a super noob in the making. Great player and it was a lot of fun. Wouldn't have missed it for anything.
