Question Please need advice!

I am 53 Lf toon that can carry 40 gags with...
lvl 2 sound,
lvl 3 toonup,
lvl 5 throw,
lvl 4 squirt,
lvl 3 drop.

What would you recommend that I need to work on before I can successfully complete a VP run?

well 4 toons with lvl 6 sound can walk right thru both waves of cogs with just sound but for you work on tuneup and sound and by the time your 65 or so you should be ready

you might be avle to do it now but why rush it

Anyone know how many cogs you face in the vp? Is it 40? more than 40?

If you can find some toons who are willing to take you right now, go for it.

I would suggest everything be higher. Sound is a big factor in with the VP for most groups. A whistle that does 8 pts of damage isn't that much of a help.

You have lipstick, so that is good..but only for tooning one toon at a time. I suggest at minimum a cane.

You have the cream pie, but you only carry 3 at this time. This is your biggest gag and you only have 3 of them. I would suggest when you get your Bday cake. When things don't work out, atleast when you get 2 birthday cakes on one cog will take care of him. But you can't exactly help out in that sense right now.

You have the seltzer bottle, you rarely see this used in a VP battle cos it only does 21 pts of damage, but still, better than nothing.

Drop is hardly ever used in the VP battle. Its not a guarantee that it will work. The piano is a good one cos it does 120 pts of damage. Otherwise, I would wait till you have that.

Hope that helps. Just work on those gags. But you should know, if a lure misses (which you don't even have yet) and all for of those level 12 cogs hit you, you will be sad.

Good luck

I'd say, try to get you all of them up to the third level. That's pretty much it.

Just getting the cake is not really enough - when you first get it it only does 48 damage I believe. For it to be effective against the higher level cogs you should build it up to at least 90 damage.

Capt Clyde Megabee, I would recomend working on laff and gags. But if you do have groups sometimes that are willing to take then I would give it a try. only if they were good friends and I knew they wanted me along.
But before seriously considering doing regular V.P runs, I would work up my gags some more.

Basically, for everything but the level 6 Lure, when you first get it it does a fraction of the maximum damage. Cake starts at 48, Juggling starts at 90, TNT starts at 90, Foghorn starts at 25, Clouds start at 36(?), and Pianos start at 85(?). Then, as you get more experience, they gain power quite quickly until you hit 9999 and the maximum power. It's the same thing that happens with all of the gags, only on a much larger scale, often doubling in damage.

Here's my take on the VP:

You will fight A LOT of cogs, and I mean A LOT. The average for a bunch of toons in the 100 laffs is about 60 from my early runs. I think when you throw in some lower laff toons the number drops and the level of the cogs drops, but that needs to be tested. On some other runs I've faced about 30 or 40 cogs, so it varies I guess. To be successful you need:

Good throw gags (Bday cake is good)
Good with lure (Hit often with big mag/have hypno goggles)
Good Toon-Up (almost everyone I've been with has juggling balls except me )
Good Sound (Elephant Trunk is good, Foghorn is REALLY good)
Not afraid to face 4 lvl 12 cogs (trust me YOU WILL)

But I think the KEY thing to surviving is HIGH LAFF. You will get insulted out of the lobby if you go in the way you are (no offense, please). The fighting is extremely lure dependent. If one person's lure misses everyone is basically screwed. And against 4 lvl 12 cogs you are almost assured that you will get hit for at least 40+ damage. Add in the fact that Hollys can Power Trip you for about 20 damage a pop, assume that they're sadists and attack you always, then you will probably go sad in one barrage. Get at least to 75 laff before trying VP, IMHO. But if you want to go ahead and try it, be my guest, but brush up on your dancing, you'll be elevator shuffling A LOT.
