Exclamation A new kind of elder task?

From the ToonTown official Website:
Quote:
Dear Toontown Citizens,

It has come to the attention of the Toon Council that since the opening of Sellbot HQ, the playgrounds have been swamped with sad Toons.

These Cogs have really put a damper on our fun, so the Toon Council, Toon HQ, and the shopkeepers have banded together to organize a revolt. The next time you visit a Toon HQ officer or shopkeeper for a ToonTask, you may be asked to take Sellbot HQ head-on; recover Cog Suit parts, defeat Cogs, Skelecogs, and the factory, or even defeat the V.P.

Expert Toons should start training because you may be asked to help lower laff Toons. You will be rewarded for your efforts with Laff point boosts! It is of utmost importance that all Toons do their part to crush those Cogs! Good luck!
Sounds like they will be implementing Apprentice tasks for Cog HQ. Guess this is their answer to ppl shuffling midlaffers out of the VP fights.

so instead of giving us something new and fun to do they give us the same old boring **** and make it so we HAVE to do it! I'm starting to wonder if its worth the 9 bucks a month when i find myself spending more time on boards like this one talking about how boring and redundant the game is getting than I actually do playing the game.

What ever happened to new playgrounds, new HQ's, or how about special lures you could buy and fish you could catch and take home or fish you could catch to heal you!

And while I'm on my little rant some of these contests make no sense at all! The new one is see who can play the most trolley games in 24 hours with different little categories and what not with the prize being....get this.... 1000 jellybeans! If someone played enough trolley games to win where exactly are they gonna put another 1000 beans!!! They should make the prizes something your kid cant get in the game for themselves like a toontown tee shirt or maybe toontown folders or pencils or markers for school or something.

I'm guessing it will be rolled out soon, but it hasn't been implemented yet in either Open or Test. Maybe Test toons will see them with the next update.

[edit]Come to think of it, have these tasks started appearing on Test already?

Probably this is another chance of acquireing more laff like maximum of 120 including the 50 fish, but probably only Max and Tornado can get the max 120...

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Yikes! What is Disney trying to do to us with these new apprentice tasks!!!!

"Help a new toon 50 laff or less Defeat a Cog V.P. in Sellbot H.Q."!!!

And for undertaking this monumental task I could earn...(besides the disdain of most of the mature toons on this board)...a Small Head!

Gee, thanks!

ROF****...that's what I thought when I first saw this task.
When I saw these tasks show up on Test, I sent feedback to Disney which was obviously promptly ignored.

Here's a sure-death scenario for the low-laffer:
2 Mr. Hollywoods, 2 "other" cogs. Lure fails. Both Mr. H's twiddle their fingers and do a total of 40 dmg. The little laffter then gets hit by a single cog gag, thus getting booted back to the playground.

Not to mention, a 50 laffer's gags will be totally worthless with VP except for the first few cogs that come out. Also, 2 or 3 good VP stomps and a few hits with some gears and Mr LowLaffer is sent off crying to the playground. I would've rather seen them put restrictions on low-laffers entering VP, not the other way around.

I have a relatively new toon (45 laff) and I wouldn't even THINK of bringing him anywhere near VP.

Hey Disney......can you say "Game Balance"? I didn't think so...

whatever you toons do, don't ever take one of those help a 50 or less laff against the vp one. And yes this a warning. The help a 50 or less laff in the factory is an easy job so that one is good.

But I got to admit, taking that task WOULD prove for one to have a small head, lol.

I mean as the OP said, at least make it worth the challange. I dont mind taking on the task as a bet, but for all that i dont want a small head.

I want a new HQ, Please! I agree the game is growing redundant. I have started other fresh toons to start over with, but lets face it.... Its not the same the 2nd 3rd and 4th time you max out a character. What kind of Mickey Mouse Operation is this! Now these new apprentice tasks will encourage the "parasites" as I call them to hang out in the VP lounge, where frankly, they have no business being to start with. For our troubles what do we get? Stupid rewards for tasks that will get worthier toons killed! Shame on you ToonTown! Shame.

Well, isn't it obvious that Disney thinks that those toons have a right to be there? Do you want everything to be easy, or do you want something more challenging? I've said in another post a long time ago that I thought those toons working in DG are big enough to fight in sellbot hq, otherwise it shouldn't be so easily accessible to them. I think Disney wants toons big and small to work together, is that so ludicrous? The elder toons have gotten the benefit of helping small toons before, now the tables are turned and they get the benefit and you're to good? Now that's a double standard if I've ever seen one!!
