Bored w/ CHQ yet? Me too..

Are you bored with the VP runs and Factory yet? I am getting there although I am still somewhat driven to get my next levels of suits..

Here are the reasons I find that I am getting bored w/ it. Although it still takes a long time to get through the factory (mostly because of the stupid doors), Its not really very interesting to get through. Its slow enough to be irritating, and not interesting enough anymore to keep my attention. I find I am mechanically choosing sound to get through as quickly as possible with my friends. The VP battle doesn't have any variety either.

It seems to me that even without making it more difficult, I would be less bored with more variety. Different sections in the factory, make it random whether you will meet certain cogs in there or where you will find them, etc.. Maybe mix up the scenes in the vp battle - don't know how I am saying to do this, but just an idea. What about maybe splitting the team up further soemtimes to teams of 2?? With less cogs, but no less difficult?

Any ideas people? Just put your thoughts here, now that you've become a veteran, what do you think of the whole CHQ deal?

I have a Holly 11 & a Name Dropper 4..

At first I was really upset over the additional doors but after time, it seems to me that it's really no different. Once your brain adapts to the changes, it's almost as if no changes were ever made.

Dont get me wrong, I too yelped about those doors on update day. I just look at it like this, it would be no different if the SBHQ was like that from the start. About the only thing that DOES irritate me to this day, is getting shoved into the "gray world"..

Disney at one point had the sketches of the BBHQ and it was extremely intricate. There were trap doors you could become trapped in, as well as stompers along with some other really cool things and this was JUST the factory..

I was becoming a bit bored there for a while, I just grabbed another toon that hadn't been in the Factory or VP yet and it seemed to get my motivation up there again. With having lower merit requirements in the beginning, it doesn't aggrevate me to run through the Factory or grab some SB buildings in DL or the Brghhh..Doing that also allows you to play with the other toons that need the help in completing their tasks.

I do wish that once Holly 12 status was completed, you were awarded TP access to the SBHQ. Who knows if that is part of the "plans", though I hope so...

I like defeating buildings much more than playing in the factory.

I still enjoy the actual VP battle, very much.

Solution: Ramp up merit reward in buildings, to encourage a little variety

Well it wouldn't be so bad if they would stay open long enough.. initially waiting for it isn't so bad as those times when you get stuck a little behind and they close on you or other instances like that example. Though I see what you mean about adjusting, I haven't and don't know that I will, I just see them as badly designed doors.

Well, I hope that there is more variety in the new HQ, but I still think they should add it to the existing one too.. especially if they are adding tasks for the HQs!

I still have my serious task of 200 4 story buildings, but my friends are doing the vp mostly.. so I just do that with them. :-)

I'm only doing the factory to get Mr.Hollywoods...
If there's anything better to do I'm doing it. I have to finish my Hollywoods to get to 91 laff so I'm stuck for the moment.

I wind up shopping, doing elder tasks and a Just for Fun (no colour) instead. I'm actually more excited about getting no colour for more than a few minutes then getting to 91 laff.

Well, I thank you! You Rock! You don't need a credit application! LOL (you seem to be stuck on those as you have mentioned it in another area..hehe) but.. here is the thing. As a rule, I only make SF with other males. It is a rule I have for my house anyway. I am sure there are those out there going "huh?" But it's just an agreement I have with my wife I have female toon friends but only speed-chat enabled and no email or pms.

Hope that makes sense. If you want to find me on the game, just go to the busiest districts' HQs. I am on Eastern Time, and on late at night after 9 pm, usually. I would love your help!!! thanks!

Well I am a male and would like to get more secret friends on my list, I know probably the wrong place to ask but it was brought up here. PM me a code if you are interested. I too play Eastern time after 9pm, have to get those darn kids to bed and get back to my "precious"!!

Last night I got on the VP elevator and low and behold only 6 walked off the elevator and then about 3 more left rather quickly. I would much prefer to get a group together to VP with than rely on these unknown players anymore. oh well. I am at 102 laff and build my gags stronger every day!!

Lefty, I will gladly give you a code, when I am not at work and have access. I won't actually be playing til Thursday though. Sounds like we can work out a good group. I have about 3 or 4 friends that tend to try and go in w/ me regularly.. and it would, indeed work better if it were a group of friends -- we can find a less busy district that way too.

Sometimes those student loans...I guess they get my finger itching for something else to sign...

That's a cool rule you have MG, I completely respect it. I'm not one for bebopping around the streets, I come when called...So it's unlikely I'll run into you because my other junkie friends live in the HQ.

Have to agree, the factory is boring, but I understand it as a suit collection place. Since there are no modifiers for points, then it is not something you do "for fun." Making credits outside the HQ easier, and possibly a new merit system where you need merits by defeating sell bots and merits for defeating sell bot buildings. Something small, like 2 buildings in DDL or 10 buildings anywhere, but still different. Maybe even vary them. One time merits, another time buildings.

I also agree with the idea of a little variance in the actualy factory. When you get off the elevator you can be in one of several places where you still have to get to the foreman. There are several paths, longer ones with easier cogs and shorter ones with worse cogs. Make a choice depending on what you need.

A second factory on the other side of the HQ playground that is mostly skelecogs since that is where they are made?

I think that no matter what we are working on, "fun" should be a given.

I do like the idea of another factory. That would be cool!

I would suggest they make you have to get merits outside the factory to force some variety. Also, on the subject of merits it seems illogical ( not like any of the fantasy of this game is necessarily logical) that in order to move up in sellbot ranking that you are defeating sellbots. It would make more sense that you would go defeat other styles of cogs to earn sellbot promotion.

On the factory itself, I would like to see the quantity/level/type of cogs more variable like they are in buildings.

To me one of the simplest things they could do would be to automatically give you full merits, no matter how many you need, if you clear the entire factory of cogs or bonus merits or something. Last night was the first time I went in with a group that went looking for other cogs in the factory, rather than the same old boring shortest path route, and I had a blast. Some of the little mini games in there are kind of fun actually. Instead of Jelly Bean barrels in rooms like the Lava, they should put Merit bonus barrels in there or some thing new, like bonus 7th gag training slides, you would still need 16 but heck I am sure more people would look to run the whole factory if that was the case!! Exploring the factory was the most fun I have had lately and I wish Disney would do something to encorage it!!

Most of the time it is through the door, to the left, heck I think I run that route in my sleep now!!! Boring!! Come on Disney this is supposed to be fun, not tedious, that is what work is for!!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
