I don't know why I'm responding to this...we've certainly had this discussion many times. However, I have yet to see someone SHOW me via screenies or other proof (experience) that you can consistently get anywhere near the amount of merits in a 5 story sell as you can the factory...which, BTW will net 581 merits on a normal regular full sweep.

I agree that the factory is monotonous and predicitable. I spice it up by going with SF's and by going to populated districts and jumping on with strangers. You never really know what toon mix with which you will find yourself battling the cogs.

At first you only got street gag credit but, the last I knew, you could earn double gag credit from the moment you stepped in and killed your first cog til you defeated the final four in the Center Silo. That's like doing the top floor of a 3 story building with 20 or more cogs in it. (actully 14 - 35 depending on how you choose to do it)

I realize that the factory is just not everyone's cup of tea. For me, fishing is a waste of time once you fill your jb bank. And with fishing there is precious little interaction with other toons, EXCEPT if they are sf's who want to chat about life.

The factory will consistently give you 17-35 cogs where you can earn double gag credit. You don't have to run through streets to find a building to defeat and for the most part, there are always plenty of toons hanging around to help you do battle so you don't have to wait for the troops to arrive. Sure there's a little shuffle, you get that with buildings too. Not defending the factory, just saying I don't quite agree with the reasoning.

and if i had to make the game i would make the vp runs like this:
name |laff points| status |cog suit and lv
Grim | 103 |recruiting |Mr.Holly lv 27
Timmy | 102 | waiting to join|name dropper lv 5
scat cat |79 |wating to join |cold caller lv 3
mad dog |94 |wating to join | telemarketer lv 4

this would make things way smoother so u could just click on a name and teleport to the recruiting toon

Youre quite right, building are incosistant to say the least, i have no proof but i swear ive done a 5lvl build with 45 cogs in it (this is rare though) and as little as 25 cogs in it. Bearing in mind that builds dont match or exceed factory till lvl 3 above, the factory is most consistant way of getting merits.

HOWEVER, why be couped up in factory(which tends to take longer than a build), when u can be out there in helping others and friends.

Take some challenges and do 4 story by yourself or take a friend and do a 5 storey together. Just cause its the consistant way dont mean its the only way

oh and the most merits you can get in factory is 640-650 (depending on how u do it gag wise and take correct route)

I agree that the factory is a drag after a while, but getting ones merits from Sellbot buildings makes a nice change from the same ole same ole......but as someone said earlier...you can't have one without the other. I just chalk it up as a necessary evil, and make the best of it.

Arrow well it's a drag but here you go

If you never lost a VP attempt and got every long run you needed it would take you 677 trips in the factory to reach Level 50 hollywood from Cold Caller level 1. I would guess that I have around 1000 factory runs in my 110 laff toon alone.

Yeah the fact can be fun, if u make it so, i go with a sf alot, when were not trrying to max our traps between us, we try to have fun, making jokes or my favourite is in warehouse. He likes stunning the last few goonies, i like trying to squash him the the crushers.

Still most of the time we just whizz through using sound, especially when 4 cog suit parts are needed.

You said as little as 25 and at the most 45. If you don't belive me it's ok but here goes nothing. I went in a 5 story lawbot building in donalds dreamland with
18 cogs in it!
