My opinion is that the factory is NOT to tough for noobs.
However it's the few low laff toons that elevator shuffle in Cog HQ that makes the larger toons not want you in the factory. Of course you need the larger toons to finish the factory, but that's usually not hard to find or do. Just my 2c Oh yeah, I agree.. the factory can be a time saver for completing toon tasks

I can understand why they wouldn't want you in the factory. It boils down to this. If a high lvl toon takes a low lvl toon into the factory chances are that low lvl toon will want to battle the vp.
This is not a good thing. The battles before the Vp can take upto 25 points of dammage from all 4 toons. Now multiply that by 4 cogs. See even a toon with over 100 lp can go sad at the VP. So they don't want to take anyone into the factory who isn't at least at 70 lp. I am in total agreement. This morning I spent 2 1/2 hours doing the elevator dance because one low lvl toon wouldn't leave. He would hop on the elevator and at the last second hop off. It was obnoxioux and so totally rude of him to do.

Gag Training?
Gag Training!!!!
Lets talk about gag training in the factory or the VP. First as was pointed out you get no floor multipliers (though I'm not sure if this is correct, I think there is a double in the silo) With or without the multipliers, the biggest problem is you only get credit for the last one or maybe two battles you are in in the factory and in the VP I think just the last one. There is absolutely no reason to gag train in the factory. The only reason a low laffer should be there is to get some rare sellbots.

If you have Mingler or Mr Hollywood tasks and you announce them and say "can you help me?" I would take you through. If you just try to jump in the elevator I will try to avoid you.
One thing you probably dont realize is that when we go to the factory we have a plan of what we want to do. We might want to do a quick run or might want to do the whole factory for merits. If we are running for merits, we dont want to babysit a weak player or risk them messing up our merits by fighting cogs separate from us. Also, the majority of the time the weak players will not know the lookout trick so we would have to go fight unneccessary cogs when going for suit pieces, because they usually can't handle even one little bank of cogs by themselves to get through the boiler room. Then they will get sad anyway from the goons on the catwalk. At 34 laff you should really stay out of there. Once you get into the 40s, IF you have a mingler or holly task, it might make sense to go if you are having trouble finding the buildings you need. However, as has been said many times, you will do much better building your gags in buildings than the factory.
