Cogball Strategies

Cogball provides the gag refills of the boss golf courses (like barrels in other HQs.) Unlike the barrels, not every toon can take any gag available. Only winning a game gives a gag reward, and the gag is chosen for us randomly.

However, successful teamwork in cogball gives a nice laff reward to all toons in the team. (I don't remember the amount...it's aprox +36)

Disclaimer: I didn't invest the time to remove the names of the great toons playing at my side. I appreciate their help getting through the courses.

The easiest puzzle is the Aqua balls and bomb ball:

Rapid fire clicking works just fine. You can aim carefully, and get each side removed with 3 hits to the corner balls.

There's no reason to bother with the middle. After reaching the black ball on one side, move to the other side.

The second easiest is the Flame ball puzzle:

Quickly park all the useless colors out of your way, and watch for a flashing wild card ball or a red one.

When the red ball randomly arrives, place it on the first flame ball.
You'll gain a bomb ball from your hit.

Aim the bomb ball at the next available flame ball.

Next, repeat to take out the next row. Note that when I played this round of the puzzle, I hit the flame ball more on the green balls and the red line remained. That's a great strategy. As long as the flame ball is hit so it rewards you with a bomb ball, it doesn't matter if the red line is gone or not.

Aim the final bomb ball at the black ball.

Ricochet Puzzle

I aimed the violet ball to clear the path for an aqua ricochet behind the colored balls to drop the whole puzzle in one hit. I got a red ball next, however, so I did the same manuveur on the left side. It takes one more clearance to get a ricochet path behind on the left.
Of course, if the colors aren't randomly given for that, a straight up the center clearance will work just fine, it's only a little slower.

Red and Aqua with 2 black balls puzzle

Forget about the middle section. Just clear out the corners.

Diagonal Lines Puzzle

If the ball given is a useful color, use it to clear the way, otherwise part it on the far left out of your way. Most of the balls can be ignored as you just aim to clear the right corner. Red is the color I was looking for, to gain a bomb ball. The bomb can be well placed at the base of the yellows or on the green ball obstruction. You still would need to wait for a yellow ball, bomb ball, or a flashing wild card ball to finish the game.

Vertical Lines Puzzle

This ricochet shot with the aqua ball will clear the way for red ricochet shot (easiest way) or straight forward shot that will finish the puzzle.

If a red ball is offered first, might as well aim for the black ball with it. It's a difficult shot because it must slip behind the black ball and not get stuck on the line of colored balls in front of the black ball. I've done it many times successfully and goofed it up many times, so it's worth the attempt, in my opinion.

If an aqua ball with violet ball following is offered, I aim left and clear the way for a red ricochet hit on the balls under the black ball.

The Yellow balls Puzzle



I've not found a fast way to drop this puzzle. The game doesn't offer the yellows when I need them and I almost always have to clear the colored balls on the edges first. I park the nonuseful balls out of my way. Watch for a wild card ball that the game rewards to the team when another player wins a round, and use it for a yellow ball.


The Green Puzzle with nice bombs on the edges


Usually, you have to complete the first set of matching colors to gain the first bomb ball. Once you have it, you are on a roll for the rest of the puzzle.

A hit on another flame ball or question mark aqua will gain another bomb ball.



Aim at the junction of the green line and the red flame ball. It'll drop the line and reward with another bomb ball, which you can use on the other side to get another bomb ball to use on the black ball.


A little bit of everything, multicolored puzzle


They don't often offer quick, simple hit balls for this one. Don't bother with the edges, just go for the main balls that are holding the black ball.


In this screen shot, I'm using the bomb ball I gained from the red flame ball set to hit the black ball. However, often I must complete the sets under the black ball to finish this puzzle.


Violet balls in front line, horizontal line puzzle


Since only one helpful ball (aqua?) is offered on the left side, this puzzle must be solved the conventional way by completing 3 matching colors. You can work up the center and save the aqua? ball for the black ball so you don't have to detach it from both sides by completing the green and the yellow on either side of the black ball. Remember that a complete red set or aqua set on the left will reward you with that bomb ball that maybe behind the aqua question mark.


Dual black balls in center position Puzzle


In this shot, I'm putting the bomb ball on the yellows, straight up the center. If I'd gotten green first, I'd have tried to set the green between the two greens on the right side. It's a difficult shot and sometimes lands on the yellow, slipping past the greens I wanted it to stick to, then requiring yet another green ball to clear them.
A completed violet set on the left gives access to a red set which clears the way to plant a yellow on the wall attachment set. In the end, wild card balls, bombs, or yellows are needed, so it's not one of the faster puzzles.


Red Ball in the Corner Pocket Puzzle

This is a fun puzzle to do.

I put the violet ball on the left so I could drop the barrier to the corner pocket.

I hope I changed my mind, and put that green ball on the left too, so it would increase my chances of getting the barrier removed (that way violet or green would do the job)

As soon as the blockage is gone, it's time for the red ball in the corner pocket. Plant it right between the reds in front of the aqua ball.
