We needed more merits. You get more merits by having an invasion active as you defeat the foreman. Most high laff toons that go through the factory need more merits. We had gone the long way throught he factory, which you'd usually only do if you need more merits. I'm pretty sure we said that we needed merits. I can't remember.

People will say, "I need more Merits", "Wait a Minute", "There's a Cog Invasion" followed quickly by a "No" to tell them that is what they need. Now I admit I didn't understand why the first few times I went in but also I would always wait for everyone to go that way and to get into the fight before attacking.

This person sounds like they didn't wait for the others to join in and just attacked when the cogs were all lined up.

If you are in factory, mints, da, basically any hq place like that and someone says they need more of something wait to attack the last person because they proabably know pretty well if invasion is going or not and if there is enough time to finish before it ends.

To OP: Sorry this happened to you. That is one thing that is messed up with any of these places.

Just make sure, when you run with randoms don't be the one stepping on the switch. And run to the center quick so you can hold the process up until the other toons join .

I don't know, I think you're asking a lot if you expect everyone to understand what you're trying to communicate there. I wouldn't call the guy a griefer just for that. I don't know exactly what was said in this particular instance, but maybe he thinks YOU guys are the griefers for standing around when he expects you to help him finish up the factory. Like, when I was a low-laffer, I had toons bail on me right before the foreman battle just because they didn't think I should have joined them in the first place. But it's not necessarily griefing if he just wants to finish the factory so he can get on with the game.

I saw you! You ran right by my son and I and I was like "That's Blinky!!" And he was all "WHO is that?" LOL I was playing my little sound uber, Lavendar Lemonberry and he was Lemony, we were in the Sellbot HQ grabbing Glad Handers for his MML task. Anyways, I was excited because I don't usually recognise any names from here. I keep thinking I should keep a list of TTC players handy so I can look them up. But this time it was a name I knew, and attached to the right toon! I only had time to tell you that you were awesome though, you were running for the lift.

Anyways, I always felt that they should code the factory to require any toons still present within it to even enter the foreman fight. It wouldn't seem like it would be too difficult to code that in. There's also been a lot of toons lately who willjust take off and keep telling you they are stuck while they are sneaking up to the fight the foreman alone. they shouldn't BE able to do that!

A toon with 110 laff and with maxed gags cannot be ignorant of the need to wait for an invasion when you are running for merits. And there is no way he can be still working on suit parts! So, I agree with Blinky, that was a griefer. Whenever I end up on a run with a toon that I think might not understand that we want merits and need to wait, I will initiate that action as soon as we defeat the first silo. Most toons will not go for the cogs on the next silo if you just stand there shouting or whispering "wait". I have had them do everything they could to get us moving including stinking us but they won't make that final move alone. With a LL110 with maxed gags you certainly wouldn't be expecting any problem but still, waiting at the first silo is a good move. Even a 110 griefer usually won't try to go it alone that early. If he does manage to do it, everyone else should run in and sos their doodles at the last second..that will give you the maximum time possible to get an invasion before the griefer strikes.

Just curious...what level are you in Sell? When my son was working on one of his 5500 runs for a Hollywood promo....he had 3 bad runs in a row...he quit playing toontown regularly after that. It is so sad that toons cannot be kind...maybe they should eat more jellybeans!

If you are waiting to go somewhere with your friends and one of them says, hang on a second, I need to wait for my mom to give me some money...would you just go off and leave them or would you wait???? What kind of friend are you?

I need 5500 merits...that is 7 runs WITH invasions. So if toons don't wait I will have to do 14 runs through the factory. Who stinks?

The nerve of some people who would do that! If they arent going to be nice then dont bother playing the game! People come to ToonTown to have nice fun not having mean people play with them. I hope he never does it again. I just went in with him a couple days ago. Gosh hate things like that.

I think greifers will still find a way to make sure they are the only ones to win in the factory. They probably won't pick gags and just let other little toons fight until they die or maybe win. Just a thought...

Even if he had went in not knowing about the invasion thing, why would he kill the foreman without us? that is definately griefing and he could tell he meant to do it.

I'm going to have to support Tom on this one. Not everyone will know that that invasions give extra merits, bucks, and notices as some toons are less fortunate that others about getting into River.

To me the 5500 merits is mute as I started back in 04 when the factory was very different and maxxed out in 05 using 5 story sell bldings. There are always two sides to a story and you need to look at the other side.

While 110 seems to be a high laff toon at my current level it's not and I can remember when 112 was a maxxed toon. With 6 easy fishing points, 3 golf, 4 flower, and 3 racing that toon could still be working on their cashbot suit.

Finally, I would expect my friends to wait or understand but I think it was mentioned that this toon was a random.

PS - Sorry your son stopped playing but the Hollywood invasion weekend will be coming up in May. You could try to convince him to start playing again at that time.
