Unhappy Am I too low to go into the VP room??

Heya!

New to this board!! Just found it!!

But I wanted to ask if I was too low to go into the VP room?! I am at 66 laff points and have the last track of throw and squirt and almost have the juggling heal. (At pixie dust right now.) But I got my level 1 Cold Caller suit and went into the elevator. Well the other toons around kept jumping in and out of the elevator, and I ended up getting stuck in the elevator alone. Couldn't jump out in time. Grr! Can't stand when people jump in and out of the elevator! lol Ended up loosing two parts of my suit. Also, some of the higher toons around kept telling the toon in Level 1 suits that they thought it was too risky for us. But my understanding is that I have to beat the boss to get promoted?! How can Level 1's do that if nobody helps?

So just wanted to ask if a 66 laff-ter is too low for the big man?

Thanks!

Liberty!

As long as you've got most of your gags(close to maxxed), and you have 85+ LP's you can gp.

Too low for VP

I would have to say that yes, you are too low for the VP battle Here are the reasons:

There are like 60 something cogs in the building with more level 11 & 12 cogs that you'd find in a 5-story building in Dreamland. My rule is to not use ANY level six gags until the Skeleton round which is like 50% of the cogs. You'd run out of good gags before the battle is over.

The cogs can hit you with 20+ points at a time and they like to hit the whole toon gang at once. If a lure misses on 4 and your hit...your 60 something laff points are history.

I'd say, get up to about 85 lps with at least 4 of your gags at level 6. Sound and Tune-up are critical. If you have trap, trash them for the VP battle unless you have tnt.

If you do go in there, LISTEN to what others are telling you to do.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for all of your quick responses!! I thought I might need to increase my laff points a bit.

Which leads to my next question! How do I get the HQ Officers to give me more toontasks to increase my laff points?!?!?! lol I am tired of the "Just For Fun" tasks, lol!

Liberty!

Toon up: 5 tracks
Trap: 2 tracks
Lure: 4 tracks
Sound: 5 tracks
Throw 6 tracks
Squirt 6 tracks

If all of the new tasks offered are just for fun, then you have one or two tasks that are gateway tasks to the next round of laff boosts. These typically are teleport access to a neighborhood or carrying more gags or jellybeans. You need to focus on completing that task and then you will see the laffboosts again. Did you not notice this happening when you completed the previous neighborhoods?

Just for fun

I'm not a fan of the just for fun tasks either. I have opted to not "choose" a task if all they're offering is "just for fun" and it isn't beans. I have been down to just one task to get me to the next neighborhood instead of keeping a full list of tasks. I've done the same thing through Dreamland. I mostly pick the laff, carry more gags, jellybean and teleport tasks. You know you're working on a gateway task when all you are offered are fun rewards.

I thought I was high enough at 103 until I got told by a 94 that it was too dangerous for me. Nobody would get in the elevator with me or they would jump off. So what if I'm a level 1 sellbot, I need to practice sometime, right?

Yeah I'll go with you too. Even if we don't have a standing chance lol.

I don't care if it's just us two in there. If you want to see it I'll gladly go with you.

LOL Thanks Justin and Blubber! Who knows, maybe we can set up a time to go together!!

I promise I am a good 66 laff point toon!! I don't use sound when others use lure! lol And I try to pick off the same cog everyone else is attacking! And I know when to use toon up! lol

The fact that you ask this question means that you're probably a good player and might do well. The bad players would just march in without asking.

It will be exceedingly difficult for you, but I've seen 66 laffers make it. The cogs just seem to last forever.

I hope that everyone is getting a little more relaxed about lower toons in the vp fight. I know its frustrating to have to rebuild the suit because of a stupid toon, but we're all learning and getting better.

Oh, and I lost the suit because everyone jumped off at the last minute, and I wanted to see what it was like (so I could learn without messing up other toons).

Thanks,

-Phillionaire

Yes, I think you could make it during the initial fight.. but just remember that if you do make it.. jump when the VP jumps and jump and move when he attacks at you. Hopefully you will have an experienced VP fighter to guide you through the pie fight with you. If you stay alive by jumping, you can see what the other toons are doing and help out.

Some others will tell you to run behind him and hit the gearbox of the VP when the door opens, and the answer is yes, but ONLY if other toons are not doing it. An ideal situation involves 2 toons hitting the box and the rest knocking him back. I have witnessed more than one situation where quite the opposite is true... too many toons behind, and 1-2 tons knocking him back.

Pardon me while I stand and applaud. This was, is, and continues to be the greatest source of frustration on TT. I would take any 66 laffer (with good gags) that respectfully asked if s/he could join and backed off if someone said no.

That said, there are times, Liberty, when luck isn't with a group and 4 L12 cogs will be hitting everyone in the group at 20-24 each. Do the math: 80-96. Even if I just tooned up your 66, you're still dead. This isn't common, especially now that people are getting the hang of things, but my 102 has been down to 40 or 50 more times than I care to recall.

Having maxed t/u, lure and/or sound would at least help your chances, but sometimes you just can't overcome the math.

Good luck, and have fun!
