yes and no
if you have at least and sf in there that has sf's in there they could help but you would want for sure the b-day cake and at least lvl 4 everything else thast how i went in and beat it... but doing it at under 70 even is more diffucult becasue everyone has to repeadedly toon you up while so it takes longer, and its more difficult

Did you choose sellbot tasks? Too late now I guess but I reckon a good plan would have been to choose sellbot tasks, get your suit, which you've prolly already got, and go for the VP. You're most likely to die the first time anyway (is there anyone that didn't???) so back to the factory for suit parts whilst getting those cogs for your task.
The one drawback to the plan is the amount of gag xp in the factory - not much of it. Maybe you would get lucky and hit an invasion or two

I would go into the VP with you but most won't.
We are all still a little gun shy by all the bugs that have plagued the VP battles. It wasn't uncommon to go into the VP with 8 and just because of discos have 5 or 4 toons half way through the battle. In half the battles I have been in I lose less than 35 lp. In the other half I lose more than 35. I once saw a toon take over 80 damage in one round but that is not common. When you enter the VP area the toons are broken up into 2 team of 4 toons each (assuming you started with 8 toons). Each team fights their own battle. In the VP there are 3 battles. First battle is with 15 to 20 level 1 to 12 cogs (I have seen as many as 30 cogs in the first battle). Most of the cogs are lower level in this first battle with a few 11s and 12s. The second battle is against skeletons, 15 to 20 of them and most of these are level 8 to 12. Going up against 2-11s and 2-12s at the same time is common in the second battle. The third battle is against the VP. You jump up to a cage and are given an unlimited supply of cream pies to throw at the VP. You throw by hitting the insert key. The VP can only be knocked back after a pie has gone in an open door at his base and you knock him back by hitting him in the face. When the VP jumps you must jump or you take damage. The farther away from the VP that you can be and still hit him the better. Your pie range is greater than his throw range. You toon up others by hitting them with pies. You win by knocking the VP back with the cream pies and pushing the VP off the platform. I have gone through this with you so that you can understand that this battle is harder than a 5-story building. You can expect to encounter 30 to 50 cogs very many will be above level 10 and then you still have the VP to take care of. Can mid level toons (50 to 70) fair well in the VP battle, yes. Is it common for them to do well ..... That is hard to answer. Sometimes the mid level toon will use the sound against a row of 11s and 12s that have just been lured when we have all just been hammered down to 50 or so laugh points and the mid level toon is at 25 laugh points. With the kind of damage that the 11s and 12s can dish out this situation can lead to almost certain sadness for even the highest level toon Most of the higher-level toons want the added insurance of experience that most of the toons with higher laugh points have. A high laugh point toon does not guarantee good skills but it helps. It will be easer for others to accept you on the VP elevator if you get your laugh points up a bit.

Is my laugh to low to battle the VP?
Quote:
I have to agree with Rover! I just finished fighting the VP today with a 62 and 77 laff level toons -- with both standing a great chance of biting the dust before seeing an opportunity to fight against the big VP. Yet, this didn't produce hesitation, on my part, to board the elevator with these low-level toons; especially if they desire to live on the wild side for a short spell. ![]() HEY... I've been there myself once or twice! hee hee The quest is to beat the VP so you can gain a higher level suit, which in turn shows other players you have already entered the elevator and defeated the VP at least once. It also proves to the Movers/Shakers, Minglers, and Hollywood players that you know what to expect and you're entering the forbidden zone with consent to die for the fight. On a side note here Liberty: I for one, have no problem boarding the elevator with someone bearing a 60's laff limit. With the rest in the elevator topping the charts at 100+ it's an easy defeat if everyone works together. And let me be quite frank here too: My first battle with the VP was with several 101 players, including myself and not a single 60 laff level among the bunch. Yet, we walked out of there with nothing to show for the fight but an empty gag basket and a frown upon our faces. So for those of you who will not board the elevator with a 60 laff limit, I say..."take a walk on the wild side" and make the fight more challenging by challenging your IDEAS and fight with someone who is willing to stand beside you to DIE for the cause. Furthermore, if we have more Minglers and Hollywood players that were willing to show newbies the ropes, we would have less toon death during game play. Just my "doggie sense"...

dance o' doom
I had a fun dance this afternoon (as Captain Flapjack). There were to level one cold callers waiting to go in. To top it off, they were under 60 and not fully tooned up. Who would go in with them??
Well, we danced until everyone but them got in, and we had a group of 6 100+, 1 90+ and a 70+, and none of us where below level 3 cogs. Guess what? We sucked! I saw toons wasting high level toonups on toons who only had -5, Fog horns on lured cogs, and the ultimate, someone used a SOS drop gag on lured cogs (every piano missed). Luckily we survived both rounds. Unfortunately, no one could hit the VP worth a darn. Another toon and I took the rear and did very good at first, and we finally got the VP to the edge. Then toons started dissapearing left and right! I was the third to the last to go, but the VP was half-way back up the ramp, so I know the others couldn't have survived. Moral? You can't judge a toon by its cover. If we had those lower level toons with us, we'd have someone to blame, but, unfortunately, we didn't follow our own advice. - "Let's Work Together" Let's enjoy the game together. (here's the part where the music swells, and everyone hugs each other. Then a large hairy dog jumps up and everyone laughs.) - The Phillionaire |
