there is no skill in beating the VP

I have only beat him one time ( yay for me ) it may be I have only tried to beat him that one time and could only do it becouse a great bunch of toons took a chance on me ( 75 LP )

did we win do to our skill? no way . we won do to luck and nothing more

i have seen high toon go sad as many times as I have seen low ones there is no skill in making a gag work if there was we would all be winners it is like pocker (luck of the draw).

i was going to try to beat him again today and was playing the jump in and out game . there is one thing I may never understand . there was a toon there that was higher in LP then me but was still a lvl one and the other toons were doing the big this is to risky for you at first I thought they were talking to me and I was leaving when i started to get " can you help me" from the other toons.

now the thing i dont understand if I did not beat it before i know for fact everyone there would have been telling me to go away

that was my rant sorry

You are wrong about there being no skill to beating the VP. There is a little bit of luck in how you get assigned your foursome on each side, and a little bit of random levels of cogs in each round. Add to that the little bit of luck needed to get lure to not miss and that is about it for luck. The VP battle itself is 100% skill and 0% luck! To beat him, you need to stun him, and drive him backward when he is stunned. He will fall of the edge eventually. If you jump when he is in the air, you do not get nailed for -10 (skill, not luck). You can stand back, just past where he tosses out nuts to avoid those hits, and just move/jump to get out of the way of the cogs he throws. Spreading out your party also makes it easier. Most experienced teams have one or two people who go behind the VP and try to get their pies in the door on that side when it opens and the rest stay in front of him, spread out and try both to get one in his door, and to move him back when stunned. If you think its 'luck' to get one in his door, or get it up high enough to drive him back, then perhaps you do not understand the power meter for your toss. The odd thing about the system is that the higher the meter is, the shorter your toss! This is backwards from what I expected. The lower that bar is, the straighter your toss, the higher it is, the more arc in a downward fashion there is.

Hope this helps you win many more battles!
Good luck! Happy gaming!

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? IT ISN'T LUCK AT ALL!!! IT'S SKILL, STRATEGY, AND MOSTLY GETTING TOGETHER A GOOD GROUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I'm sorry, I just can't stand people saying the VP is luck, one day you'll realize how easy he is and beat him 7 times in one weekend like I did)

First of all, it is definitely skill and not luck, wait until you've been in at least 10 vp battles and then tell us what you think. I'm guessing since this was your first that the higher toons 'carried' you through the last part of the battle when you throw pies at the vp. I lost 6 times in a row before I gained enough skill to time my throws at the vp, others caught onto it a LOT faster than that, of course the disco's didn't help at all.

Secondly, it's wrong to judge someone's ability by the level of their suit, or even the level of their laffs IMO. This happening can only be stopped by those who are doing the judging in the first place. And good luck in changing anyone's mind on that subject but your own!! I suggest finding toons that are more likely to be willing to take on a challenge of fighting the vp with someone who may not have been in a vp fight at all yet. Good luck in your next attempt!!

If it is not skill on your part could it have been because you were playing with really good toons. I have been in with the vp numerous times and I can tell the skill of the team by how fast we can beat it. I have been there anywhere from 30 minutes to sometimes under 5. Also, if you are ever the last one standing you can really tell the skill involved....as the vp goes all the way back up the ramp.

sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. ok you said tell you what i think after i fight the vp 10 times . done that i am now a lvl 6 two face my lp are now 103

so from what i read most think its skill to beat the vp or any cog as a matter of fact . so that means that a toon that hits the cog with his birthday cake has more skill then the one that tryed and missed or the one that got you 60 lp toon up has more then the one that tryed to toon you up and it only gave 2 lp boost

now what i am getting at saying it was luck . it is luck that has the gag work at its best thats when it works at all. i have seen skilled toons miss with gags . so they lost there skill at that point? or was it that there luck was not right at that point? you pick. but to me if you have luck you hit more and go sad less just my thinking

I believe up until you fight vp it is skill and luck. Luck is getting good toons who know what they are doing on your side. Skill is aiming at the correct cog, miss or hit, going along with teams strategy. When it comes time to fight vp its all about strategy, ofcourse.

The portion of the battle you are talking about here is NOT the vp, but the cogs you fight through to get to the vp. Actually fighting the vp does take skill not luck. You need to aim, and time things just right to hit him where it hurts. I can't speak for everyone, but that is what I was talking about when I said it takes skill. I also agree with Bumbleseed though, it makes a big difference if you're with toons who know how to play as a team.

To the 1st post, all there is is luck to it. Luck doesn't really fit in this category.

Ummm, you are way off the mark.

Even fighting the cogs before the vp fight involves a certain amount of skill (when to use, and which gag), but the VP fight is all skill. The only luck is wether you go disco or not. Basically those "great bunch of toons" saved your bacon.

When my group gather in the cog playground and we go in, we have the 4 of us, and we grab who ever is at the VP elevator at the time. We already have our plan worked out to a science, and we can defeat the VP in just a few minutes. Im allways in the back 2 allways in the front and we even have a roving medic. But it amazes me what the other 4 toons do sometimes. Anything from being totaly helpful and knowing the scroe, which gets them comments from our group like "you rock" "you are awsome" "I like your look" to my favorte "I like your shorts" when the count down is going on at the end. To the other extreme of toons just wandering around and even getting in the way and being totaly useless which gets them the "yikes" "are you new here" and my favorate "you stink".
