That in a nutshell is why I have stopped playing on open unless specifically asked by someone here to help them. I have a test toon and decided to work on him because I was sick of the constant elevator shuffle on open.

There is no reason 7 toons cant do it... I went in with a group of 6.. we lost 1(acouple weeks ago)disco.... and i tell u ... i finally used more gags.. had 2 on one side.... and did great... yeah you had to think a bit... couldnt just choose sound and kill them.. but was alot more challenging... just do it... have alot more fun then jumping all the time.

All I know is the more I try to control the situation, the more frustrated I become. For me, it's better to define what I will not accept; stick to it; and work with whatever falls outside that definition. Never teach a pig to sing; you'll frustrate yourself and annoy the pig. "Some toons bring their own group into the HQ Lobby to defeat the VP. Sometimes it's just a partial group and a couple of free-lance Toons can join."
Had this problem the other day. There was only 10 trying to get onto the elevator. There were 5 in my group, two low toons (35, and 38 I believe) and some solo's. We did the dance about 6 or 7 times, not because we didn't want the low toons, but because no matter what we did, at least one member of our team was left off. We wound up going to another server and found 3 more to complete the team for the try. Two in our group were first timers in a VP run (both pretty high toons though) and one wound up sad because they didn't know how to heal when fighing the VP. I can see where the lower toons there may have thought we left and/or played the shuffle because of them.

Jeez
Are you telling me that NOW, even when I get to be a 101 laffer and have all maxxed gags, I will still have trouble getting on the ******* elevator because I am just a cold caller level 1?
Why does the ante keep rising to fight the vp? I am an 83 with 2 maxxed, 3 level 5 gags and a level 3 gag. I used to have trouble. That's back when I really cared enough to try. |

Hehe, the VP elevator shuffle is actually quite amusing compared
to the normal building shuffles. In the context of an actual VP's reception area, all these suits jockey for position, trying to get promotions before the others. lol! |

Dutch,
Hopefully by the time you reach 101 (or even 95) there will be some ingame solution to the elevator problems. For the first time since I have played this game, there are a LOT of unhappy players. Droopy Sparklezap

"...free-lance Toons can join"
i like that phrase, that's me! i like playing w/a different group each time so i can practice doing all parts of the battle and it also seems to be more of a challenge for me. i usually just travel around til i find a partial group and then i go say hi and ask if i can help. i dont care who i go to vp with so what i dont like about the elevator dance is when some toons decide to get off because of some other toons. after last night, i almost wish that the doors would close after the 8th toon jumps on.

Yes, I know, but you have much more patience than I, if everyone just does that for more than 30mins (if I can hold out that long) I just leave to go do something more productive.
I am a Cold Caller 1, but since it is so hard to get folks to stay on the elevater I think I may stay that way for a long while to come. This quest/thingy is just not worth the effort to deal with folks that seem to h8 sub 90 folks and now the level of your disquise. Poorly designed set up imo. And even more poor attitude folks that think that someone that is a level 1 disquise or sub 70ish is any less a skilled player than he/she. I have played with lower and high and the player makes the char work well or not, not the gags nor the laff. my 2p. Time to go home (hopes)

I have to click on your name to see your LP status. I have to click on your displayed status to see you have level 6 gags. Having level 6 gags does not mean they are maxxed. I have to see you use your gags to see if they are maxxed (or see you get award stats to see if they are maxxed). As I said all toons assess their own chances in their own way. I've been fooled alot lately. I see a toon use a birthday cake to take out a lured level 10 cog and choose to target something else. The Birthday cake in this case only hits for 51 points and we later take damage from the cog as a result. It's all part of playing the game with toons that I'm not familiar with. Use of the phrase 'Can you help me?' would be nice in this situation (but many are kids and excited just to be fighting the VP). Unless we are always with friends and we know each other gags, we are all in this situation. If you want immediate acceptance to gain access to the elevator (and 7 toons to follow you), then max all 7 gag tracks, have a 120 LP. and be a level 13 Mr Hollywood (walking on water would help your cause). Short of this, we will all use our best judgement. This is a useful skill too (and something I want my kids to exercise). Toontown gives them a place to exercise their judgement and provide feedback for good/bad decisions in a relatively safe environment. Worst case, they are sent back to the playground sad and without gags. After they replace the LP and gags they lost, they need to return to the factory to get Cog Suit Parts. With the time lost and their advancement delayed, maybe they'll make a better decision next time. I like to think that they will learn from their mistakes. Please consider this as a backdrop while the elevator shuffle is happening in the foreground. Have fun in Toontown, ...Bear .

Higher Populations Yet
I figure with the Comcast cable giving a free month's subscription to new customers, we will probably see a new influx of newbies that truly are new to the game.
The thing about them, they will just be dumb but not evil. I hope either Disney finds a peaceful solution so we can all coincide or it's just going to get even worse. I love this game, I wish that Disney would take the hint and fix it before toons start leaving. |

Whenever you get stuck with a group with 10+ people standing at the lobby, check the otehr districts & come back after a while if you have no luck.
I counted 32 people at the lobby yesterday, so I checked the other districts....no luck, & when I came back, 8 people ^^ |

I wish you could hear yourself.
Please, now I'm hearing that if a toon walks up to the elevator with say 88 laffs, as far as you can tell he has level 6 squirt and throw. He has say level 5 sound, toon up and drop, and a level 4 trap, you would still have trouble going on an elevator because you are not sure if he has 9999 in his scores?
What an bunch of bunky that is? No you don't know if he is maxxed or if he has just gotten that cake. Or if he just got the rainstorm or if it is 9999. However, if a toon has those level gags in his bag plus 3 level 5 gags and a level 3 gag, it should show everyone that he HAS BEEN working hard. You don't get those gags by standing in the corner hiding. And by the way, I have seen the 'high o'mighty' maxxed toons throw down 2 different traps to the same cog too. Maxxed toons make mistakes JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I have seen maxxed toons repeatedly use those goggles and have them miss, and we all are using toon ups and he continues to use missing lures instead of switching to sound. Talk about stubborn people. |

Hmm, unless we are programmers we CAN'T have all 7 gag tracks. How do we get to level 13 Mr. Hollywood if we aren't allow on the elevator my elitest? I haven't really seen any 120 lp people so la dee da on that one. I see some big toons that don't want the other toons to do well. They want to Be the Big Boss and no one else. |
