lag in "Rooms" of CHQ

i am wondering if anyone else may have this issue:
when i go in cog hq, i am slow as molasses in any of these rooms: lava rm, oil rm, duct rm, pipe rm, boiler rm, gear rm, and the paint mixer. everyone else runs way ahead of me when going thru these rooms and i run in very slow motion. however i am fine going in thru the main entrance and lobby. the thing is i hate to go thru any of those rooms now because of the huge lag and sometimes freezes it throws at me (i've not seen anyone else or spoken with anyone else who has this problem). this makes me really want to go the quickest way (which some cant do) of taking the "shortcut" off the warehouse lookout (which can be problematic with toons who dont know that way).

i am running Win2k on a p4, 1.6ghz machine with 512mb ram, i think sufficient for this game. why would just those rooms slow me down so much that i can barely move?

anyone else having experiencing this? anyone have an idea of what it could be? gawd!!! i'd love to end this total nuisance that has caused me even to go sad (getting caught by cogs running by in a room and not able to pick gags sometimes).

i'd be really happy to know if someone else out there has had this same issue and knows how to remedy it!

I'm EXTREMELY slow in the Pipe Room and on all the Catwalks. I'm running a 2 ghz processor also with 512 megs of ram.

Don't know why that would be, but have you done your maitenaince on your computer? Defrag and scan? Try turning off your music as well. On my old computer I had sever lag. I could only run in the districts with the least toons and had my music and sound turned off!

Once again, thats why I'm completely clueless. I always play with music off and iPod on, hehe. I defreag and scan every week, and I have a new GeForce 9600. I also run DSL ... its only been like this AFTER the CHQ update, I was fast everywhere, even TTC playground in Toon Valley, but now I can barely walk there.

i defrag and scan every week too. i turn off all background aps that i can before i go into toontown because of the severe lag in those rooms. i dont have much lag at all on the catwalks. what's really strange to me is that my son's computer (which is my OLD machine) that is slower and has less memory has no problem in going through any of the rooms (lava, paint mixer, pipe, oil, gear rooms, etc).
i think it may be the way something is configured in the system but i have no clue what! i'm no computer expert but wish i was!
i always keep that midi crud turned off anyway but leave the sound effects on. i have tried turning off the sound effects but find it makes no difference at all here.
ShanD, if you ever figure out what's causing your lag in the pipe room and catwalks and resolve it, pleeeeese let me know.
its no problem when i'm with sec friends as i can tell them whats up but i can only say 'sorry i was delayed' to all others after i finally catch up to them!

Curious as to what graphics card you have. It could possibly be the problem if it's an older 4mb model or if your running a newer card you may need to update drivers.

Make sure no programs are running in the background especially virus programs. Your task bar should be empty or showing programs as disabled.

It may also be a windows issue. Try running windows update and see if that resolves your problem if you haven't already done so.

One more question, does this happen imediately after you start the game or does it take a while before you lag or doesit get worse as time progresses? If so it could also be a memory leak proplem. TT can become a memory hog you can resolve that by restarting tt every once in a while.

It could also be your DSL connection, or you may be in an overcrowded district, again I'm no expert but am listing every problem I can think of. Hope this helps.

The only place I have lagg is in the pipe room.Poppy I wonder why your lagging more than me.Your com is much better than mine.I agree with P. Cheezypuff.

I'm having the exact same problems, i run on dsl and all my computer meet the minimum requirements to run toontown. I have no problem anywhere else. But in certain rooms of the factory, i have SEVERE lag. I've tried everything, scandisk and defraging, emptying temp internet files, closing otu all programs, restarting the computer, but nothing helps. i sent an email to toontown, but they were no help.

the only good think about this is, that i can do the lookout trick with extreme easy, all i have to do is walk to the railing, and i automatically sink through the floor without touching a button.

Yea, my computer is slow on them all it lags for a long time until finally it comes back and I dont know where everyone went to!

I've seen your rabbit Jeff (I'm little rainbow BTW, incase you didn't know ) And it was sort of walking along the while I ran next to it. But not all the time. I get realllllly slow somtimes. Mostly when we're running, and I open somones gag page to see what gags they have. Then i sort of freeze, and a few seconds later I can move again, and by that time they're all pulled ahead of me. I do lag a bit every time I open a gag page anywhere in toontown, but in cog HQ it freezes me up for quite a while.
