Seriously, If you read your quote you can see where it would appear that you are indeed calling me an elitist. Even if this was not your intention, the following is STILL a contradiction to what you were stating about those who would take up the challange:

"We all
have an idea of how things should be, and if someone disagrees, it would be much more productive to not call them arrogant elitists"

You call anyone who would re-examine their view an elitist, no matter what their reason for doing so, and then above, chastise those who would call someone "arrogant elitists" for having an opposing view. How is this not an example of wanting your cake, and to eat it too? .
My point is it is easy to consider someone an elitist when they
have a differing viewpoint. It happens to me all the time

My initial post on this thread had to do with what I considered to
be an elitist attitude, that being (in spirit) "I challenge you high
laffers to help as many low-mid toons as you can through the VP
battle!" From my perspective, it appeared to be targetted by you
toward those who YOU think are elitists. In so doing, you
and other participants expose a certain elitist attitude of your own.

I've read your other posts Wiz, and I have a pretty good idea
where you're coming from. You seem cool to me, even though my
knowledge of you is extremely limited. I'm fairly confident that if
we ran into each other in TT, we'd have a great time.

It was the premise of this thread that I objected to, not you. If by
saying this thread's very presence reeked of elitism caused you
to think I'm calling you an elitist, you're wrong. It's just a
difference of opinion, something common on discussion boards

Wow, for once, something we can agree on.

As I said, I'd jump into a building with you, no problem! How can you take any of this too personally? Isn't it just a game? I guess my concept of how to approach this thread may have been a little too strong.

Really though, what do you think about my idea to help ease the problems in TT? Has anyone talked about such a thing in the past? and has anyone talked to Disney to see if it is feasable?

I still want to let any lower toons know that I am open to helping them and I may put up a specific time/place to meet someone if I can figure out how/when to do it. I do not have regular gaming times and it is pretty random when I may be ready to do a VP run. I will help any (within reason of course) that I come along if we have room in our party (usually do).

It's not a bad idea, but so far Disney's track record suggests that
no limits will ever be put in place, with the exception of rewards
for tasks. Even you had said you're not in favor of setting limits. If
a building that a low laffer needs spawns where his higher buddy
is, he can't get to him.

I still like my idea the best (how arrogant of me ), and I know
you don't agree with it already. Don't think of it as a limit but
rather a reward for accomplishing so many tasks. In case other
readers haven't seen it:

1st task offered after completing Lil Oldman, and offered in
Dreamland (an area lacking task content):
Recover a cog part from Sellbot HQ Factory (62+ laff at that point).
At L71: Recover a cog part from Cashbot HQ Factory.
At L80: Recover a cog part from Lawbot HQ Factory.
At L89: Recover a cog part from Bossbot HQ Factory.
Once the task comes up, access is granted to that specific Cog HQ.
Max'd toons would be grandfathered in, that is, they will have
access to all the Cog HQ's automatically.

Upon taking the task, the HQ Toon says: "We're recruiting toons
to go and fight the Cog HQ. You look like a worthy candidate! Go
to the XXX Cog HQ Factory and recover pieces of cogs so that you
can disguise yourself. Once you have your full suit and have
earned the merits for promotion, you'll be ready to take on the
Vice President. Good luck!"

I would think that my idea is MUCH less of a 'limit' then yours is (Surprise! )

Yours would not allow a low toon to even explore HQ areas until they are at a particular point in the game (I'd call that a limit). Mine would let the lower toons go anywhere, and try anything they want (no limits at all) with the added bonus that those larger toons that didn't want to play with them, would have their own place to escape to. If a little toon needs a building and there happens to be one next to his larger buddy, the larger buddy will have to go help him find one on the many other servers available to both of them now. What I was suggesting was say convert bouncy or zippity (or make a new one) to a 'maxed, not task left' toon only. There would be no difference in that/those servers except only higher toons would have access to it. Those who use that server would just not have to be followed by 'fleas' (I define a flea as a lower toon that plays the 'please me my friend', follow you, toss stinkies at you sort of rude player) but they would be free to go back and forth between regular, and high only districts. They could even leave it invisible on the maps of users until they qualify to use it which would mean most lower toons would not even know there is a place they can't reach!

Oh well, there are probably as many unique ideas about how this game should be programmed, as there are players on it.

Good Luck! See you next toon.....

No offense guys, but it's starting to seem like a big debate argument, like between Presidential candidates almost. Can't you guys stop with all of this "elitism" accusing and actually talk like normal people and not politicians?! No offense to politics, but, this is a GAME FORUM, not the Capitol Building or the War Room in the WHite House! This stupid argument is a waste of time and space. If you keep complaining to each other, no one's going to post but you two! Now just end this, Okay?

Actually clyde, I do believe it was already over
And since you seem to be worried about space, what exactly did you add to this discussion that was relavent to it? No offence intended but your post was simply spam talking about spam. Now, how do you feel about the issues at hand? Do you think little toons belong in the HQ area? You are on the edge of the medium - larger toon. Have you faced people telling you that 'this is too difficult for you' or had people jump off an elevator when you tried to go to the VP? That is what this is about, not the trist that had ended just nicely I thought. If your character is in the HQ when I am going for a run, you are more than welcome to join in as long we have room!

Happy tooning!

I rather enjoyed the discussion.

However it sounds like the same problems players have always had. Boredom/Challenge. It's just in a new arena.

It would definitely be more of a challenge to take a smaller toon with you into the VP, but all that says to me is that it's already too easy for the "advanced" toon. It's why most started taking smaller toons with them into large buildings before CHQ was released.

A part of the game was made for the "advanced" toon, but was made without restrictions for the toon who is NOT advanced. Therein lies the problem. Elitist and/or arrogance matters not. If the VP was too hard, as it was in the beginning because we had no clue...then it would have remained an elitist area. I can't speak for elitism or arrogance here on the forums though. I've met Loosy's book before and I've learned to take it with a grain of salt.

Disney should have made a real challenge for the advanced toon, and made it restricted for the advanced toon. Having to make the game more challenging for ourselves is nothing new. The elevator dance is nothing new, it's just more time consuming with 8 + people instead of 4+ people.

Well New Years Eve was my Birthday and I got a new puppy - (Indiana Bones) Purebred Mut! He's more time consuming than Head Quarters >.< But the rewards are greater! Our pool was just recently finished being built too and the kids & I are already working on our tans Gotta luv California!

We do come on to check our cattlelogs and play with the noobs once in a while, but if anyone needs to make room on their list and you have one of my toons on - don't hesitate to remove them. We're just kinda hanging out to see if any new content makes it worth our while to stay. We'll still see you guys here on ttc.
