I, too, have been frustrated when someone is in the building with me & I know they can't take out a cog (and will probably take more damage than necessary) and I tell them "You should pass." Sometimes, but very rarely, they listen.
Passing is good because it 1) gives a person the chance to lure and 2) the next round they can toon up if they need to. Now, I had one toon who took it to extremes where I said "You should pass." because up until that point, he/she had been hitting right along with me. After I said that, he/she would keep right on passing until I said "Let's go fight the cogs!" Hehehe. |

PASSing tips
This is also a good tip for junior toons...
Typically, undmaged or least damaged toons take responsibility for toonups. When YOU are the most damaged toon and likely the recipient of a weak (lvl 1-4) toonup, PASS! Cogs tend to attack the toon doing the most damage (and possibly most recent) to them... continuing to rack up damage against a cog you cannot kill makes you their target and defeats the efforts of those toons trying to help you with toonup. The theory is that you need to give the cogs an opoprtunity to choose another toon target. That way, all of the attacks they've done to date can be negated with a single group toonup instead of a string of single toonups. * * * Also be aware that if you have joined a group of bigger toons in a building, there is a good chance that they are inclined to 'play' on the top floor for maximum experience. Be mindful that you will see strategies that would generally be unsound for junior toons, because they are working a particular skill track. In these cases, PASSing is also useful to conserve gags until it is clear that they are going to overkill a cog (e.g. the cog is red or blinking and they both throw their biggest gag at it - a pretty clear sign) and it's safe to join in. Senior toons will recognize that you are cooperating with their strategy and will create opportunities for you to maximize your skills, too. * * * Disney designers - how about including a "What should I do?" emote so that other toons can respond, "I think you should choose ..."
