What's appropiate LP that a toon should have to battle in the Cog HQ?

Once again, you are missing the point. The main reason higher toons will not go with lower is that there are two full rounds of cog battle with many 10, 11, and 12th level cogs in it. You need to have at least 3 gag tracks at level 6 (sound would be helpful at level 6). Beyond that, you need a fairly large gag bag so that you can carry enough gags to make it through to the VP battle. As I said in the other thread directly related to this question, keep an eye out on this forum for updated infromation about what toons are making it in these runs. I would expect that more lower toons will make it in the coming months.

I'm going to keep saying "GAGS, GAGS, GAGS"
LAFF means nothing. If you don't have the firepower, it doesn't matter what laff you are. If a 100laff and 80laff are battleing together. They are both under 20 laff because there gags can't kill a level 12 cog, and a level he hits you for 21points, your both sad. There isn't anything advanced about a 105laffer who has pixie dust, elephant trunk, 10 dallor bill, trap door/safe, a BD-Cake, and a fire hose. A 105laff with these gags is as helpful as a 50laff with the same gags. Your toons are only as helpful as the gags you carry. So many people are rushing through laff tasks so they can gain acceptance. Disney has made it possible to become a 100+ laff toon in a few short weeks if played hard. It can actually be done faster than that. There isn't anything advanced about a player that has been playing for a month. Just because you're a high laffer, doen't mean another high laffer isn't carrying your weight through the VP battle.

If you want to be totally sure, I would say to wait until you are over 80 laff. I was in a VP battle and 4 level 12 cogs strolled out. My goggles missed, and I was hit for 80 damage. The other toons in my group were hit for 60 damage. I have seen toons in the mid 60's make it through the 2 battles, but they would not have made it if the higher level toons were not helping. I have even seen a 53 make it through, even though he was crying "I need a toonup" after every round.

Marigold and Buzz are absolutly right
Gags kill cogs.....Laff points don't.....I have yet to see a cog just blow up and explode on the street, just because a 100+ laffer walks up to him.

Laff points DO count! but not because of the damage a toon can take, nor does it tell you how high the gag development is. laff points count because with each new area promotion, not only do you get laff points, carry more beans, etc... YOU GET TO CARRY MORE GAGS! It takes a combination of high level gags, the ability to use them, AND the ability to carry enough of them to make you a good fighter and ready for the VP. Some of you act as though you would go into a big building or HQ with a 50 that was maxed in 3 gags but how long would they last with only 40 gags in their bag?

No, but I would rather go with a 50 with 4 maxxed gags rather than a 100 laffer with six, level 5 gags....But then again I like a challange.

I have to agree with both sides of the debate; LP and Gag Level. But I also want you guys to consider this.
What are gags without stratedgy? A worthy toon must be able to know whats in VP, as well as the basic battle strategy. A Lure is USELESS when someone's using sound, and same goes for drop when lure is in play. They also need to discuss the stragy with thier paartners, so they need to be friendly. Honestly, I've seen toons with 50LP with a Level 2 Cold CAller suit. They know what they're doing. I'm soory if I'm a bit too defensive of lower toons right now. I've been declined to 5 VP fights today, just because I have a Laff Meter of 77 and a level 1 Cold CAller SUit, even though I've faught him maybe 5-7 times already. And don't think I've lost before the skelecogs. One time we had the VP on the platform to die. If only I had jumped once more... Sorry if this is too lengthly.

The never ending debate
Ok...here is my take on the hole thing. I think as long as you know the people you are heading in with I think you can get a smaller toon through. A perfect example is the other day there were 7 of us with a level 25 toon. He not only made it through the rounds but he made it through the entire VP battle. It's takes some extra work and some extra strategy but don't alot of you 100+ out there want the challenge? I think people get scared of taking anyone less than 70. I say let one on for the ride. It is not going to cost you the victory. If it does then you probably got more problems than just having a lower laffer on board.

70 Gags are more than enough. You shouldn't even need that many. Unless of course your gags are weak, and you have to use more of them. Quote:
80 points at one round is what I call a disaster. That's where strategy comes in. I'm kind of suprised they came after you when all you did was an attempted Lure. Usually it's a single sounder that gets that much attention.

selbot hq
This not a subjuect you should get me started on. But here goes...
I think you should have to have 50 Laff just to get into the door of the selbot hq. You should have to do a toon task in order to gain the priviledge of getting in. I think you should have to have 75 Laff in order to get into the factory elevator. I also believe you should not go into fight vp unless you have 90 Laff and maxed out gags. Anything less is greedy and selfish. Some people have no other toon tasks too work on except fishing!!! The rudest thing about this game is when you have to not use toon-up on a 45 pointer for getting into factory elevator with you after you told him not to come, (I think this is too risky for you-or Run), or that you have to tell them "You stink" because they do not have gags worthy of a level 11 or 12 cog in vp battle, even in a group, and only have 63 Laff or cant take the hint that you have 8 people already set up in a group to go into elevator and they try to get in anyway. I have seen banana peel traps, whistles and the feather in the vp battle room. If these are the gags you carry go back to Minnies Melodyland where you belong!!! You can have perfect eye hand coordination, be able to battle the tank, but if no one wants to be in the battle with you or if everyone is talking to each other and they keep talking "oh no this stupid 62 pointer got in elevator how did we miss that". It seems as if you should be able to take a hint, "I think this is too risky for you" but the low laffers are the rudest. When I first went to Dreamland, seems like a long time ago, I only had 62 points. I was told that many times. And after dying in my first 5 story I realized why. Some people need the building to complete the task. I didnt need a level 12 cog, I was just going there to try to do my tasks faster. If someone tells you "I think this is too risky for you" it means they do not want to go into vp battle with you. Dont try to get into the elevator anyway. You are being rude and "You stink". If you are bringing low laffers in with you to the factory because you think its cute, then I think "You stink", too. Disney created the saying "I think this is too risky for you". That saying comes with the game for a reason. |

I was the 25 laffer with you, Cool Mac.
I must admit that Im not the average low laffer. (Plus Skitzow has 5 big brothers who tought him the ropes)
