Toons that hide

Toons that hide in the factory and don't assist in the battles are a totally different breed. I think that they should get what they deserve. If you got guts to get on the elevator, you should have guts to stand up with the rest of us in battle.

So, if someone commits a toon 'homisad' against one of those type of slackers, I'll turn my head the other way.

Because if I pull them through and hand them their suit on a silver platter this will waste someone elses time when they try to stowaway on the VP elevator. I figure this way the low laff toon that stowed away with me has wasted no one elses time, other than their own.
Now I have seen larger toons, in retaliation, getting on the elevator, and teleporting out of the factory right away, to their friend still waiting in front of elevator. This works I guess but I dont do this, I like to give them the whole factory tour, this keeps the "young toons" off the steet where they are causing trouble
This is a really nasty attitude if you don't make allowances for
the 40 somethings who have been nailed with a task where they
MUST make a factory run to clear the task. Someone who has a factory
only task is in a totally different situation from a low-laff who is trying
to get an early cog suit.
I tried to puzzle out a task order to get past DG without a factory
task, and I still got down to having only one choice which required
a factory run.
Many of todays high-laff toons never got hit with that task,
or have only gotten it on a 2nd generation toon where you can
get help from established friends. My nearly maxxed toon never had to
make a factory run when he was growing up, did yours???
If so, did you do it only with toons having less laff than you??

More venting...

I personally like the e-bay solution to letting people know
who the stinkers are: My solution is something like this.
Every 10 minute on line each toon gets one flower and one dart.
You get to assigned your flowers and darts to the toons you have
recently interacted with. If someone ditches you in a building,
you give them darts. If a 25 laff shows up at the VP lobby and
hogs the elevator, darts. Someone helps out a passer by who needs
a building; perhaps the beneficiary assigns a few flowers.

Toons get some kind of marker to show their flower/dart ratio.
Strangers get to know something about your reputation before
jumping on with you. Newbies have some way to protest
when they are abused. Your reputation extends beyond your
immediate circle.

Grouping would be cool also, but you also need some way for
compatible groups to form.

The complaints, and consequently the solutions, are misplaced responses to the actual game problems. Example:

- Players cannot succeed in their battles when their companions are unwilling or unable to contribute.
- players have no companion selection other than opportunity.
- Players recognize that less experienced players are frequently imposed upon them.
- Players recognize that stubborn players are frequently imposed upon them.
- Players recognize that poor players are frequently imposed upon them.
- Players attribute these undesirable characteristics to toons with low laff points.

phew!
lots of strong opinions!

how about if cogs had to earn a 'passport' to get into a certain area?
the 'passport' task would allow you to
1st the hq area, 2nd the factory, and 3rd the vp, and you would never be allowed to choose this task until you had met certain requirements.....

the requirements could be based on laff or number of maxed gags, so that a 'sooper noob' who has 25 laff and 3 or 4 maxed gags could earn a pass, as well as regular toons at 40, 50, and 60 laff
( i think 40laff for getting into the hq area, 50 for the factory, and 60 for the vp
or
1 maxed gag for the hq area, 2 for the factory, and 3 for the vp)

knowing people had earned the 'right' to be in that area would help
others feel a little better....
( i don't like that word 'right' in this usage....it's what i've seen as expressed here in the forums)
also a little stress would be off the smaller toons, as they would not have to be pushy about anything!

However!
in trade-off for the passports and their minimum requirements, the rule would be that once on the elevator for factory and vp, you would be stuck on the elevator! no jumping!

the elevator for the factory would take off after a regular countdown, and the elevator for the vp would not take off with less than 7 players, and then start the regular countdown.....

so...no more elevator hustle!
so for those toons who are concerned so much about whom you go with, it would be simple enough to go to a smaller district, and check everyone else out while in the lobby...no more 15laff grievers hopping on and off, no more 20 laff toons begging a ride!

what do all the other toons think of this?
to add this as the programming would not be too difficult...it adds a few more task selections, and the passports would be a message given to that toon only, something like
'your visa does not permit you to visit the vp yet'
otherwise you would not receive a notice, and would just travel to the area the usual way

opinions?
alterations?
different amount of laffs or gags cut off amounts?

i would bet the ccg would still be in business, because all the toons that would be 61laff level one cold callers would still be needing help, and some of the toons who aren't good enough for the ccg would still be able to assemble groups of all 100laff toons,
this would just help to remove the annoyance of that handful of toons who do the elevator jumping at just 15-30 laff points, with no gags, with the intention of being irrational, and the toons who tag along in the factory...
this way everyone would have to have done some work to get anywhere, so no more tailgating...

Dear, soon enough you will be right up there in 100+ Laff... By then you will most likely maxx out on most of your gags and you will actually enjoy the moment when a little toon defeats a cog with a slice of a cream pie. You will not build up your gags with Lower toons at your side - you will do it with your level friends in higher buildings.

You might even keep tooning up this Low Laffer and let him throw, so that he gets more points for the gag. But toons at 20+ Laff should know better regarding going to the factory. They can team up and go exploring - as far as they could make it - but jumping in with high Laffers just simply isn't fair!

Some of those high Laffers need 5500 merits to fight the VP, which takes good 3,5 hours to spend in factory runs. People work and go to school in real life - so time to play is limited. I help lower toons to get their tasks done - no problem, but sometimes there is simply no time in real life for that.

So, please dont be bitter or upset. This guy was probably pretty frustrated with this group. However, please dont take all the "You stink!"-s to heart. Just answer once with "You did it!" - might even get a laugh out of the situation.

No doubt! Unless my house is on fire or one of my cats is eating my infant son, I will *always* help a toon go get some Minglers. I spent so long on that ^%&*#!@ task - that and the tickets-from-Glad Handers one. Grrrr...
