I went in with my friend a 90 laffer and I'm an 89 laffer. We have 4, 5&6 lvl gags. You don't need 101 toons 2 defeat the factory. Escpecially if you know the shortcut. It took awhile but we won.
Did they bail immediatley? If so maybe they had left a friend behind. Ask yourself, Do I really know the whole story? Maybe they froze up or just saw the Grey "void". I suggest talking to them since they post here. Get the facts first before you call them losers. If they did do it on purpose for fun or w/e then I'm sorry and don't listen 2 me!

It was a scarce neighborhood
Sorry, that toon stood there with the 2 of us. I had a 54 and 34 the other toon was a 101. We said let's go. I am an 84 laffer, maxxed throw & squirt, Level 6 sound, drop, & toonup. I also have level 3 trap. We all went on the elevator. I thought we were doing well from the git go.
We got to the stomper room. The toon was moving around. He went to a corner pulled out his book and left. He was a total wimp. There was a toon that was at the elevator. The 101 told him it was too risky. He didn't get on the elevator with us. The factory is no big deal if you have at least 2 'big' toons. I don't know what his problems was but 'bye' doesn't cut it. It's wimping out to me. |

Gotta agree with Bumbermash. I've done it because I left someone behind. I just Teleport right to my friend.
Sometimes I'd stay if I KNEW they really didn't have a chance, but if they had a strong 3 toon team I'd just leave.

Just curious, was it the factory or the VP battle? The only reason's I could think anyone would bail from the factory are:
1. Bailed right away cause they were with friends who didn't make it in. 2. Bailed because they needed merits and where full 3. Bailed because the toons they were with didn't have sound (it takes twice as long with non sounders) 4, Bailed do to "techical dificulty" In my opinion the only justifiable reasons are 1 and 4. 2 is fine as long as they other toons are strong enough to fend for them selves. If it was a Vp battle. Well...bailing just isn't right, period!

Personally, I'll leave any time a rude little toon jumps into the elevator at the last minute trying to get a free suit piece. I'm not the "free suit piece guy" - don't follow me in the elevator unless you can hold your own. I have no interest in getting you a suit through my efforts so you can clog up the VP elevator when I'm trying to enjoy that encounter later. In fact, all of you that help "little" toons through the factory aren't helping anyone... Once they get their suit pieces, too many of them have a great time ruining the VP battle by refusing to wait until they can contribute.. For every little toon you help through the factory, you deserve to wait 20 minutes dancing in front of a VP elevator with a bunch of 50-laffers running into and out of it.. As an aside, there's a toon with a pretty big cog suit, he/she thinks its funny to load up a VP elevator by running on first and saying "lets go" then jumping off at the last minute after 7 others get on. To that toon, I have a whole list of things to say, none of them are on the toontalker, and most of them begin with the letter "F". You know who you are... It happened last night. We lost not because of this [guy] jumping off at the last minute but because 3 of the toons who got on the elevator were too low to contribute. They all went sad, and had to bail before the second battle because we only had 3 toons. Even 4 can do that fight, but not 3. Big Bad Bugs Last edited by Bunny Summers; 01-13-2004 at 10:19 AM. |

You are jumping to conclusions and then lumping in everyone else who is over 100 into some grand 'us' against 'them' mentality. This makes you sound ignorant and childish. That big toon may have had to leave suddenly for some reason. When you go in with secret friends, you can just say I have to leave. You can't do that with non sf's. To say that they left 'scared' is idiotic when talking about a high level character. They may have 'bailed' on you because they didn't like the way you were playing, they have a friend that needed them to come right away, too many possibilities exist.
Not all of us over 100 are mean to lower toons. Not all of us play games with lessor toons. You do need to keep in mind that there are many that just believe so strongly that lower toons (below mid 80's) have no business even being in the HQ area that they will get lower toons killed or ditch them to teach them a lesson. You may not agree with this, but you also have not spent two hours doing nothing but trying to get onto the VP elevator with droves of 40's or 50's trying to jump on with you and your group. No offence, but I do not believe in helping lessor toons get suit parts just for that reason. But I have no problem helping you defeat buildings or other goals. In fact, I love helping others. Lower toons will not understand why higher toons do what they do until they walk a few streets in their shoes. Why worry about a toon bailing in the factory, just work on your goals and have fun! This is just a video game people! Stop being so serious about it.

i go in all the time with only one other toon, i check to make sure they at least have lipstick for heal then i will go regardless, Factory is easy i have soloed it more than once and to take anyone with me that wants to come is fine by me. I do think tho taking anyone that is below 20lp is a but mundane since one hit from the the cogs in the warehouse makes them go sad, but if they are game to try it i am willing to try and get them through

I love helping out smaller laff point toons whether its with tasks, buildings or what not.
I admit I have jumped out on other toons mid battle, not to be mean but for various reasons. If I see the others just aren't listening and they constantly wake up lured cogs and just plain don't know how to play the game then I'm not going to stick around and watch everyone die. Once, I was having a really bad day irl and was playing Toontown to try and relax. I got into a group with people that wanted to train their sound gags no matter what everyone else threw. They didn't care if they died because they woke up the (4) 10-12 cogs or not, all they wanted to do was train sound ... period. I said sorry I have to go, good luck and I left. I just didn't have the patience to deal with toons that pull out a level 2 sound gag for (4) high level lured cogs just to get himself/herself killed the next round because of it. I agree that was a dirty thing to do at that time and I felt bad for doing it afterwards but thats normally not my style. If a group is going well and there's no obvious problems I'll stick with the group till the end. IMO unless your a SF with someone there is a severe lack of communication in Toontown. I remember an instance when I was playing Ultima Online (another online game) with a group of people down deep in a dungeon, back when I was living and taking care of my sick grandmother irl ( several, several yrs ago ) and I heard a scream and a loud crash. I heard that and I quit out instantly as I ran to see if she was alright. I didn't bother to sit and make idle chat with my mates ... I didn't sort out loot or give people tells telling them when I'd be back I just left. Turns out she slipped and hit her head on the wall, I called the paramedics scared and shaking. ( true story ) All we see are the toons online at the moment, we don't know what happens behind the scenes irl. Its really easy to get upset at people but what we have to ask ourselves is ... do we know the complete story? |

question
What do you call a high laff toon that does not have maxed gags and plays like a moron???

It's not such a problem taking a low laff toon into HQ or the VP battle. It is however a problem if their gags are small.
I am all for a limit on HQ, all of us high laff toons have had to complete all of our tasks and build our gags. I don't see why we should be compromised by low laff/low gag toons. Having said this, during some of the VP battles I've come across some pretty noobie L100 + toons. Doing the basic mistakes like sounding back L12 Skels etc on their own. I'll do a VP with a low laff if their gags are good or if they play well.

As I have stated elsewhere on this board, it's not that lower toons don't deserve to go to the VP, nor is it that there are no low toons that can handle the battle and hitting the VP, its that as long as it is as bug laden as it is, it makes more sense to take the highest toons you can get (or at least lower toons with full gags or toons that you know real well). The freezing and dropping problems are getting better. I have seen far less of it the last few days (not zero yet) and have made several runs with 5 or 6 people only. This means we are nearing a point where you can fill those empty spots with lowbies and still make it just fine. There is a lot of work that goes into getting into the HQ when you are a mingler or holly and you don't want to risk all that work and time and take chances. Thank Disney for this attitude from some of the high toons in the game. If they had actually debugged it before they dropped it on us, this wouldn't be an issue.
I have softened up on this a bit as it has gotten easier to beat the VP and I'm sure others will come around too. Just because we are over 100, doesn't mean we can't be wrong. Those under 100 will understand some of the attitude when they get here. I'll bet your 40 something doesn't get bombed with 'please be my friend' on EVERY street, EVERY time you go there and get told you stink when you don't accept EVERY request to help someone or be their friends. There are a lot of frustrations at the top and not many good ways to deal with it. Some attitude toward lower toons should be expected. Now, just have fun with your friends and don't be a pest to others. Good things will come if you do.
