Post Archybow's Guide to Soloing the V.P.!

So do you think you have what it takes to solo the V.P.? Have all those fancy SOS toons and Unites and still dont know what to do? Well here is a mini-guide to help you through it all!

Chapter I: Necessary Equipment

First of all, your toon should have at least 100 laff before trying this. If your toon has too low laff, it will quickly go sad and you will be bummed. Have full gags with you(TIP!!!!!!!!!!! If you are a lureless toon, DO NOT BOTHER GETTING TOON UP AND TRAP GAGS! They will just be a waste.) To make out the point, don't bring tu at all. Make sure you have plenty of tu unites and gag restock unites. Plus, make sure you have at least a few of these sos cards:

Barnacle Bessie
Flippy
Lil' Oldman
Proffesor Pete
Clerk Clara
Any gag restocking toon (ex: Sophie Squirt, Baker Bridget, etc.)

If you happen to have access to level 7 gags, i recommend you train to get those gags too.

Chapter II: The Battles

The cog battles are just like the others. Except theres about 40 of them and only 1 of you. Plan a strategy like lure, tu, attack. It is also a good idea to well train your doodle. It can be very useful in tough situations. Make sure you keep in mind that the cog on the right always jumps back when lured, so use that to your advantage.

Chapter III: The Showdown:

After the pies fly and the cogs cry, its finally time for a date with the V.P. Now it is a little easier than some people think if you can be evasive. The V.P. damage points go like this:

Simply running into him= 1 point
Getting hit by the gears from undercarriage= 2 points
Getting hit with a spray of gears or when he turns and throws gears at you= 3 points
Getting swiped at by the V.P.= 5 points
Standing after the V.P. jumps= 10 points

Remember that after he swipes at you, you shouldn't run back in the same direction or else you will still take the 5 points of damage.

When throwing the pies into his undercarriage, start out at the front; it will be easier to knock him back. Once he gets to the first very steep ramp, go to the back and wait for the door to open. Then go back to the front and keep pelting him.

Be aware that the first few times that you stun him will be a little longer than the rest, so make sure you take advantage of that longer period of time!

Once he's down the first ramp its a little easier. If the V.P. is about to throw gears at you quickly run to the other side of him like this:

0=gears
the arrow is you

0
0
0
---------->
Then pelt him with in the undercarriage again.

Once he is on the second ramp, you can choose to stay up front, or go behind him. It depends on which side you are most skilled at.

Also keep in mind that when you are too far away from the V.P. he will jump continousally, which also helps him speed up the ramps. Make sure you don't wander too far away from the V.P.!

To make a long story short, stay in the fray!

Once he is down the second ramp, the gears start coming out at high speeds so make sure to pelt him as fast as you can! Continue this and he will fall off the platform and into the dark depths of the bottom.

I hope that this guide helps toons to understand a little bit more about soloing the V.P. It is a very dangerous yet wonderful achievement. Have fun with the V.P.

Good information, however what do you mean when you said: "Make sure you keep in mind that the cog on the right always jumps back when lured, so use that to your advantage."

When you use lure, the cog on the far right always jumps back when you throw/squirt it. In other words, it always has the bonus lure damage. Sorry for the confusion.

Have you ever noticed how some cogs 'jump' backwards and get extra damage after being lured and attacked and others don't? That's what he is talking about, and it's called a lure bonus. When hit with a gag say a cream pie (40 damage) and the cog is lured, if there is a bonus it would get 40 damage plus half of the original damage, 20. So altogether the damage would equal 60. The cog on the right always gets this bonus, sometimes other cogs don't.

It's to my belief that when your in a Boss fight (VP,CFO, or CJ) all the cogs jump when they are lured no matter which side they are on. I only find them not to jump in like factories,DA offices, and Mints. Don't get me wrong, the right cog always jump no matter where you are but since your talking about boss fights and the act of soloing then it really doesn't matter because they will all jump.

Thanks for the information. The lure bonus damage I have always known about. Since early on I learned to lure-left, attack-right, I had not noticed that the right cog always gets it while others may not. This way, eventually every cog is on the right, and gets it.

Also I wouldnt say its necessary to have 100+ laff. You can def. solo with under 100 laff.
