Good ol' Lefty Solo's The C.J.!!!
Good ol' Lefty Solo's The C.J.!!!
I just want to thank all my friends who helped me do so many practice runs, couldn't have done it without you!. Shout outs go to J.C., CCE Blak, Waldo, MTJ, Princess Pearl Sparkleswirl, Princess Rainbow, Beautifully Broken, B.J., King Ricky, Poodlenose, Dinky, Midnight Rider, miss olivia, and if I forgot anyone, you know who you are. Special thanks to Cory and Jenny for teaching me the basics and Dawg Father for some great information. Now I'm going to get back the SOS cards I used and maybe fish GoL2. I started off with one level 12, and killed around 60 cogs. Since I had so many SOS cards and was not afraid of getting low on Laff, I used some pretty dangerous strategies to get by the cogs. Such as using fog horn on level 10s then calling Franz. When I got low on laff, I would lure and use Flippy. I'm so happy that my lure only missed 3 times during the whole battle. I thought I was going to have some trouble, considering it missed twice on the first level 12. Not much else to say about this round, only took 30 minutes to finish. SOS Cards used: 2 Franz Neckvein 2 Moe Zart 2 Lil Oldman 4 Flippy 4 Bessie 1 Sid Sonata Unites used: 1 20 TU 1 Max TU 1 Lure 1 Gag All ~The Cannons Round~ For this round I was so worried because if I did not seat enough toons, I would have to re-do the whole thing. But luckily that did not happen. I picked the only cannon available (Flippy), and waited until 25 seconds before shooting. I used Dawg Father's technique of lining the right side of the cannon to the top row seat of the one I wanted to get below. It is a little confusing I know, so here is a picture below. I seated five toons in the jury and was ready to begin the scale round. ~The Scale Round~ This as most of you know is the most challenging part. Out scaling 10 cogs and having to deal with a full set of gravels is no easy task. As usually, I received 22 pieces of evidence to work with. I then started scaling from afar because it is down right impossible to try up close. I learned that lesson after my second solo practice. I'm sure half of you want to know how I avoided all the evidence being throw at me, right? I used the two methods, one were I jumped to the right/left, then adjusted my aim at the scale. The second method I will give more detail because I believe it is the best one to use when the CJ jumps and other one has already been explained! As you are all aware (if not pay attention), when the CJ jumps, the cogs take a six second delay before throwing more evidence. Then five, four, three, two, after each throw. However, the CJ's jumps reset the pattern back to six seconds, so basically you have time to do some serious pain!. Also, once a cog as taken aim at something, it can not be changed! Knowing this little fact and how 9th/10th cogs are closer to you and placed on the sides, I came up with this strategy: - Stand close to the middle between the 9th and 10th cogs and line up with the scale. - Pay attention to when the 9th cog or other's are about to throw evidence. - Move back, you will see two pieces of evidence criss cross usually (9th and 10th cogs). - Next jump forward to avoid the whole cog line's evidence. - Keep panning afar as usual and repeat. Heres a visual example of what it looks like in C.J. I like this strategy a lot because I wouldn't have to re-adjust my aim after dodging evidence! It takes timing and focus to pull this off, but if done right can lead to a faster solo. I really should give this strategy a name, and since it reminds me a of triangle... Lets call it THE TRIFECTO! "Scale from afar, Move back, Jump over!" Continuing on, when the scale got too low to scale from afar, I moved into the danger of gravels playing whack a mole on my head. I would hit the pan on an angle so I could still see the 9th cog and the last cog in the line. When the 9th cog threw his evidence, I would use the TRIFECTO strategy and this worked perfectly! I occasionally got caught panning one too many pieces of evidence at the scale, but other than that, this was a PIECE OF CAKE! Really, there are probably at least 50 other players that can solo this, if they put the time and effort into trying. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask! Oh yea, I finished the scale round in 20 minutes, no thanks to a weight bonus of +5!
