Question
Quote:
So once the timer reaches 25, are you only shooting at seats where it appears that a cog is not already heading to that seat? Is that the idea? If this is the best cannon strategy for a solo CJ, I still do not understand why this should be the best strategy for an 8-person CJ. Do you agree? Why not fill as many seats as possible and then have as many toons as possible shoot at the seats that get re-taken by cogs? To me, the only difference seems to be that if everyone follows your strategy, at 25 seconds, no seats will be filled, whereas if everyone just shoots at seats beginning at 60 seconds, at least some seats will be filled at the 25 second mark. But either way, cogs are going to re-take some seats. |

The cogs start flying into the jury once the timer starts. They do fly in at varying speeds (my observation). On this solo, I started shooting at 25 sec, of which one of my seats was taken. Another one for some reason my toon didnt register at the last split second. Now, I shoot at 24 sec, where only one of my seats gets taken by a cog one out of a lot of CJs. If you wait until 24 sec, you will see that all of the seats are taken by cogs and no more cogs will fly in until you take a seat. Once you take a seat, a cog will fly in towards that seat, but it takes the cogs longer than 24 sec to reach the jury; keeping your seats occupied by your toon. As I said, every once in a while you will have a cog that seems to fly in faster than the rest and still will take one of your seats even shooting at 24 sec, but this is not very common. Quote:
When I go in with my friends, and we all use this strategy, we usually get no less than 10. There are times where we mess up and seat 7 or 8, but more often than not we get the majority of the jury. I have been in many CJs where only 3 of us went in and have never seated less than 10 total. Out of all these 3 man CJs, we usually get 11 or even 12 seats. Shooting at 60 sec, yes you will take up seats, but the cogs have plenty of time to fly in and take them away. If you look closely at the seats, you will see all toons, then after a while you will see all of the seats being taken back by the cogs. Once they are taken away, you have to re-aim, and shoot again at all the seats you have previously taken. You spend more time shooting and shooting again and re-aiming that lots of people dont even get a single toon in the jury. Not only do you have to worry about re-shooting and re-aiming, you also have to worry about how many shots you have left. When a CJ with 8 toons only get 3 or 4 total in the jury is because each person shot at 60 sec, went into a frenzy of shooting everywhere and ended up with nothing. Using this strategy I outlined, at least any seat that you have taken, you know it will not get taken by a cog, leaving your mind at ease, allowing you to shoot and aim at the next seat and keeping you from going into a frenzy. The other day I did a random CJ; I myself sat 5 using this strategy. We had a total of 6 toons seated. Everyone else started shooting at 60 sec. How is it that I was able to get 5x more seats than 7 other toons? Is it that I have better experience and can shoot better? That is a possibility, but there were a few BW50s there too. To me, I think its overall due to a better strategy and not that I am better at shooting than everyone else. If you dont believe me still, compare random CJs to CJs where everyone uses this strategy. You will see more overall toons seated in CJs where they wait until the timer goes down to 24 sec. If you dont have enough SFS to try this strategy, come on a stunless run with me so that you can see the benefits of using this strategy. If you are interested, let me know and I will PM you a district and time. The Dogfather

Congratulations. I am as awed by you as everyone else. You are very dedicated to everything you take on. And you have exceptional skills. Not just in your game play, but in your ability to teach people, and have the patience to show try to show us all you know. You are an exceptional person. I don't want this answered, just thinking out loud: I wonder what you do in real life and how you've helped everyone around you.
You've given alot of people someone great to look up to. That in itself is a very honorable achievement. Congratulations again. |

That Explains it!

I am surprised to hear that the strategy still works with random toons that do not know about the strategy, but I'll defer to your expertise and experience. More importantly, I'll start using your strategy in all CJ runs and will report if my results differ. Everyone who does CJs should note: Do not fill any jury seats until the timer is down to 24 seconds!! |
