Before Lawbot HQ came out, we had tons of attention-seekers who began huge hoaxes when they started threads claiming that they had been to Lawbot HQ or possessed information/screenshots of it. The worst part was that many people naively believed them. In the end, not one of these threads turned out to be true.
This thread contains a list of the most common Bossbot HQ hoaxes that people will no doubt start, coupled with reasons not to believe what they say. However, this entire thread can be summed up in one sentence:
Everyone who claims to have been to Bossbot HQ, have screenshots of Bossbot HQ, or have inside information about Bossbot HQ is not telling the truth.
The first time I ever saw a real screenshot of Lawbot HQ or heard any true information about it was on April 5, 2006 when it was released on test. Nothing said before then turned out to be true. Keep in mind, however, that some Bossbot HQ threads aren't malicious and are just made for fun or to show off an edit.
Now for the list!

"My father, (uncle, friend's father, friend's uncle, etc.) works for Disney and he gave me information about Bossbot HQ."
This one is by far the most common. It’s the classic “I know a guy who knows a guy” story. A while back, the director of Toontown was interviewed on a gaming website. Naturally, some of the questions asked were about Bossbot HQ, but he refused to give anything but extremely vague hints. The truth is that the developers are very secretive about new content that they are developing. They wouldn't do anything that might cause information to leak out. This may seem hard to do, but it's the same thing that novel writers, movie producers, and other video game developers do.
Before Cashbot HQ and Lawbot HQ came out, there were about forty people who claimed to have inside information about them because they were related to a developer. Not one of these people said anything that turned out to be true. In addition, it's highly unlikely that we'd have forty people on TTC who are related in some way to a developer. I doubt that Toontown even has that many developers. Therefore, I can confidently say that every single person who says this is just looking for attention. And they're getting it, because people believe them.
"I glitched and ended up in Bossbot HQ."
This one is probably the second most common. Many people seem to think that Bossbot HQ is in some secret location that we just can't get to yet. Before Cashbot HQ came out, there were loads of people who mistakenly thought that if you could just glitch past the barrier in Donald's Dreamland, you could end up in Cashbot HQ. In the same way, there are many people who think that if you could just glitch through the walls in Donald's Dock or something, you'd end up in Bossbot HQ.
The big problem with this is the fact that Bossbot HQ isn't in the game yet! When you load Toontown, it first says "Loading Sellbot HQ", and then it says "Loading Cashbot HQ, and finally "Loading Lawbot HQ". It doesn't say "Loading Bossbot HQ". There is also no file for Bossbot HQ in the Toontown files yet. This is because it is simply not there yet. This makes it impossible to get into Bossbot HQ because of a glitch. Anyone who claims to have done it is also just looking for attention.
"I hacked Toontown to get into Bossbot HQ / know someone who did."
Toontown players are very paranoid of hackers today. Whenever there's a problem with the game, some people say that it must be because someone hacked the server. Other people who perform glitches take special care to make sure that nobody thinks they're a hacker. Therefore, Toontown fans probably won't be congratulating somebody who claims to have hacked the game to find out Bossbot HQ information, but will nevertheless believe them. What they don't understand is how difficult hacking Toontown would be. You'd have to get around all of Toontown’s security systems, firewalls, and whatnot, which only an extremely experienced hacker would be able to do.
Even if you managed to hack Toontown, there would be nothing to find because, as I said above Bossbot HQ isn’t in the game yet. The only way that you might be able to get information on Bossbot HQ by hacking would be if you somehow hacked the computers that Disney uses to program the game. However, in the unlikely event that a criminal is skilled enough to hack into Disney’s computers, he’ll probably be going after Disney’s bankrolls, not Bossbot HQ information. Plus, since hacking a computer is a felony, you probably wouldn’t be bragging about it on TTC where the NSA can read all about it.
"I wasn't disconnected when a dev brought Toontown down for maintenance, and I got to see Bossbot HQ."
Many people think that when Toontown is brought down for maintenance because a developer is working on or testing Bossbot HQ. They think that while we’re offline, the Toontown developers have temporarily uploaded Bossbot HQ and are busy doing who-knows-what. Last year, we had an enormous hoax when somebody claimed that the devs had been careless and had forgotten to boot him when TTC went down for maintenance. He claimed that instead, the game had restarted and he had been returned to the Brrrgh, where to his great surprise, the street to Lawbot HQ was now open, allowing him to go to Lawbot HQ, which the developers were busy testing. Of course, he was disconnected after being in Lawbot HQ for a few seconds. He offered several “pictures” as proof that he had been able to go to Lawbot HQ. Many believed him, figuring that a developer must have brought the server down to test Lawbot HQ, but had forgotten to boot him off.
This couldn’t have possibly been true, however, because the devs don’t use the server that everybody plays on test new content. The developers have their own computers over in California that they use to program and test new content. If they had to bring Toontown down for maintenance every single time that they wanted to work on and test Bossbot HQ, then Toontown would have to be down around the clock, because programming a game is a very long and laborious process.
Plus, it wouldn’t make sense to upload Bossbot HQ to Toontown prematurely and risk it being exposed like that. Once Toontown has made Bossbot HQ playable, they will release it to the TEST server, so that the testers can test out Bossbot HQ’s gameplay and find bugs. The first time that Bossbot HQ will ever be on the open server will be the day of its official release.
When Toontown goes down for matinence, the developers are just performing a tune-up. They're correcting minor bugs that have developed and that sort of thing. Nothing nearly as exciting as Bossbot HQ.
The "Pictures" of Lawbot HQ

"Another toon gave me information about Bossbot HQ."
I’m afraid to say that if your secret friend claims to have inside information about Bossbot HQ, they’re lying. Either that, or they’ve been lied to by someone else, and they’re just passing it along.
"I found a secret way to get to Bossbot HQ, but I forgot what it is."
Riiight…
"Bossbot HQ is already out on Japanese Toontown."
This was another big pre-Lawbot HQ hoax. Someone claimed to have a screenshot of the Lawbot boss that had been taken on the Japanese server, where they claimed that Lawbot HQ had already been released. This doesn’t make any sense, however, because Toontown is a United States-based game that has international servers to allow playability worldwide. Therefore, there’s no reason that Disney would want to release new content overseas before releasing it in the United States. In fact, many of the international servers have much less content than the United States server, not more. At one point, my sister and I decided to try out the free trial for German Toontown. Although Cashbot HQ had recently been released in the United States, German Toontown didn’t even have Sellbot HQ yet, let alone Doodles or Cashbot HQ!
Another reason is that the Test server is based in America, so if something hasn’t even been released on the Test server yet, there’d be no logic to releasing it in Japan, because it would be buggy and simply unfinished.
The Lawbot Boss

"I found information about Bossbot HQ in the Toontown files."
Get ready for the granddaddy of all hoaxes. A couple years ago, someone claimed to have gone into the Toontown Phase Files and extracted pictures of supposed items from Lawbot HQ such as a wig and an old-style camera from the “Lawbot HQ Folder”. The pictures were so convincing that even I believed him. Extracting the Toontown files is not difficult, however, and later on when I did it, I realized that there was no “Lawbot HQ Folder”. The first time that a Lawbot HQ folder ever appeared was when Lawbot HQ was released on Test. The pictures were fakes.
As of right now, there is no “Bossbot HQ Folder” in the Toontown files nor anything else related to Bossbot HQ. However, if somebody claims to have found something Bossbot HQ-related in the Toontown Phase Files, don’t immediately assume that it must be false. Last year, about a month before Lawbot HQ was released, for some reason, Disney put several files related to Lawbot HQ into the Cashbot HQ folder. One of them was a model for the gavels in the Chief Justice’s courtroom. Another was entitled as a model for the Lawbot boss’s room, but it turned out just to be a duplicate of the model for the CFO’s room. There was also a text file which simply contained programming for the cogs’ movement around the courtyard. None of this was very substantial, but it was there nonetheless. Therefore, if someone claims to have found something related to Bossbot HQ the Toontown files, don’t immediately dismiss what they say as false, but take the time to find out more about it, including if anybody else has found it too.
