I'd personally stay out of HQ(not the factory) unless you a 70+laffer. If your smaller than that, you'll probably be a burden to your team.
There are going to be some 70+laffer who don't belong in there either. I've been seeing a lot of weak gag high laffers around. I had a 62laff no sound toon with all maxed gags, I've had her in retirement until HQ came out. I pulled her out this week, because I relized she wasn't going to be big enough. I'll get her around 80+laff before I feel OK with her being in there. That's just my view point.

Depends who you're with, really. I got a cog suit part at 25 laff, because the toons I went with kept me well-protected. But in a case like that, you need really high-level toons with you that can wipe out the cogs quickly, or lure them, before they get a chance to attack.

Even High laff toons die to the VP.
I have 95 but have died before the VP went over You need to carry high lvl gags and lots of them, 3 cream pies just arn't enough, If you dont have a high laff you will get killed by the VP even if you survive the two fights to get to him.

Well I hate to disagree with the post so far, but...
I have defeated the VP with mid lvl laf toons in the group. See it is not only based upon the lafs lvl, or lvl of gags they carry, it also depends on if that person knows how to play the game. ie: if someone lures on lvl 11,12,11,10 cogs and two choose toon up, then they either choose toon up or pass...NOT fire hose the lvl 12, or whipping out your bugle on 4 lured cogs, as I have seen happen. Before this last update which made the VP beatable again. My last battle before the update with 8 toons resulted in defeat of all 8 toons. However, I was the last one alive up top and the second to last toon alive beside me was a laf 55 toon that had good jump timing, (way to go Ari) I was impressed. So it really depends upon the quality of player not the lvl of their lafs or gags IMHO. |

I agree with Mac to a certain extent. If you go into HQ with a group of powerful toons, and one or two mid laffers, then things are ok. Change that number to 3 or 4 mid laffers, and things might be different. Eventually most mid laffers are going to run out of firepower.
A great player with 3 28 point fire hoses, is still just a great player with 3 28 point fire hoses. If lure fails on lvl 12,12,11,10 cogs, and they attack, it's going to take 2 of the 4 toons with good TU to fix the damage. That leaves two toons to get control of the situation. If the gags aren't there, there just not there. A group of 8 70 laffers can probably win. I don't think a group of 8 50 laffers can. I still like the 70+ number.

I have been through the factory once. My laff was in the 40s. I was really hesitant about going (because I was adamant about staying out til I was stronger), but a SF said a 100+ laffer was willing to take us through so that we could see it. Otherwise, I would have never gone uninvited.
I am at 53 laff right now, and haven't entered the factory again (but I have been in the CHQ playground when I was looking for Glad Handers for the Anna's Cruises task). So I still have only 1 piece of my suit. I will definitely feel more comfortable when I am well beyond LOM part II (read: 70s laff) and carrying level 6 throw and squirt, as well as decent lure and toonup. And it depends on who I am with too. Depending on when CHQ is finally released to open, my strong open toons may see more of CHQ before my test toon does. And no, that doesn't mean that I have any idea when that will happen!!!

Woo Hoo
I am a hundred and one laff and just had my first experience in the Factory.
I died, and I had no idea what I was looking for. I reckon it's a team game. Welcome back, me! Bye Bye sleep/food/work..... PS Someone tell me what the new MAX laff points is, can't seem to find a post on it. Thanks.

Big time welcome back.Max Laugh is 105 (depends on fishing rod/skill/luck). Cog Fodder II is 103 with the Hardwood Rod Twig and Bamboo come before hardwood; Steel and Gold come after. Every 4th cattlelog is to contain a the next rod improvement. My last (hardwood) rod was in Catalog 7 series 2. If Spunky's back, lots of us will be missing sleep. Have fun in toon town, ...Bear

How many of what to carry?
Quote:
I usually carry a LOT of lure too: 3 hypnos, 7 whatever-are-the-high-denomination bills, 7 large magnets. Should I pare that down in order to carry more offensive gags? LCF
