*Shrug* it off
Here is my advice, ignore them. They are probably just kids being mean just like in real life. Not all kids are mean, not all kids are nice, just like not all adults are mean, and not all adults are nice. Chances are, you may never see them again. Don't let the mean ones get to you, there are too many nice ones out there.
The thing with this game is you do not know who you are playing with, because it could be anyone, any age, anywhere. I am a LP108, and my S/F that I play with all the time is a LP110, yet we still have toons that are "mean" to us. We simply laugh at them (to ourselves) and keep on playing. When I have someone tell me that I stink, I will speedchat and tell them "Thanks!", or if they tell me to quit being mean, I will tell them "You look nice." For every "stinky" or "mean" phrase they give me, I give them a nice one right back. It takes all the fun out of the whole "being mean" thing for them. Remember, this is a game, and it is just for fun. So go have fun, and just ignore the mean toons. Don't let them ruin your good time. P.S. Remember this advice for real life too, the same theory applies!!! |

From their perspective... [and none of the toons were me!]
Couldn't you have let them speedchat in peace ... I'm sure they weren't saying anything particularly interesting!! If you said "please use the speedchat" more than a couple of times it doesn't surprise me if they found it annoying. The main judge isn't whether they talk to you or not, but whether they play nicely with you. Likewise, there is no point repeating your tasks in the coin mint once they have already agreed to go in with you, and got first the first few sets of cogs. The cogs you will meet are pre-defined. The only task it is useful to repeat is whether you need bux or not because that can indicate whether you want an invasion or not. But they still shouldn't have stunk you |

But I didn't repeat my toontasks over and over or tell them to use the speedchat. No, actually, I was really quiet the whole time. The only things I was trying to do were just to be NICE and get through the fac... maybe I was being anoying but I was shutting my mouth almost the whole time... Dx Good point though. |

Well I would like to say I ALWAYS act like an adult BUT.....a few days ago in a VP a toon was telling another they stunk because they choose the wrong gag. I said "no worries'..."have fun!" Well then the toon let me have it through the whole first fight. I tried ignoring it..I tried to be nice...but after awhile I just couldn't take it. So I said bye and got in my book. Unfortuantly for the rest of the toons I took two other toons with me. One that was maxed.
I just really wasn't in the mind frame to take all the stinking I was getting. So I totally understand what your saying and how it made you feel. I try to not sf too much in the runs. When we do it's not about the other toon. If the fourth toon who isn't sf says please use the speed chat I say "no worries" to let them now it's not about them. And then we try to talk in whisper so they don't feel so left out. So "Don't sweat it" ...."have fun!" and if they get to you to much just go find some nicer toons to play with

I just say, "Sorry, I'm helping a friend!" If they continue to say "Use the SpeedChat" I'll just ignore them.
I have quite a few friends that I play with. I have zero non SFs.. well one on the black cat... I will talk to them when I have something to say. I will Speedchat with the random and play around as well. But don't tell me I can't talk to my friends. I can understand how someone less tolerant would get angry with you saying that.

SF chat in the mints and factories can definitely be annoying. However, you do have the option of turning your sound off. I think it's a bit silly that you would expect two friends playing together to not talk throughout the game. Set an example, use your good manners, and ignore bad behaviors as best you can.
If someone is being abusive to me through speedchat I will usually just leave, and I take my other toon with me (I generally run two together) so they can have the mint/factory all to themselves. As a previous poster said, shrug it off. |
