Seriously, no one knows!

No one knows these special tips in the CFO. Lets fix that shall we?

When the CFO gives a big ol' stare at you, leave the crane immediately. Too late, you get 10 damage. When its about to hit you, YOU GET DOUBLE DAMAGE.

Try not to bump into the CFO. If you hit him at the front half, (Where he faces when he isnt targeting anyone) he will "sit down" and swipe you. If you do this when he is dizzy, someone could throw a safe and give them a helmet.

This is the most important one! If his health indicator is flashing red quite fast, then you have 10 percent chance of surviving. The -30 goons will come out, he gets something called "artifical intelligence." He will target any craners.

When he starts to get into the orange health level, automatic safe helmets will start falling on his head. If hes red, itll come every minute or so.

Take it like this.

The CFO is 1 second to throwing gears. Your status is "Leaving crane", and he throws gears. When you are about to leave, you get damaged while on the crane, and damaged while off the crane.

I disagree with this. Bumping the CFO can be very valuable. If you do it at the right time, you can keep him from throwing gears at craners, easily avoid his swipe by backing up, and many people find he's easier to hit when lowered down on his tracks. It's true you don't want to bump him when he's dizzy, but it can still be a useful help in defeating him if done at the right times.

You're wrong. If you bump him when he is about to throw gears, sure, itll stop damage to the craner. But towards the end there can be RED goons wandering. They do much more than 10 damage. Goons also target the nearest craner to them.

Just because there are red goons wandering around doesn't mean I'm wrong... it's not a binary system. I never said or implied that bumping the CFO was the only thing to do, just that it was a useful tool. Just like solely paying attention to the goons can be detrimental to the craners.

I think you may be right about the 30’s coming out when he’s right near 500 points damage. I had thought it was time based that the 30’s came out, but it makes sense since all the other goons come out based on the damage to the CFO. The problem with the 30’s is not the 30 point hit, but the fact that their light beams cover such a large path you can’t avoid them. I’m not sure if I understand what your saying about artificial intelligence and targeting craners. He always targets one of the toons but not necessarily a craner. Maybe it’s because you were the last toon left, but then he will always target you every 10 seconds or so. It is still quite possible to win unless there’s a swarm of 30 goons around. I think I saw one post of someone winning alone with the 30’s though, but you have to do it very fast before more than a couple come out.

I have started bumping the CFO when he targets the craner I am defending and it really makes things move faster (especially if the craner you are defending is very good). There are generally four craners and four stompers. With two stompers on each side there will always be an extra person to stomp goons if you need to bump the treads. The treads only take 1 lp from you and if the CFO does take a swipe at you, it's only 5 lp's as opposed to the 10+ lp's the gears take from you. You do have to be careful and not bump the CFO if he's dizzy, but he generally isn't targeting any craners then so it shouldn't be an issue.

It's not that no one knows, it's that some ppl are new and some have a different way of playing.

I will bump the CFO if he's eyeing the craner I'm protecting.

I'd rather he wasnt bumped and other craners would goon him before he gears anyone. It's easier to throw at him for some of us when he's standing.

When he looks me in the eye, and I dont see a goon about to be pitched by another toon - or I'm not in the process of flinging one, I will hit ESC and let him gear air. Then wait for the crane to go solid and continue.

Only once (well, you know) did some snert do nothing but wait until the CFO geared in my direction to steal a crane. These are just bigger versions of the street leeches.

That, was me. My old toon actually survived when there was a lot of 30 and 24 goons. I WAS ON MY OWN. That was only a fluke..
