omg cheap

Dottie here, battered and bruised from a recent VP battle that ended about as well Chernobyl did. I am so frustrated with how hard that battle was, I NEVER had such a hard time! The toons I was with worked so hard, and I absolutely blame myself for this loss. I can hit the VP's face at the drop of a hat when he's dizzy, but getting a pie into his undercarriage is an impossible task! Can someone give me a few pointers for a dead eye? I could have sworn on a stack of bibles that I got a pie in his gears, but nothing ever happened! OMG WHAT IS GOING ON??!!

I've had quite a few pies go in his undercarriage and not get the colored splat.
Alot of this has to do with lag.
I prefer having the small affect, because I can get up close and land pies in his undercarriage compared to my uber and her being tall.
You can either stand to the side a little, up close, but not too close so when the door opens it knocks you on your tooshie.
You can try standing directly infront of the door too.
I can't do long distance throwing... only close up.
One other thing... the CCG has a VP training run, I think once a week.
Alot of times the trainers will have an opening for sf's but will have to x you after for the next training run... but it helps if you can talk to someone before, during and after.

If this helps a bit, I stun by getting at an angle on the back undercarriage. Before the undercarriage opens, experiment a little bit and try to find the angle/power level that looks like it'll get directly in the middle. Keep standing in this position until the door opens, and simply throw the pie and it'll make it in. Also, at an angle, you are unlikely to get hit by gears, as he normally throws straight out.

Hoping this helps,
Domino Freckleflip

what i do

I stand from a distance back on the back of the vp, so if he is on the ramp, i am on the landing pad or whatever it is called. then i calculate/measure my throwing so that it lands in his undercarriage whenever the door opens, and it makes the vp a cinch.

I was one of the toons on that vp run with you and it was crazy! I can usually stun the VP a few times, but that run I had a heck of a time getting set up. The VP was so jumpy! Everytime I would have a pie ready to throw he would jump and mess me all up. And was it me or did he seem to go back up the ramp faster than usual? I am not the world's greatest stunner and like you prefer to drive him back, so in many ways I was like a fish out of water which didn't help. In the end it was down to three of us and I kept asking "Shall we go?" and someone finally said yes. This was after pushing him down that bottom ramp three times and I had only 8 lp's left at that point. That was by far the toughest VP battle I have ever been in. You played great...the vp just wasn't cooperating with us and we lacked a skilled stunner to help take up the slack (though I think this would have still been a tough one either way!).

I was just getting so frustrated that I kind of made myself lose intentionally by not jumping when the VP did and running into him and his gears. I usually have fun on VP runs...that was not fun.

so was the battle last night....there was only 3 of us and only 1 of him, I just hit alt+f4. I thought when in the skelecog battle everyone used their opera singer one after another in 4 turns that we would win but noooooooo... also I got my avatar done.

Just a few comments. All VP battles are about the same difficulty. There are a few slight variable’s such as the randomness of his attacks and the randomness of which side the door opens on.

The only real factor that changes a pie fights difficulty is the toons in the battle. If no one stands close he jumps constantly. He moves faster in the wrong direction when he jumps a lot. The longer the time between stuns the faster he moves back up the ramps. The pace will get faster and faster with time unless he is stunned again at which point his momentum stops.

Also I have found no benefit at all from having a small toon and have tried small and large toon tasks several times and see no difference. Stunning with a large toon is the same as a small and the pie bar is the only factor that matters as far as I can tell. Taking a large toon task made it hard to see past the toon to get in position to stun, so I prefer the regular size toon. Also I feel that the idea of hitting the VP in the head instead of the torso will drive him back faster is not true.

Yep yep, if everyone is standing far away, he will jump constantly because he can't reach anyone with his closer attacks. If one toon is standing far away, he will jump more often than if all the toons are within his attack range.

I stand right behind the treads on either side of the VP angled toward the door and hold the insert key down waiting for the door to open. At that point I wait for the blue on the bar to go as low as possible before I release insert. If the VP turns toward me, I release insert and move in front of the door to avoid his attack.

k i can show you some time if you need help i'm pretty good at stunning, here's what i do. first stand as close as you can without touching the vp, but not in the middle, next to one of the treads. that way he cant throw gears at you, your to close. then as soon as the door opens, tap the insert key or click the mouse as fast as you can, and that should pie the hole. be glad to show you any time . i need to get a vp in soon, i've been kind of neglecting the vp lately because i've been busy with cfoing.

Get close and use the meter bar to help you point the pie inside. Jump when he jumps and run in to dodge his gears. Stand close or he jumps alot. A few weeks ago my friend's and I were in 4 man vp and I wanted to solo pie well when ti reached en we let it climb back up and I said let me try, knowing for sure it would be tough since the second time he comes back up hes CRAZY, and it took ab out an hour and some minutes! It was toughest solo ever but I did it at end, and seriosly each time during the second ramp it only stayed stunned for litterly 2 seconds. After it was over crazy Tom goes 'we should do this every vp' .. But I think overall I learned to pie the vp and stun him better.
